How is having the option for melee attack range or 1200 range, be CLUMSY in combat? you make no sense.
There is an lack of an ability to be swift outside of combat.
No other class has this flaw. Even an engineer or Ele can create constant persistent swiftness when trait-ed right.
Revenant needs a 2nd Weapon, but not for the reasons you may think or you already see the flaw.
Yes I get that A-Net wants a single weapon class for each armor set, however the mechanic as it is does not work. Before any fight begins you are stuck with either ranged or melee, thus you have no combat options to maneuver in the battlefield.
In comparison to the Engineer or Elementalist consider the following.
Engineer’s have kits, that cover primary combat versatility, and is by default mostly a ranged class with some melee options. When equipped right, this gives multiple ranged options and skills for sustained combat.
An average Engineer has far more skills than you might realize.
Average build for an engineer.
Pistol/Pistol 5 skills Range 900
Med Kit 5 skills plus 1 tool belt.
Flame Thrower 5 skills plus 1 tool belt. Range 600
Elixir Gun 5 skills plus 1 tool belt. Range 1200
Bomb Kit 5 skills plus 1 tool belt. Melee AoE Range 1200 if Grenade kit’s are equipped.
Elite. 1 plus 1 tool belt.
Total skills 31 or less
That’s about 31 skills going into combat with both close and ranged attacks multiple options for sustained healing or group healing.
Elementalist (with a lightning trait-ed glyph and arcane build)
Staff 20 skills Range 1200 to melee
Dagger / Dagger 20 skills Range 600 to melee
Scepter Offhand 20 skills Range 900 to melee
Heal 1 skill
Slot 3 skills
Elite 1 skill
Attunement 4 skills
Total skills 29 to 25 skills going into combat, both ranged and close attack options no matter what weapon set.
Now I included the Attunements as skills since if you trait right, you create 4 powerful instant cast skills granting, swiftness, regeneration, passive AoE regeneration, Fury, Protection, and Might. Thus since activation creates a beneficial effect in combat it must be categorized as a skill with short cool downs. Now admittedly not all Elementalist’s are built in this fashion but it shows the versatility unique to the Elementalist functionality.
Revenant
Weapon 5 skills either ranged or melee
Stances 2 optional non skills usable as stun breakers.
Healing 2 one for each stance
Utility 6 one for each stance
Elite’s 2 one for each stance
Total skills 15 and maybe 17 if the stances had a measurable combat effect.
Also, you are extremely limited in your combat options as either melee or ranged, limiting your combat versatility.
The primary issue, is it’s either RANGED, or it’s MELEE with a lack of versitility. No other class in the game has this drawback unless by intent of the player. I don’t know of anyone who plays in this fashion. Even the average thief or warrior who equips an average of 16 skills, has one optional ranged weapon set option in his build. The Revenant does not have this option and it’s a fatal flaw.
Yes please stop with one day sales, please bring back white wings and also glasses. Heck, just make a day where all items are actually able to be purchased.
Well that’s not actually true, I’ll use my Hunters Backpack as an example.
Default stats are 22 /16 /16 level 80 with an exquisite Ruby 25 / 15 / 15 = 47 / 31 /31
Crafted stats are 32 /18 /18 level 78 with an Ruby Crystal 14 / 11 / 11 = 46 / 29 / 29
now this might not seem like much, but the numbers don’t lie, these are crafted inferior items.
but they can’t use exquisite gems.
Well they are not cheaper, their advantage is, they give you the back pack stats of an item you are seeking. So if you desire to complete a set of cleric’s including the backpack, then it’s possible to have a cleric’s backpack, or celestial for the cost of a) maxing out your profession to 400, b) roughly the same cost as purchasing any other exotic (orange) item from the Black Lion Trading in materials. Considering you can purchase a backpack with Karma this is not a balance issue, only an issue on getting the completed set of a gear set such as all cleric’s you are trying to reach.
Why are crafting backpacks (Exquisite) level 78 and not 80?
This makes crafting backpacks almost pointless at level 80, because you cannot ad any exquisite level 80 options on them.
I don’t understand the OP’s question. I’ve been gone a year and just came back into the game. My armor has not changed, my build has not changed, and I’m still watching my enemies beat the hell out of themselves with confusion. I use Scepter & Sword / Staff and my AoE is fantastic, plus stacks of confusion spreading everywhere.
If they go though with these changes, it will harm an elementalists utility (heal + Boons+ minor AoE damage) effectiveness. Having the boons is what allows the elementalist to survive with low health, while being able to dodge into the middle of enemies and drop minimal AoE damage, risk taking hits and live, or heal and apply boons to allies effectively.
TA Storymode is broken, if you defeat Faolin, she gives you infinite Chests and xp. You could level a toon from 55 to 80 just by accepting the reward. Reward is continuous spawning.
Just completed Marionette Server event, for Sactom of Rall Even completed just prior to server reset, and Chest did not spawn for my Character. Disconnected once early in fight got back in same server zone to complete mission. Currently in the zone where Chest is supposed to spawn but no Check, no reward.
what happened to my Chest and achievement?
having huge lag spike’s today seeing several continual party wipes in dungeons from it. Logging in from Southern California.

DO NOT use the VPN suggestion for this link listed in this thread. There was a virus attached with that download from CNET. I was able to fix the issue by using system restore before the last update, but I don’t know if this is a permanent fix. In the game right now.

In California, Client gets to Downloading 0KB (0KB/sec) and stays there. -assetsrv assetcdn.101.alternate.arenanetworks.com added to the target line. [“C:\Users\genariccomputername\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv assetcdn.101.alternate.arenanetworks.com] and still not working.
Storymode in Honor of the Waves is absurd, and not necessary for the bar to be set so high. Agreed, the dungeons need an overhaul and difficulty reduced. Many bosses should have half of the health they have, and many Silver’s are hitting way beyond someone’s capacity to withstand the hit.
Please complete the following Set’s of support gear. The following EXOTIC gear sets are missing from the game and are necessary for proper support builds, for players who enjoy maxing out in support.

*Apothecary also has a major issue of high cost, please reduce the required item’s necessary to craft such items, and increase the drop rate. Rare Passion flowers should be made available for armor just as Orbs are available for armors. As it is right now a full suit of EXOTIC Apothecary runs at 300 gold or more. This is absurd for an armor set of gear.
My Authentication email’s for the game client login are taking roughly 15 to 20 minutes to appear in my email box.
However if I log into my account management directly, I get my Authentication email for account management right away.
Still waiting of my client log in verification to play the game.
Everything is gone, everything I’ve worked for since the game went online is gone. All I have left are the characters, all the armor weapons equipment gone. They did not go through my email, there was no notification of changing the password, nothing. Is there a human being I can talk too?

Tungsten, support is weak stand alone, more people are bringing zerkers cause they read somewhere it’s the cool thing to do, most of these people are not panning out to know how to play those zerkers and sadly for me to admit, most of those zerkers are leveling as zerker build so not really a zerker, they seem more like Zer….., It’s terrible the only groups I have not been able to get through AC with were 4 Zerker levelers and myself what ever toon I’m on. Sure 4 Zerks and a Mesmer can speed farm CoF at 80 geared, but sadly even the leveling guides out there don’t focus around what kind of build would be useful in a dungeon at >40, 40-60, they all focus on 80. So a lot of people try to use optimal 80 builds at adept traits… when I level a character I consider 3 builds along the way, hell you get a repect when you by the book, why not. Support is a great thing when multiple players use some and can coordinate it, stand alone 1 person trying to be supportive while 4 try to be glass cannons and also don’t know the instance is for the birds. You are in a large guild so you may not have to deal with this.
It does suck for engies that they have so few weapon choices, a lot of people end up running with a shield plus their short range does make them a high threat so a lot of people become discouraged with the profession. 1 hit downs are usually certain boss abilities that can be avoided when someone is on top of things, I have seen so many people stand still on the Cave Trolls new stomp/shockwave ability. the stomp is easy to see, everyone is pretty much looking at the troll or their ui, there are no other adds unless he is kited to them, the shockwave travels kinda slowly and yet, 3 players downed again… how do I get in close to revive these idiots? It does not matter what profession you are against this ability, if everyone is a glass cannon, it’s dodge or die. I don’t feel it’s lazy on Arena Net like some other posts have mentioned out there, I feel it’s lazy on the player to say kitten Anet, I’m not gonna do this mechanic properly.
Look, the only reason I’m even bothering posting, is I see the frustations of the guild runs I do.
As a single player, I consider myself within the top 5% of the meta gamers. Most of my toons have 2 to 3 sets of exotics for various builds situations etc… Heck I even change armor and weapons between fights to get the most optimal DPS, or SUPPORT I can possibly muster. I’m a Munchkin and not ashamed to be one.
That said. I stand by my complaints, as it’s taking a toll on the average player, and guilds who would not otherwise come here and make a complaint, as they really don’t wish to be trolled by others telling them how much they suck. Their complaints are legitimate complaints.
There is zero reason for players to be forced to endure boss fights with boss’s having overwhelming health, and boss’s who hit and down almost any non warrior in the game. There is no reason to engage a team of 8 or more silver’s who spread so much AoE it party wipes non warrior builds or teams.
the issue is not the warrior, the issue is either the other classes natural debuff in comparison in their ability to soak damage, or the health, and damage of the mobs they face.
There is some reverse trolling here, the Dungeons are way over the top difficult for the average player. Those thanking the Devs for increased difficulty are trolling the average players.
There was no need to increase the difficulty of AC or any other Dungeon. If you want them difficult then add a hard mode, and for regular mode add a sixth member or reduce the difficulty by 40%.
Right now all paths, all dungeons are absurd, GW1 was nothing like this, and this game had so much potential.
I will be looking at ESO, leaving and not returning.

story mode is for the average player. explorer mode is for the hardcore player and guilds.
but explorer mode is still too easy.right now all paths, all dungeons are a joke. because all you have to do to finish them is autoattack. there is no difficulty.
if u have a hard time doing ac explorer, then you dont understand the game and you probably dont know where your dodge key is.a little quote here for you

Whoever made that quote, is arrogant. I suspect that is an ANet employee. They should be ashamed of themselves. Most player’s work for a living in a job they don’t care much for, stressed, and look forward to their 3 hours of escape, and casual conversations over Team Speak with people they only know through voice chat. They don’t wish to study the current Meta’s, and turn the game into a second job.
If this is really the attitude of A Net, then they shot themselves by arrogance and ignorance of the average frustrations to the average joe player.

ANET does not have their act together. Yes you may have my money, but you won’t be getting my money from the BLTC.You cannot be serious. Normal mode UW, FoW, the Deep, DoA, etc. were ALL harder than GW2 dungeons.
Not to mention no other MMO I’ve played has had easier dungeons than GW2. If you believe AC, even the new AC, is exceptionally difficult then you really need to take a step back and evaluate your play.
No they were not, we had parties of 8 players. We had damage mitigation from BONDS, Direct Heals, Protective Spirit, Spirits, 50% blocks, and other forms of protection. This meant it was possible to fight Mallyx and still only take 10% of your total health in a single hit, with spirits as a passive. We even had shouts from Paragons that had damage mitigation and constant though a Yellow Way build, or Permagons spams. You really know very little of the different meta’s in GW1. Not to mention Necro’s with 11 minions, or Ritualists with 7 Spirits.
A common guild build or solo build with HERO’s could put out an army 55 bone horror minions from 5 necro’s and 16 spirits from the other 3 Ritualists, not to mention 8 players that could survive easier, than what the current game offers.
In the old game I remember doing the above dungeons with all Ranger Teams and the pets survived just fine, in this game, Pet’s are 1 hit wonders. They are hit once, they die,, you summon the next pet, they are hit once or run though an AoE, and they die.
I think it’s great that Warriors can be warriors in this game, but it takes away from the game, when all there is left, is the warrior zerg fest.
The design goals of this game included any class, any team, any dungeon.
If players want a Hard Mode, GREAT! I’m all for it, but design it for the small % who are good enough to meta game the dungeons. Meanwhile reduce the health and damage of what is currently the S&M Anet calls dungeons.
If a member of A Net would like to join our guild some time and run with us, we run dungeons almost every night, and we would love as a guild to provide in game feedback and our concerns though open chat in our TS server.
Most of our people don’t bother with the forums for obvious reasons. People don’t like making a legitimate complaint, and being trolled for it.
some misconceptions here.
1) Our Guild of 250+ players don’t usually use warriors.
2) Support roles are usually Ele’s and if Guardians are in they are required to bring Battle Presence, just to ensure some survivability for not just themselves, but others.
3) very rarely do we bring warriors in dungeons.
4) Most members don’t bother bringing their Engineer’s even if they enjoy playing them, because they can’t survive.
5) Most Theif’s are 1 hit down’d, as well as most Guardians, Ele’s and always Pet’s (making pets useless in a dungeon).
If the Dungeons were balanced for all warrior teams, then there is a disconnect with under balancing other classes.

And it’s not necessary for thief’s or guardians to have low health. Most guardians are being forced into battle presence for dungeon runs to survive the day. Having a higher health will encourage other builds and armor selections.
The reason the Guardian has lower health was because it had good healing abilities in beta. As it is, currently a Mesmer can out DPS, and out heal a Guardian, thus no longer necessary to punish the Guardian even further, Just because a Guardian has a few healing abilities or traits.
As for the Thief, I’m tired to cleaning them off the floor in a dungeon, they are excluded for a reason. Low health is an issue, on both builds, and survivability.
I assure you my Necro with 28,000 health on Carrion gear, can Annihilate my Ele with Carrion Gear, since the Ele’s has very little health in comparison. The damage output is about the same. Healing is actually superior with a Necro than the Ele’s as it is, using Shaman’s, or Apothecary’s armor. Also a Mesmer is superior than an Ele’s healing using cleric’s on a Mantra Healing build.
I’m not saying move everything to tier 3, Necro and Warrior tier health.
I’m suggesting move all classes to Tier 2 health, the same as a Ranger, Engineer, and Mesmer, but grant the Warrior some minor extra survivability such as a passive extra toughness and vitality due to his level. Such as a passive 2 points per level of extra toughness and vitality just for being a warrior.
I recognize the warrior as something that should have a slightly higher health and vitality of some kind. I believe this is in keeping with their class design concepts.

It’s silly for a necromancer to have such a huge health pool. It’s also silly for thief’s, Elementalists, and Guardian’s to have such a low health pool.
Make everything Tier 2, including the Warrior. That said I still believe the Warrior should have a higher toughness and vitality than other classes.
Give the Warrior a passive class ability that grants passive toughness, and vitality bonus based upon their current level. This would equivocate them to a tier 3 health.
This would be more balanced than the current state of the game for PvE.
Since Blueprints can be traded, just remove the “bound” option altogether.
I’ll take what you said as Sarcasm. Cleric based Elementalists have proven extremely useful in Fractals and other Dungeons.
Yes the game needs a desperate fix for Ele’s in PvE, and a few other classes in PvE.
Call it what you want, I would suggest “Sorcerer” Armor type.

This armor would appeal to Elementalist players who desire to play a ranged attacker in PvE without worrying about being one shot downed, in must dungeon area’s. Most Ele’s are being forced into builds that require high amounts of WATER attribute just to survive, or a form of Bunker ELE for solo play in PvE area’s. We would like some armor choice flexibility, as other classes enjoy. Carrion is nice but not all builds focus on conditions, some players would enjoy playing a lighting based build for PvE play, that can survive dungeon ranged attacks without resorting to “Bunker” or Water / Arcane focused builds.
Already there is a similar item for players in PvP, just add the option in PvE as a cloth only item if you are concerned about Warriors using such gear.
Well I was going to purchase some Cleric Items for some of my Characters, however there are no Ascended “Cleric” items available.
There are plenty of Damage and Control types of gear for builds that deal Damage and Control, but nothing for the support based concept. Now before anyone says, Anet does not believe in Healers, I don’t believe any class is a direct healing class. The best that can be offered as healing builds are Point Blank AoE area heals, such as Mesmer Mantra builds, or Wells and Marks regenerations.
Wasn’t one of your gaming foundations based upon the idea of support based Characters in Dungeons? If not then why have any armor with healing as an attribute at all?
As long as these alternative Healing based armor’s exist, the necessity of Support based Characters exist. Otherwise, running a support based Character becomes pointless in High End Fractals where it is actually necessary, as you will be killed by high end Agony without it.
Please add the following Ascended trinket stat options as follows in order of priority.
Cleric’s
Magi’s
Apothecary’s
Giver’s
Shaman’s
If you don’t like people running support builds, then please remove all armor that increases Healing in the game, but don’t punish support based play by removing it from Ascended Gear.

CAMP from SoR would like to thank the 30+ zerg members we wiped out earlier today in the EB JP. Our record for holding the EB JP was 12 hours. When we have all members on board it’s not uncommon for us to hold for 6+ hours. As a small guild, we don’t just hold the JP, we dual man the supply camps while splitting into several groups. Our small teams can out zerg a zerg, so there is room for the small guilds in WvW if set up right. ANY DEV IS WELCOME TO JOIN US AND SEE WHAT WE DO.
Sadly this topic is taboo to talk about. A Net has admitted some of these, unspeakable things do exist. I see it ever night we CAMP the JP in Sanctum of Rall. Wold love for a Dev to join us and see what the posters are referring too.
On behalf of CAMP and the “others” we thank you. CAMP is always happy to port you. All we ask in return is supply and some assistance from time to time for when we defend the puzzle.
I don’t believe for an instant, these dungeons are tested by “regular” casual players. I’m sure the testers they have are top notch, but, the vast majority of the player base are not top notch.
This means the testers were unqualified to test these dungeons. You don’t test something from experts, you test something for the average “Joe or Mary” to see a market response.
As it is, only a very few exceptional players in our 120 plus roster of players have the exceptional qualities to beat these death traps.
Guild wars dungeons were fun, and balanced. The ones here are cruel, evil, pointless, and un fun.
ANYONE who says “dungeons are just fine” are full of it. The dungeons are absurd, and I’m now at the point of telling EVERYONE DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Dungeons are not fun anymore, and now only exclusionary groups are running them, thus if your class and traits are not perfect, combined with all yellows, and level 80’s do not attempt it. I don’t care as a player, if people speed farm, normal players cannot complete these, nor do they devote their lives to complete them. Evading attacks is irrelivant when the mobs are faster, spam skills faster, massive AOE’s, and deal enough damage to 2 shot you. You might think you have my money, but what you lose are any costs related to GEM’s. Eventually this will affect your bottom line, and I know I’m not alone here.
What happens if we accidentally report a non bot person for botting, when all they were doing was wandering around in the bot mob looking at it?
The most recent location for bot activity I’ve found was Provatum Castrum. Here there were around 50+ Asura all moving in sync, with levels between 41 and 70+

So I was able to complete Griffonrook Run in under 3 minutes and blow open the chest with the Bomb. NO LOOT? is this a bug or working as intended? I’ve never seen a chest that gives no loot.
