Can’t put on pets outside of sPvP. Had to remake ranger. Had Wyverns on before which are disabled there. might be the cause

So the tooltip for “slash” on the first part of the auto attack chain says “removes bleeding” but doesn’t remove bleeding at all. Is this supposed to be a tooltip error or a feature that doesn’t work and hasn’t since launch?

So…I have a pet…you’d think that would give me an advantage in small scale and 1v1 encounters…nope. Forget about your pet lasting more than 1 second in a zergball fight….

Don’t get me wrong, I do like the Pet Rez function…but I feel something is lacking with rangers….we give up the heavy armor and survival capabilities that Warriors and Guardians enjoy, we don’t have the tricksie spells that mezmers and thieves have…back in the day we used to have awesome range attack, but that got nerfed after the warriors and guardians complained we hurt them so much.

Rangers need some more love and attention…bring back the range in ranger please anet!

And while I’m begging…How about a sniper shot that goes twice as far and does awesome damage (thinking of guardians and warriors who stand on walls defending)…give us a head-shot that will make them think twice about exposing themselves for too long!)

The definition of Ranger: A keeper of a park, forest, or area of countryside.

Has nothing to do with range. A 1500 range longbow glass ranger hits like a truck already, don’t need a huge burst spell like warrior’s Killshot (which is so hugely telegraphed you’d only be hit by it in zerg fights)

The survivability isn’t like any other class except a non-stealth thief, a ranger has to dodge to survive, hence why we have a lot of access to vigor (even a 5 point trait that gives 50% faster endurance regen) and protection on dodge along with a bunch of evades.
Ranger doesn’t need any buffs, well except something to help a pet survive in a large scale battle. Don’t need no more power creep.

I noticed now that we have moved up into higher tiers, solo roaming is not really an option anymore when “roaming” has become a minimum requirement of 4 players up or more.

Do you know of a good S/D build to use then? If so, can you link it or tell me where to find it?

For my s/d I personally use 0/30/0/10/30, with arcane blast (LH for PvE), arcane wave and myst form with the FGS elite. In Air I use VI,VII,XII. In water I use V, in Arcana I use V,VI,XI.

In my armour I have ppt with beryl orbs, zerker weapons with air and force sigils, and my trinkets are cavs for the most part.

1 – It doesn’t really matter in pve too much to be honest, staff is good for support, d/d is good sustained damage, s/d is good burst and stacks a lot of might at melee range which could help your warrior buddy. I’ve ran all in PvE without that much difficulty. Utilities wise, Lightning Hammer is amazing in PvE. Traits, Arcane is always a safe bet.

2- I buy armour and weapons at every x5 level, 15,25,35 for example

3- Crafting i’d wait till 60 or higher then use a guide

EDGE and OBS are actually fighting you guys while now on crystal desert. Were running around tagless while thinking of a guild name to merge under. Might actually have a tag by now but im half a country away to know if we did.

That’s never going to happen, there is technical limitations to it, such as all your data is stored on the NA servers and the Euros on the European servers. It’s what you can’t guest to a Euro server when you are on NA or visa versa

So, that [CORE][HARD] IoJ zerg was brutal at DH bay, they melted the DH zerg. That was… interesting, thank god for the outmanned buff.

This only really happens from one person in our guild, and the only other time I see it is if they did that on our body first. (Well me anyways, I got a taste for them people)

I personally haven’t seen any of your guild this matchup at all. So when we die and come back with other guilds like OBS, AD, BSTY, NoQQ. Just remember next time, we’re mixed and matched in the same party and run with them and a daily basis, especially OBS. Just think of it as one big friendly guild! Or maybe alliances like GW1.

Now less complaining and more pew pew.

The symptom I, and that just about everyone else with the issue has, is that everything else regarding internet is 100% fine, only GW2 sucks. This ranges from Portugal to Thailand, going by the posts.

I’m not saying it isn’t on Anet’s side I’m pretty sure most of the issues that you and I are getting are 99% most definitely on Anet’s side. Sometime it’s on an ISP’s side, but again what most people on this forum are getting is probably on Anet’s side.

Once again is unplayable due to lag for me. Can’t believe Anet have not even bothered to reply here.

Idk how it is with American major ISPs but the ones in Canada tend to be awful. It could always be that there is an issue with your line (which is what’s wrong with mine). It’s always safe to contact your ISP just to check on that. Then again it just can be bad connections at Anet with their servers, or their ISP’s servers.

Edit** Removed issue. called my ISP and fought with them, the problem is on their end. If others are having a latency issue try contacting your ISP and fighting with them until they double and triple check.

Fight club was fun tonight thanks to the few SBI that came out and the plenty of DR, wish it had a bigger turnout from SBI and IoJ. Maybe next time there will be a lot more people.

I’d say the Mesmer is the best duelist in the game. Only profession I can’t beat if they are equally skilled. But that said Rangers are the second best duelist in the game IMO

I was a main Ranger in GW1 is why I kept to it in GW2. I love the play style of the ranger, and we aren’t completely awful, a little under-powered ya, broken no. With ~800 hours played on my Ranger in WvW, PvE, and sPvP I can’t give her up (especially being so close to the dreamer). I do have an 80 guardian, mesmer, and elementalist, but the ranger is ust too fun to give up.

Nah it’s kay, totally a feature of the skill.

They can revive you if you’re downed. The 3 skill brings your pet to res you.

This is a pet class. I mean, it’s the same thing as creating a thread in the warrior forum saying: “I DONT WANT TO USE GREATSWORD BECAUSE I DONT LIKE IT AND IT IS NOT PRETTY. REMOVE IT FROM THE GAME.”
Learn to use your pets, pets are useful and powerful if you play it right.

I have NEVER seen my pet die in 3s when i was looking out for him, i have never seen my pet being kited by an enemy while i was looking out for him, and being able to split your damage in half (And that other half will be powerful, regardless of the gear), is one of the best things you can ask for.

You know what my friends say after i beat them in 1v1s? They say :
“You only won because of your pet, he is overpowered”

Ranger from GW1 was a “pet class” you didn’t have to bring your pet anywhere with you ever. And on some bosses you pet will be instakilled regardless with AoE being spammed everywhere (Arah giant anybody).

Another thing, it isn’t the same as a warrior saying to remove the greatsword, because they aren’t FORCED to use it. I don’t like having half of my class relying on AI ever, especially on a skill based game why does AI have to be a lot of damage. Lastly, if your friends think the pet is OP, they must be terrible, all my guild mates laugh at my pet if we 1v1.

I’d say mesmer, the amount of confusion you can pop off as a shatter mesmer followed by a huge spike while you have 8 stacks of invuln. Since majority of rangers use quickness from either pet swap and/or QZ, and a shatter mes can put confusion on himself so shatter for 8 stacks of confusion while you have your quickness up does a crap ton of damage, and by the time you realize you lose 3/4 health if traited as a cd mesmer and still a decent amount if you’re not cd mesmer. Then you’ll have 3 more clones up which then you shatter when you’re in melee for 2k shatters each takes out most of the ranger health and will kill the pet with AoE. Then you just got the survivability of the mesmer in general.
