Spear 2 destroys everything with a power build.
Irrelevant, the primary attack attack 3 and 4 is condition damage focused. The weapon should be conditon based and was designed at a time when only 1 weapons was ever considered for the Rev. With the exception of the Elementalists all other classes have two weapons. One for conditions one for Physical damage. This standard should also be applied to the Rev considering the Rev is a two weapon set class.
(edited by Tungsten Monarch.6058)
Rev still needs at least one conditions based ranged weapon and one Physical underwater weapon to complete it’s weapon options and compliments.
As it stands the Rev only has the Mace for a Condition damage and it is purely melee range. A ranged weapon that dealt condition damage would be beneficial for investing in Condition focused armor, that would give the class both a ranged and melee condition play-style option.
Underwater, the ONLY weapon is currently a ranged condition based weapon. This makes no sense considering most builds will only use physical based weapons, limiting the effectiveness of the class underwater. A second weapon option would cover the shortfall.
After playing a Rev for 1 year the class still feels like it’s in Beta, and not completed I think these two additions to the class would clear it from Beta stage.
For reducing memory usage on 32 bit clients. Did not have a crash after 3 hours of play time, first time in weeks, and I was not crashing every 2 to 4 minutes like I was earlier this week.

Still the same solution.
Turn down graphics to absolute minimum or
change your OS to 64bit and build more ram into your pc.My Graphics are turned down to an absolute minimum. I will not change my OS to 64 bit, and the 64 bit clients are running into the same issue. I have played GW2 since release on this computer with one exception. I did change my video card months ago and that is not the issue.
I can play games with higher requirements on my system than the System Requirements of GW2 HoT.
If I compare my system to that system specs of “Can I run it”, my specs more than clear the benchmark for playing Guild Wars 2.
So for someone who does not work for ANet to comment is either trolling, or a busybody who actually does not know what he’s talking about.
1) Continue to crash and wait for some fix sometime in the future
or
2) Upgrade your systemIt is your choice.
And please show me the posts of players using the 64bit client with at least 8 gb ram running into OOM crashes. I’m genuinely curious about that because most say that the crashes stopped completely and I personally have seen only one such post.
And in that case the log suggested that the error was caused by something else.

Still Crashing, again, most crashes does not load the error report it just ends the program, completely.

Well came home hoping to play the Raid, the game client is still crashing. However now it’s crashing while loading the map the selected Character is in, or crashes 2 minutes entering the map such as Lions Arch.
This started after last update today. Crashing ever 2 to 4 minutes. Copied and Pasted since most crashing since the last update is not even starting the crash report cycle. However this one stayed long enough for me to copy this.

What’s worse is all the crippling ranged attacks that snare your ability to run from one location to another, filled with over powered mobs. Can’t find people for HERO Challenges, and have yet to do one HERO Challenge in TD.
Celestial Stat’s … what status do you give Celestial gear.
Assaulter, Defender, Healer, or Malicious?
Perhaps the OP is right, perhaps every fight with every Champion should be a 3 hour life or death fight where the Champion 1 shots you in either Sentinels gear or Knight’s gear. Perhaps A Net should just get rid of healing too. /sarcasm
250 is good, most of my alts have +175 to 215 that have not entered HoT. Works great for us with one of each class at 80.
Client crashing constantly, perpetually.
I’m sorry man…. I have to laugh out Loud on this one…. Lucky for me I used my inta 30 first.

No reason for any tree to be worth more than any other Tree. The cost should be about 60 points. 400 is bullkittens. What a way to blow your release.
Instant 80, Instant exotics, full weapons, armor and Jewelry.
I don’t like the GW2 leveling system, compared to the original leveling system.
I don’t like the turret, it dies too fast with a fixed location. The old method I used was more fun, and practical, I can click med kit, then click out of med kit to a flame thrower and move on. Turret’s take maintenance and repair. Now if they self healed like they used to I could see taking a healing turret. Also the Elite skill supply crate covers heal turret if necessary and it’s place-able still.
Yes I noticed my Rune’s of Dwayna have become ineffective for 5 second party regeneration. I only noticed this recently. Heck it does not work for the tool belt kit either, no stacking duration regeneration. 5 out of 10 Seconds of party regeneration was the appeal to the build I ran for party support.
Sad…
Wait… Do you mean you’re trying to craft full ascended celestial for 9 characters?
No, currently only for my Guardian and Elementalist. My Warrior has mostly Ascended Cleric’s, almost complete. As for my other toons, I’d prefer Celestial for them just as Exostic’s.
it takes months to craft a full set of Celestial gear, weapons, etc.
1 charged quartz per day
5 charged quarts per armor piece
30 days for an armor set.
You shouldn’t need more than 6 weapons per character. So 2 months per toon. What I am really curious about is why you are making so many sets. Celestial isn’t always the best option. You could just make 3 sets of ascended and switch them between toons.
I doubt if the 1 per day will change, it controls the production of other items such as grow lamps and charged ambrite sheets. I would like them to be tradeable but I doubt if this will happen.
Celestial works for the builds I run, plus it’s 30 days for Armor, 25 for Jewel’s, 5 for each weapon, so if I did just 6 weapons, that’s 85 days.
No offense but that’s just for Exotic’s IF I log in each day for 85 strait days. … this is insanity.
There is no need for any character to take 85 days to get equipped correctly.
Just exotic for 4 toons, I’ve only 1 set of ascended celestial on another toon. I’d love to make a set for the others. The issue is time based crafting.
As it stands converting 25 Quartz Crystals at a Place of Power, limited to once per day per account, means it takes months to craft a full set of Celestial gear, weapons, etc.
Any chance on having this changed soon.
I’m now of toon number 5 of 8 soon 9, this gets very very very old over time.
I tested the Druid, don’t delete the water line.
As it is, soothing mist stacks with everything except soothing mist, your basic attack is an excellent buff heal every 3/4th seconds.
Not to mention if you learn to rotate your skills as you should, you can supply a steady stream of AoE DPS, in addition to healing.
Water synergies very well with Druid, but Druid is not a replacement for a healing Ele.
Celestial and traveler runes, it works.
Guardian is over rated with healing, other classes heal much better, however a Guardian in groups with other Guardians with Battle Presence and your Elite Signet, you have your spike healing. Thus I’m looking forward to Blue-Way Guardian only Groups.
With the exception of a thief, any class can heal quite well if built right, even including the necromancer.
What I’m concerned with are the concepts of heal only builds for the 10 Raid. There are bound to be TRI FECTA groups who not only believe tank heal nukes are the only way to run a Raid. In the original Guild wars it was not the TRI FECTA’s that ran the best, but the Synergistic play style and builds. Thus you had Yellow-Way, Barrage Pet Ranger builds, Minion Factory’s etc that did the best job’s at clearing Domain of Anguish, or UrgozWarren, or even the Deep. Rather than just thinking what is best for healing how about thinking what is best for Synergy. I’d like to see some builds like Blue-Way, Shout Way (10 Cleric Shout heal Warriors) or Druidway, or even Fire/Ice (Flame throwing Engineering medics with Cold life stealing Necros) … I mean honestly get creative, and the classes should be synergistic.

AOE Healing is king, and do not underestimate the Flag healing Cleric Geared Warrior, with Sigil of water and life, or benevolence, plus runes of Dwayna or Monk.

Ascended Gear to be Required for Raids
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Tungsten Monarch.6058
This is BULLKittens and here is why. Currently I’ve one toon with Ascended full armor and weapons that’s Cleric’s gear for my warrior. I did this to play a Flag wielding tank, not to zerk. This has take a very long time to create and as much as I enjoy the toon, I don’t play him very often. Now here is the issue, if I want to raid, I have to play THIS toon and nothing else. Casual players will never be allowed into HOT raids even if they are a good player. Not due to skills but due to gear.
You’ve just re created the mess that was WOW years ago, and created such elitism few will be able to run the content.
Build Eliteism
Class Eliteism
Gear Eliteism
Please re consider the difficulty of the content and consider toning it down some. Don’t create another Domain of Anguish Absurdity where only the top 1% can see or play the content upon release.

If you wanted to create a healing spec all you had to do was buff the existing nature spirits. What the ranger needed was an AoE control spec. Whoever is designing these new classes should be fired.
It should be a symbol, there has always been the appearance of a bias to “good guy” themed classes. Low health, long recharges on self heal’s etc. Pushing players into meta’s and gimmick builds.
Litany of Wrath because it’s a Meditation and currently running a full Meditations build.
I agree, so leave the skills are they are, give them range, let them stack with symbol trait’s by calling them symbols. Problem solved.
To the female attire designer’s, REAL MEN LIKE UNIFORMS type clothing styles. Think masculine details with functions, look at the clothing styles of Men in Uniform. There are only a few good looking male armors and styles out there.
How about a REAL FLATOP hair cut for my male warrior please. Too many women making hair decisions for male toons in this game. Real men get hair done at a barber shop so please spend a day there to get an idea on how MALE (non-metro-sexual) hair is done correctly.
1. Condition Zerker WTF?
2. PBAoE Trick Shot?
3. Stoned Healing Monk.
4. Gimme Bunny Thumper!
5. This Damage Horribad
6. Needs a Flush
7. Total Bad kitten
8. Bubbles and Swimsuits.
9. Time will tell.
it is not 8 symbols per guardian the most would be 6 1 from weapon, 1 from heal, 3 skills, 1 elite.
it is not 8 k damage per tick
How is this any less dangerous than a group of Staff / Marks wielding “Well” life stealing necro’s?
Is there any hope in increasing the effectiveness of this fantastic under valued concept skill?
Med Blaster currently.
Heal allies with a wave of healing energy. Heals more for each boon on that ally.
Healing Base Healing: 73 (0.033)?
Healing Healing for Each Boon: 8 (0.0033)?
Range: 600
This skills’ usefulness is terrible, and it has so much potential.
Suggestion 1) Increase the Base Healing to 80 + (0.1 * Healing Power) same as healing mist. This makes the Engineer have some healing support role potential without the worry about his or her healing turret being 1 shot by everything.
Suggestion 2) applies poison to enemies at (3s): 302 Damage same as poison cloud, and continues with the current rate of AoE healing. In this way you are causing harm while helping to keep an ally alive at the same time.
Suggestion 3) increase the range to 900 in a large cone effect to heal more in an area.
I’m sure you good people at Anet can come up with some good idea’s for this fantastic under valued skill.
Right now your average water ele, can supply well over 900 healing health a second to a large area and I have managed to create builds that supply 2000 health a second from a water focused Ele, the Engineer has a lot of potential to be a good party support healer also so please consider it.
Thank you.
As it stands right now I can out party heal my Guardian with a Necro, Warrior, Elementalist, Mesmer and Engineer, so a Rev out-healing my Guardian is nothing new.
Traps are bad by design. These Guardian “trap” skills are for a RANGED class. It makes no sense to give them non Ranged skills for a Ranged specialty that focuses on the Long bow. Also Symbols as already designed are for a Guardian only build. This makes them unique to the Guardian. I might as well scrap the bow and just go two handed hammer, but if I wanted to do that, I would not make a dragon hunter would I? no of course not. Hammer has melee AoE and does not need the trap skills to function well.

My Engineer build is a Combat “turn your head and cough" Medic. Properly named Tungsten Medic.
This build functions as a support heal for any team while not sacrificing too much damage in the process, and you can quickly recover from injuries while moving about the battlefield as necessary. Passive regeneration to allies occurs as you fight, the more you fight the more you activate skills the more you heal allies around you. There is a bit of micromanagement but over time it becomes intuitive.
Gear is Celestial gear since you do a bit of everything, damage, damage condition, damage crit, heal, survive etc.
Primary Weapon can be anything but I’ll often use pistol and shield.
Runes are Runes of Dwayna. (+100 healing power +20% regeneration duration 25% chance to grant regeneration 10 seconds every 45 seconds, grants 5 seconds of ) Regeneration on skill activation to all allies in the area translates to 7 seconds.
Weapon Sigils, Sigil of Water+ Sigil of Life
Food, Maintenance Oil for increase critical chance, Omnomberry Pie works fantastic with Flame thrower and Bomb kit skills.
Secondary Skills
Medkit –Bandage self plus 5 other heal skills (Spike Heal plus Regeneration with traits)
Elixer Gun – Healing Mist + Super Elixir (AoE Heal, heals allies for extra with trait)
Flame Thrower – Incendiary Ammo plus AOE self-healing due to food
Bomb Kit – Big O’Bomb plus AOE self-healing due to food
Supply Crate – Med Pack Drop
Alchemy Hidden Flask + Health Insurance + Transmute + Backpack Regenerator + Alchemical Tinctures + Stimulant Supplier
Inventions Cleansing Synergy + Automated Medical Response + Heal Resonator (very important) + Soothing Detonation (applies to Bomb kit use) + Medical Dispersion Field (Amplifies healing to others in AoE)
Tools Optimized Activation + Static Discharge + Mechanized Deployment + Streamlined Kits + Excessive Energy + Adrenal Implant
Fixing a bad design by keeping the bad design is not a fix. Yes Changing the skill functionality from trap to symbol does FIX the issue.
Trying to patch or fix a bad mechanic only creates a bad mechanic that does not work.
1) Make Traps Symbols this has been strongly suggested by the community.
2) Give the Symbols range like Necro Staff Mark skills, and Ranger traps used to be.
3) Get rid of bouncing Arrows on the Longbow, no reason to make the Longbow like a Thief Short-bow Trick Shot you are taking away a unique resource of the thief . I’m sure you can come up with something better than a Guardian version of Trick Shot.
As it stands right now the current staff wielding Necro can out DPS and Heal a Dragonhunter specialty class using Staff ( ranged piercing) Marks (ranged traps) and Wells (Ranged Symbols) with higher hit points and functionality.
I have to agree with the OP except the range should be 1200 like the Necro’s Staff skills.
1) Symbols have additional effects due to other non dragon Hunter trait lines giving players valuable secondary trait options.
2) Symbols are currently only weapon based skills thus it retains the Guardian feel to them. Thus it opens up the Symbols as slot skills.
3) Symbols … all of them create a combo light fields giving additional versatility.
One thing that MAYBE would be doable is allow players to lock a weapon/weapon set to a legend.
This I don’t like as it does not fully address the issue. As pointed out above, not only is the Revenant severely reduced in skill options (10 or more skill options) compared to the Elementalist, or Engineer you have no option to select a ranged option if you go melee weapons as a primary attack mode. I don’t believe anyone desires to be stuck with hammer constantly, in order to survive most encounters. Just give the class a 2nd weapon option and supply 2 more legend stances, and it’s on an even footing with other class options for skills and for survivability. People tend to forget even the Necro has 20 skills going into a fight, Rangers have 19 (this includes the 4 from his/her pet) and Mesmers have 19 (4 shatters +1 more with expansion) and will have 20 upon THORN release.
Just make sure that you have the camera angled straight ahead and are not looking down at the ground as this effects how far leap/movement skills (like heart seeker) make the player travel.
Thank you, you just validated my argument. It’s not intuitive.
Limited Options
I disagree on stupid class design, I think if A-net considers the class flaw’s it will make the necessary changes.
Surprisingly I like the current tablet set up. I don’t want it to auto follow, rather I’d prefer to move it as necessary then stay put.
REVS ARE NOT GETTING WEAPON SWAP
I did not know you made design decisions for A-Net. The lack of an ability to alter melee and go ranged during combat is a major design flaw. No other class in the game has this flaw. Not to mention a severe lack of versatility.
