When he stopped, I asked “Where’s the restroom?”

Dang, and that was such a set-up. The obvious response: We don’t have restrooms, we have water-closets.

Repeatable personal story

I totally agree, this would be a great feature! Not only do I forget the story sometimes, but it seems that whenever I’m listening/watching a dialog or video that is integral to the story, THAT is when my mother calls, a family member decides it’s the perfect moment to start a conversation, someone rings the doorbell and the dog is barking her crazy head off… Even if not playing the mission (which would be preferable), being able to see unlocked dialog and video, as is often done in other video games, would be a nice option.

login screen won't save password

I can change my actual password on the site, and immediately enter it for GW & GW2. However, on the GW2 login screen, it will not save my new password.

This was always a bit buggy, and the workaround in the past had been (at least for me), to do the following steps:
1. Uncheck the box to save the password, then manually type the new password and login.
2. Logout and shut off GW2.
3. Reload GW2, check the box to remember the password, retype the new password, and login, again.
A little obnoxious, but it used to work.

Now, I’ve repeated the above steps and with variations, and it refuses to let go of the old password. The irritating part is I thought I’d go really secure this time and make my new password fairly long. =(

Anyway, just FYI. The login save has gotten buggier for at least one of us than it used to be.

Name 3 "easy" improvements for WvW

in WvW

1. Remove the need to complete WvW maps for 100% map completion. All this requirement does is make PVE players feel like they’re being forced into doing something they really don’t want to do, and WvW players hate them for being there. The goals of each player type is completely different and incompatible which leads to unnecessary strife.
2. Limit the number of world transfers based on world rankings. Allow open transfers within 3 ranks of the current server. Nobody doing WvW in their right mind is going to transfer from the top ranked server to the bottom unless they believe 1000 buddies are going to join them. The advantage to the massive guilds in doing a top to bottom massive transfer are obvious, but it totally sucks for everyone else that comes into contact with them (including the poor server they swarm to…just ask players still on HOD). Not only do queues get insane, but the server gets hit with wannabe’s, the people who transfer that want to say they’re on a winning server. Usually the wannabees are the worst players who stand around LA griping about everyone and how this server is as bad or worse than the last one (somehow not grasping the the only thing in common between the current server and the last is them).
3. Don’t know if this is technically feasible, but create server buffs based on numbers. The buff would only kick in if the player ratio is idiotically insane (which only happens with massive server transfers from top to bottom ranking) and would only affect health. This way we would not be creating one-shots from the under-dogs, but would make it a little more work for the swarm.

Response to Cris Lawlieth.2308 – [Incident: #130104-001819]

I had something similar happen last month, with my card being rejected. Assuming I had messed up, I tried it again, typing the number very, very S-L-O-W-L-Y to make sure it was perfect, and got the same error. Well, I thought I’d give it one more try before calling my card company, and that’s when I noticed something I hadn’t before. Just above the spot where you enter the card number, there are greyed out credit card symbols (don’t know if it’s my screen or my eyes but I just didn’t see them before). Click on one and it stays highlighted. I chose the symbol that matched my card type, and then entered all the information again. This time it worked!

/sigh

Anyway, it occurs to me that maybe I’m not the only one who missed those card symbols. I hope this helps someone get out of the support queue.

The sport of bot hunting

Before bots are banned, I’m wondering if Anet could leave them online, but in a status that makes it so they are unable to pick anything up (no more profit), and make it so we players can target them? At the moment of death, permaban kicks in. Hopelessly marked for death, and players get to be Grenth. I for one would take great pleasure in getting hunting parties going and mobbing the bots. The wild new sport of bot hunting! ;-)

Has your favorite profession changed?

Tibicia.8315

If you had asked me in Sept what my favorite profession was I would have said ranger, and I would have probably added that warrior would be my last choice. I’ve played many RPGs, and have never liked simple melee in any game that I’ve played prior to GW2. However, I had a name from GW1 that I didn’t want to lose and created a warrior in October to hold onto that name for me. Then I played it a little, and…I played some more…and… Holy Skritt! I’m having so much fun spinning and jumping and shouting.

Anyone else discover a new favorite profession that took them by surprise?

Deer are overpowered

I came to agree about the OPness of Deer but to add that they have nothing on a flock of angry chickens.

I have to admit, the time I hit a chicken in Ebon Hawk, I ended up running for my life. I was screaming out loud (and much to my family’s amusement), “Chickens! Chickens! Holy ____, don’t mess with the chickens!”

How many people here still kill the dragons?

I do, and even more since I heard about the dragon timer. Even if I only get blues, it pays for the jump. If I happen to get a yellow item or two, well then if it’s not something I intend to keep then at least I’m likely to a get a little ecto.
Most of all, I really enjoy the great big mob all working towards one goal and helping each other out. Even afterwards, if I’m QQing in chat over “just blues,” I’m still sitting there irl with a big stupid grin on my face.

The diversity of the human npcs in their respective districts

I tend to agree with the original comment about Divinity’s Reach being disappointing in it’s overly Ascalonian appearance. Mostly because the genetics don’t quite match my understanding of the lore, but also because I take great joy in having a full palette to play with during character creation. (Btw, I never make characters that look like me, as that would be terribly boring) I remain hopeful that expansions will bring in more faces and hairstyles, and we will see the diversity of NPCs we saw in GW1.
