So much hypocrism in this thread, i can totally understand UW’s thought of willing to drop, when being a server with a lot of pugforce behind their strenght, and knowing you’ll have to fight 7 weeks of being outmanned vs mostly bunkerguilds and higher numbers the prospect doesn’t look rather fun, not everyone wants to play in a bunkerguild to compete or enjoys bunkerwars as much as these people do, nor does everyone want to transfer away from their home server.

If anything the massive transfers with the announcement of the league’s the past months have changed the landscapes of servers more then any of these players have, and sadly their approach is simply a naturel reaction of the motion set in place by Anet’s decision to hold league’s.

I’m glad FSP got some much needed love and we’ll at least be able to hold our ground in the silver league now, but without the influx we recently gotten i can imagine, offpeak and not being in a guild in primetime could turn a lot of our pugs also down in a similiar situation.

Let’s face it people prefer somewhat balanced matches and not stomps, 300k to 100k matches or even worse are often not the most fun overall for either side, and if you’d have to choose to be on one of those sides it’s naturel most would choose to be on the stomping side.

Yeh i totally get what your saying, but for the last 4 weeks UW have been sitting at rank 17 which is silver league material, and we can go back even further they were rank 16 and 14 etc. Which they have proved they are a strong force. My point is that in the last 30 weeks they would have only dropped into the bronze league twice (if leagues were in place going by rank) so they don’t actually belong in bronze league. 3 weeks ago they they won against us with a 68k lead (I know we had 2 guilds transfer since this match up). 6 weeks ago they beat GH while GH was ranked higher than them. I’m aware that server strength changes a lot due to transfers week in week out, but from how it looks the people are only jumping ship since this decision was made (which sounds like it was a bad decision), so before that they were practically at roughly the same strength within that 6 week period.

Edit: I wont say any more on this situation or reply to anyone quoting me on it, as i am not from UW and the people are right in saying it should be dealt with within UW community, I am however sad to here that the community within UW aint at its best atm and wish you all the best.

None of my guild were informed prior to this decision being made, though as soon as monday came about rumours we’re flying. I don’t know about the other guilds still fighting in eb/bl and if they knew as i can’t speak for them, though i doubt they did.

In all likely hood it was just the few bigger guilds who started that thread that had agreed to do it. it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve upset the server like this.

Shame that, and thumbs up to you and the other guilds that are still pushing on although i wouldn’t be happy if my own server made me have to push harder due to them purposely slacking.

Dear GH and FSP. You might have noticed some of our guilds leaving this week, and none of the remaining ones fighting, Aside from XXX [Rain] [APE] and of course [Gum]. We would like to put more of a fight up, But alas some of our more “senior” community members have destroyed our wvw community this week, We’ve had lots of guild members transfer off uw due to diminishing wvw, and some guild have even just plain left Underworld. And i honestly say that i’m sorry we can’t put up more of a fight for you guys. Until recently i had no idea why this was and it has just come to light that this is the work of our own guilds and such, in a twisted idea that has completely backfired.

I’d just like to make clear that i think the guild leaders mentioned in the following link are the leaders of a “fractured” part of underworld and do not represent our whole view of world versus world. They are a dissapointment to our server and this entire game mode. Please enjoy this.

Very sad to hear about whats going on with your community, just read the thread you linked and tbh there was alot of FSP who had the same idea as this, but in the long run your going to be ping ponged between bronze and silver league and your first really hard fight in silver is going to demoralize your server big time (which I would hate to see for any server) and you ain’t gonna budge from being back and fore between the 2 leagues. We chose to give it all we got and push to grab a safe spot in silver to push harder to raise the ladder, we had 2 guilds transfer (very nice guys may I add) and the folks that have been doing night shifts are the same guys n girls that are playing through the day too, they are putting in obscene hours and are on the verge of burning out bless them. All in all i would say don’t think of the glory of bronze to get stronger, the ones you want in WvW are the ones that still give it all you got when they are losing not just when they are winning. I seriously hope you can rebuild your community and rethink this crazy idea, and think in the long run further than you initially thought.

Yes your gonna end up with some nice numbers winning the bronze league, but the wrong type of people. They will be the people that only play when your winning, which will knock you straight back from silver to bronze again, going down this road you may even lose more than you already have which means more to replace, In which case you may not even get to win bronze.

I’ll say it again I hope this is not your only solution and you find another way in any case I wish your community the best of luck and hope to see you again soon which ever road you take.

Even if the mechanic is broken, it wouldn’t be to hard to wipe us. You could easily put people on the watergate exit and north inner exit, send 2 groups upstairs the ramp, 1 on the roof and 1 in the Lord’s Room. You guys had 80+ people while we had about 30 to 40? If you used your mind rather then chasing the lord everytime it was bannered and sending up 1 guild upstairs at a time it’d be done within 5 minutes max by first taking out all the players before caring about the lord.

This is my personal opinion and doesn’t express the guild’s opinion.

Its not about numbers, as VoTF said it was about the broken mechanics of the situation at hand, I personally only caught half the fight and was board as hell. We tried nearly everything we could of tried, we stayed in circle/we went up ramp/roof/walls/waypoint/portal exits/on lord, it was probably impossible in that situation or if not impossible it would have been for a lot longer.

We didn’t mind the numbers i thought it was pretty fair in numbers, it was the banners and wp I see it as no fault of ur own as I would have done the same if i was desperate to save a keep etc, numbers was fine u were queued and we were queued sounds roughly even to me. Anyway glad you enjoyed it, we didn’t, loot was good but the time on that garrison could have been more productive else where (only speaking personally at the time i got there) the other guys had been there a lot longer bless them

However I didn’t remember that Kale and Punk used to blob together all those times. Really, FSP is the new Blobbadon. We (5 TEO and 15WBC) faced you in front of our spawn in FSP border and you were, AT LEAST 40.
Good fights, really entertaining, but you should end your argument about “you are more than us” since you ALWAYS roam together, while we guilds from GH use to do that only in extremely rare situations as we don’t usually join fights started by other guilds.

On another note, it’s a shame that UW is doing so poorly. They have some great guilds but it looks like they lost the majority of their pugs. Shoutout to XxX: had the BEST fights of the whole night against you in FSP south border

wtf? this is the first time i have ever seen this type of comment aimed at our server, in addition to this, also probably the first match up since back at the beginning of GW2 we have ever been able to do what other always do to us.

May I just remind you that last time we faced GH just a few weeks back you won 1st place with a score of 357,098 to our 2nd place of 171,785. So don’t tell me you achieved a score like that against FSP with out a little advantage while we were sleeping, because it certainly weren’t all from prime time. Although I wouldn’t know if that was before or after your transfer from SFR and they certainly don’t play at night I take it?

I’m guessing that the last time we faced you it may have been a bit boring for you with a lead in ppt’s like that?(if you play for ppt that is), and if so doesn’t it make it more of a challenge and more fun when scores are tighter like this? Stop complaining and enjoy the fights put them ppt’s out of your mind, its a good match up and good fights if ur panicking about the scores dont worry urself, im sure GH has alot up their sleeve for the week days. As for me, win or lose, im having a great time and good fights, our community is closer and stronger than before and hope it shows that we are no longer the Far Dramapeaks.

We did successfully fight groups a lot bigger than us tonight, but on that fight we were against pretty much even numbers.

yeah it was the same group PUNK when the blob they had going on got wiped they split and tried to attack us from behind,and we did not have even numbers at that fight it was blob.

Not at all.

I don’t care if we’re 150k points ahead or 150k points behind, hitting a queue because of people consciously not participating in wvw is negatively impacting my experience. Moving a large force to a new map, only to have 30 of them locked out because of the 15-25 gvg’ers and their spectators taking up slots negatively impacts that entire group.

Losing a keep to blue team while a 20-player organized team is busy having a slap-fight with green team behind the windmill impacts everyone on the map. Red team just lost a keep that those 20 could likely have saved, blue team now has a another keep, and green team has an opportunity to attempt to flip a reset paper keep.

Well that’s pretty silly because what ever you are down in people the other team is down too, I certainly dont have a slap-fight(so you put it) against my own guildies. And tbh many of times we have left a GvG to be continued because the map needs help.

We inform anyone on map before we start that we are having a GvG at windmill if you see swords down there its us, and if things get too heavy for you give us a shout and we will come to try and help.

And we are contributing while doing it we are keeping an enemy guild occupied, we get points for stomps and if there is a queue on that current map we will normally make a decision with opposing guild to see if we can move maps. We are a close net community and help and keep in touch with any of the pug commanders and their movements across all maps. And are always at call if needed unless we are defending or taking something ourselves, in which case see what prioritizes.

Its a free map for people to contribute and play how they want to play, on our server we won’t interfere with the zerg’s way of playing and thankfully they dont interfere with our rare and less frequent GvG’s. They help us and we help them.

Our guild events are every night of the week, for 5hrs at a time, after that we will just break up and do our own thing some make a small strike team others join the pug zerg. Most of us are putting in 7-9hrs a day in WvW, some people play more. Say we fancy having a GvG 1-2 days a week for 1hr at a time, at the back end of the week when the winner of the match is most of the time already decided, Whats wrong with that?

Why do people like you tell us we shouldn’t do it? It has improved my play style a lot, and my guildies play style, so in which case it benefits the server. I have already stated that our server knows they can call on us if we are needed. We will opt in for a map with no queue over a map with a queue. Although points are of no preference to me personally (i play for the fun/fights), the points however are of importance of our community and we will certainly postpone a GvG if our community actually needs us to postpone it and push that bit harder for the points. Whilst I totally agree there is no official GvG in GW2, there is however open field battles (which is part of WvW) where guilds have decided to take a fun open field battle and make it a fair fight which has been dubbed GvG. Since it is the closest thing to it, and the WvW environment is well suited for this, and the Devs have stated themselves that it is a free-for-all-battle, don’t tell me how to play as i don’t tell you how to play.

Just to make it clear we will help out our community 1st and GvG 2nd so we do have our priorities in the right order, so for the hours we put in to WvW and contributing to our server, if we want to GvG then we will kittening GvG. If our server needs us to put GvG on hold for the time being to help them out then so be it. But we certainly shouldn’t be told we can’t do it.

Perhaps thats the fortunate side of not being a server hopper and staying in a mid tier, if there are any queues it will only be on 1 map for a few mins, mainly EB, so it aint a problem.

In my eyes GvG is about:
Wining/losing
learning/improving

its about about practicing against fair competition, working together as a team to take down an another team of similar equality and numbers. And most of all having fun with friends which is is why you play the game. So to have someone tell me I cant do that, and I don’t work hard for my sever is a complete insult.

It still teleports you to the closest ally regardless of health. Is it meant to behave in this way? Making it an AoE and a stun breaker may make it more appealing too.

Thanks for the response Chris, but personally yeh it was wrong of the Dev, but it never would have come to that if the GvG’ers had been more polite from the start, when ever our GvG’s get interruptions we ask politely on the grounds that the person may not know whats happening. At no point before the Dev was being verbally abused to the point of him popping his tag was he told/explained what was actually happening. It seemed very elitist the way he was spoken too, “move”, “go play somewhere else”, “move you kittening kitten ” << all before he popped his tag.

Personally in a situation like that I would have said “hey buddy, we trying to have a GvG here and your in the way, If you wanna watch, you can stand up with the rest of the guys on the hill”. At least then you can tell if he is really trolling or just clueless to whats actually going on.

So as I said yes the Dev was in the wrong but regardless who he was he should not have been spoken to like that without firstly being asked nicely, gives us a bad name and labels us as elitists.

And yes I am a GvG’er and support it fully.

Also shout out to the GuM Ranger who put up a hell of a fight in water camp last night, you would have kept me going for hours and i would have probably ended up walking away and giving up, if you didn’t make the mistake of choosing water combat, as soon as you went into water I smiled to myself and thought “now your mine” Good fight

personally I think we have the numbers, we have the skill, we have a warm welcoming to any new guilds, our community is getting stronger by the day, we are a very strong server at prime time, in my eyes our only weakness which is probably known throughout WvW EU is our night coverage. Prime time we’ll give the best of them the fight they want and deserve.

In all seriousness im very glad to see the support from other servers we face quite regularly which says a lot about what others think of us. In addition, our community is rebuilding nicely, at a steady pace ofc (Rome wasn’t built in a day).

Correct. The idea behind the buff is to incentivize you to show up even if you are outnumbered by pulling out some of the disincentive for losing a lot, but if we put anything too good on it, it will cause serious problems between players. We don’t want it to be something that people fight over, harass each other over, or generally cause a worse play experience because someone takes away the buff because it is our goal for the maps to be full and for no one to have the buff.

What about reversing the role? the ones that have the greater numbers get a de-buff?
Then they cant harass anyone for coming “onto” the map but instead maybe forced to break up the zerg a bit to equally share numbers across other maps, whilst giving the lower population server a fairer fight.

Yeh I noticed that about them 2 guilds too, and its not as if they didnt have the numbers to break away from that blob, because from what i seen there was loads of them. Break away from the blob have some fun, you don’t see Punk, Kale, AoA and DW etc running as 1 blob and lucky you kittening don’t see that, because that blob would leave a mess lol. Break away from the blob and test your guilds limits
