The prime problem is that you can’t move while using any of them, which renders them entirely useless in WvW(can’t use racials in Spvp anyway) and surprisingly useless in even light PvE.

Yah, thats a pretty big detail. It is cool to have the casting animation, but for the sake of combat it ruins the fluidity of your needs to be moving while fighting.

No its intended to be a big part of their cultural identity and it was pretty evident from the start. It was a big flashy interest marker from character construction and its not actually something that is available functionally for the race to use for the extent of the game that they have access to it because its too weak.

I agree with being able to toggle off armor since I think shirtless Norns have a certain look to them that just makes sense as opposed to using armor that is less plate and more chest.

I like the transformations, I just think they just need to function differently, but I am sort of surprised that Norn don’t have an alcohol related cultural skill.

You can call them a joke all you want, but not trying to find a constructive way to address the problem doesn’t help. As a designer I can say that from all of the QA testing I’ve done you get plenty of stray interesting and useful ideas from the people who test your games.

I was suggesting changing them to feel more like a weapon set because that is one of the big things in this game that influences the flow of the game is how you choose to gear your character and how well you can flow back and forth between your skills. Making the transformation skills available in this manner would be both interesting and more practical, but I can’t say much for the other races, since all of my characters are Norn.

- Increase Size of Shields on Norn to better reflect their size differential.

My reasoning is that if my Norn is really this goliath-THING that can wield great amounts of weight with ease, why doesn’t it have shields that reflect this, The animations for the shields are fantastic, but whenever my Norn whips out the shield it just doesn’t seem… right. It seems off, they’re all just a little too small for me to believe that they are as impactful visually.

-Animations for one handed swords on Norns.

The attack animations for 1 Skill on Swords for Norn look lackluster. Like if you compare the movement and exaggeration used in animating the greatsword skills or any of the other skills for a great deal of the weapon they are much more fluid or powerful feeling. My Norn Thief feels fantastic as he flies through the air dancing with his daggers, but most of the sword animations feel lackluster, more specifically the standard attack.

Norn Elite skills Become the X. Wolf, Bear, Leopard, Raven. Ok so I hear tell that they are intended to be weaker, but I dont see any reason why they have to be. It sort of takes away from the race if all of their cultural variety is unusable. 30 Seconds of buff time on a 4 Minutes cooldown is pretty bad.

These skills have a really bad up-time for skills that aren’t much more ridiculous than my skills that are available for switching to my secondary weapon and typically I don’t have to worry about running out of skills to use because the cooldowns between two weapon sets are really well matched across the board. The cooldowns on the Transformation Elite skills are so long that I can’t weight their effectiveness against the shorter cooldowns of the Guardian skills or native Elite skills of other classes for the impact that I get from them.

My Proposal:

Is that you take these transformation skills and make them unique in this manner. Make them sit in that elite slot and function like a third weapon set.

So instead of getting a buff for thirty seconds that makes me this cool werewolf or were-leopard which goes on cooldown for EIGHT TIMES its duration make the transformations another skillset that you can toggle on or off much like weapon switching with the standard 9 second cooldown and make the skills that are available in those transformations balanced around a time frame that would make them both attractive as part of being in an elite skill and useful enough that I feel like I’m using the skill because it has some kind of separate function rather than because it is culturally fulfilling. (Not saying it can’t be culturally fulfilling, but that shouldn’t be the only thing.)

Or even that I use the transformation and realize that something in the environment has changed and I need a different skill from one of my weapons to deal with that situation, but I won’t get to use any of my cool beast skills because when I go out of the transformation I’ll have to wait four minutes to use it again.

My example since a lot of the skills on the transformation are really strong would be moving the cooldowns on the skills to something like this

Rending Slash/Rending Swipe – (Stays where it is as a standard attack skill)

Blood Frenzy (5 seconds) —> (7 Seconds)

Snarl ( 10 Seconds) —> (15 Seconds)

Howl ( 10 Seconds) —> ( 30 Seconds)

Leap ( 15 Seconds) —> ( 20 Seconds)

Not exact numbers just examples, such a thing would need QA testing to make sure it wasn’t too ridiculous, but its just an idea, because right now those really cool skills are ones I can’t justify because of how stupidly long those cooldowns are.

These are just some ideas I’ve been having, and I would love feedback or alternative solutions as that is the best way to refine an idea is through critique.

I think it works fantastically for tanking in dungeons with allies around since my kit is oriented around generating boons for allies. If Knight Armor is better I’ll consider pricing it in somewhere down the line, but for now my Cleric’s Armor works quite well I think a lot of people in my dungeons are really satisfied with my tanking.

I wish there was a more even balance between the armors, but I guess looking at the healing ratios on skills and even looking at the healing power to healing bonus ratio on AH doesn’t look like it contributes much of anything.

I get quite a bit of survivability out of what I am using now, but it is becoming more apparent that the hammer is perfect for control since the ranged snare can allow you to pace out your tanking if you have aggro on a heavy target and the greatsword is fantastic for collecting groups for your allies to handle.

I’ve been messing around with shield combinations, but as of now GS/Hammer and GS/Staff seem to be the most effective since the might stacks are a good bit of healing on top of the flat heal from the staff.

I plan on getting one of every weapon the guardian can use anyway come end game because I want the variety, but I am beginning to feel like the ranged variety is very limited and niche.

Mostly PvE, I hear Guardians aren’t fantastic in WvW.

I have like 17% Crit chance. I tend not to run precision since I’m more of a sustained tank between the toughness and healing power since I’m using Cleric armor. I’m still figuring out what I want out of my accessories, but I wanted to try and break 2k Toughness. I like the not dying bit. Not sure if you meant crit chance or crit damage, but the damage % is 36.

Also, to expand, my reasoning for Hold the Line, Stand Your Ground, and the Damage Reduction Signet is that they all grant allies boons to stack with altruistic healing. Although in the past. My build had five more into virtues so I could get the CDR % for Consecrations, which I kind of miss…

So my current setup is a full set of Cleric’s Exotic Armor with a full set of Dolyak Runes.

My traits are

0 Zeal (power)
15 Radiance (condition/precision)
30 Valor (toughness)
20 Honor (vitality)
5 Virtues

I am still trying to figure out if its more effective to use Sword/Shield or Staff on switch with my Greatsword to combo out with Altruistic Healing, but it is blatantly painful when I don’t have the 20% CDR perk for Two handed weapons.

I guess its in the chat log, but I’m not sure if there is a maximum effectiveness of toughness where there is no point in taking away from my offensive capabilities since it will hinder me more than help me be an effective tank.

Yah, I’m going to have to agree, The tomes never feel impactful, and the only one I use is the one that refreshes my virtues that grants invulnerability. I would also like to see some more impactful more interesting Guardian Elite Skills.

Level 80 Story Quest The Steel Tide - Broken Tank?

I don’t know if it was a result of poor design or if its actually a bug, but its kittening impossible to stay on the turret to fire. If you try to turn the turret too much in one go it goes all the way to the left or the right and then kicks you off the turret, but typically it just kicks you off of the turret after just trying to turn or fire the gun and the Mortars don’t do anything apparently since I was sitting there for like two hours trying to kill a never-ending spawn of Orrians.

Also the collision around the tank itself is totally messed up if you try to stand anywhere around it after it boots you off of the turret it simulates what I can only describe as a rubber banding effect. (Its not rubber banding and if you think to post something about my internet connection I’ll kindly ask you to commit the honorable sudoku.)

Two hours. IT DOESNT END. Can’t use the weapon that the quest requires me to because it doesn’t let me for whatever number of reasons I can’t figure out. Whether its a really kitteny mesh collider that conflicts with your character or just bad programming I’d really like to know why this doesn’t work.

So this game likes to alt-tab me a lot when I hold right click down to move my camera. If I dont hold down on it hard enough which can be difficult for long periods of time it moves out of the game and clicks stuff off screen.

I literally can’t put into words how frustrating this is. It is most notable during the Mad King’s Clocktower, which I have completed four times despite this silliness, but it happens all the time in other situations and has had a strong impact on my survivability in key situations.

I have been told this is an issue with dual monitors, but I would rather there be a fix for an issue with the game rather than have to lose access to my secondary monitor.

To be more descriptive of the method if you hold right click and let go ever so slightly and move the mouse to the right it will be free of the game itself and will click on anything on a second monitor changing your window priority and dropping you out of the Guild Wars 2 window.

If a toggle option for the right click could be implemented to allow it to be turned on and off freely by clicking my guild wars experience would be vastly improved and to solve the issue of not being able to click on enemies with the right click you could also implement a feature that allows for better non-click targeting.

Something along the lines of what is right in front of you or even the most recent thing you hit. Vindictus uses free motion attack movements, but has the option of being able to focus on single targets, which is a really appealing combat scheme. This is also much like Zelda in a manner where you can freely move and focus onto a single target.

You’re game is kittening fantastic and keep up the good work, except the camera, fix that.

I’m about to construct armor and I’d like to know what would be better to invest into I already have 30 into Honor for the vitality, but I’m not sure if I want more vit or if I want more toughness.
