My gf’s client has been downloading the last two files for about 20 minutes now.

Hey there folks.
For awhile now, I have been contemplating starting a series focused on learning more about the players and guilds of the game. Similar to Humans of New York(kind of), Citizens of Tyria is all about learning about the people that share the wonderful world of Tyria with all of us.

I would love to interview as many of you as possible, as well as guilds.

Here is a(very badly and tired) video kind of giving a small explanation of what it will be.

I know it may seem like a silly project, but the community of GW2 is one of the best out there. And there are tons of interesting players and guilds out there.

I’m not trying to offend, but you honestly got ripped.

It’s not that difficult to build you own pc and with all the youtube vids to help, easy stuff – far more beneficial to do it yourself.

I mean, a 3.3 core and you’re paying over 2k – screw that! That’s your biggest mistake yet. A six-core is completely unnecessary for gaming in general. The idea behind multiple cores is essentially for multitasking (i.e. multiple programs at the same time). So if you’re concern is just the game, then you’ll want to focus on the Hz. This is why OC i5’s are still more expensive than i7s or even six-cores.

Why would they sell you an expansion for $40 with all new content when they can just copy and paste 90% of the game and sell it to you for $60 as a whole new game called ‘Wildstar’?

Tested it with a Celebration booster and it does indeed work.
I get like 1k per kill at 54 lmao.

Now the real question is, does the Celebration Booster, 10% EXP buff, Birthday Booster, and Double EXP stack?

I want to say yes, but because I haven’t tested it, I can’t know for sure.

If you have an XP booster, you might try expending that first to see if it gives you and XP increase (i.e. kill some stuff without it, then use it and kill the same things). Then if it looks like it’s working, you should be able to pop your birthday booster and expect similar effects.

That is a good idea.

I was just wondering if the Double EXP event stacks with the Birthday boosters.

Per the NCSoft quarterly report, the sales in China have been less than they expected. Together with the continuous loss in profit, and the inclusion of strategies that free to play games employ to keep players logging in no matter what (such as the reward system for merely logging in the game), it’s easy to see that ArenaNet is becoming desperate.

It’s little suprise to see an expansion. It’s probably ArenaNet’s last bet. It’s still worth noticing, though, that we are getting this now because the other strategies have failed.

PvE progress like what you see in WvW and sPvP is calleed leveling mate. Those Hero Ranks are called levels.

You aren’t going to find a game with better skins out there. Gw2 has the most choices in an mmo I’ve played. Not to mention most the skins do look fantastic. want a normal realistic set of armor? It’s there. Something more fantasy and flashy? It’s also there. What are you complaining about?

Pressing a button is hard.

Pressing a button in order to bring up a window that entirely or partial obscures your view in order to then double click on another icon in a sea of icons, while in the middle of a fight is, in fact, hard. You are correct sir.

A consumable bar, even if it was only two to four keys, would be very helpful, considering the number of consumables available in the game that basically never get used because it’s such an inconvenience to even try.

Hi there.

I just beat Tequatl for the first time, and ended up winning a Benthic Hydrobreather of the Afflicted and a Shard of the Deep from it.

I saw they both had decent sale prices, the Hydrobreather selling for 8g and the Shard selling for 1g.

Since I wasn’t sure on whether or not I wanted to sell the Hydrobreather right away, I went to sell the Shard of the Deep for 1gold and 57 silver.
When I confirmed it, somehow it ended up selling the Hydrobreather instead for the price the Shard was supposed to sell to.
I did not change the price I was going to sell it at all, and went with the default quick sell.

I have no idea what happened, but it makes me a bit sad :/ I’m not really great at getting gold in game so I was pretty excited about getting such a nice catch.

Can anything be done about this?

How does it not work? I think it amazing.
5 other Commanders and I just organized and progressed all the way up to 30 seconds off of Gold. It isn’t hard.
Just don’t be lazy and command better.
It’s a step in the right direction compared to last years follow the Dorito and zerg type of thing.

No. This game doesn’t need a DPS meter. It will turn into just another number game. Just like WoW did. Just like ESO is already becoming. It turns communities toxic. It takes away from the simple “We’re entering a dungeon for adventure and loot” feeling of games that don’t have it. It takes all that away and replaces it all with people only caring about DPS. This is NOT the game for it and it never should be implemented.

I promise you they’ve been working on the broken events. They are aware of it. I got lucky enough to talk to a Dev that was doing Shatterer a few days ago with the lot of us and he told us they were aware of the problems and are working on fixing them.

I can also promise you the game isn’t going “no longer play how you want to play, its more play how we want you to play, and its aimed at those who play for like an hour a day”.

Is there a reason you can’t afford such a small fee to travel…?

I’ve been playing the Guild Wars series since early 2006. Lion’s Arch has always felt like home to me, and when I came back to the familiar city in Guild Wars 2, I was amazed. Even as a revamped rebuilt version it still felt like that familiar city resting on the edge of the sea. I fell in love.

To see it burn and truly get attacked and possibly destroyed actually brought a few manly tears to my eyes.

Nothing has brought me so close to these feels since reading the last Harry Potter book when it first came out.

Thank you Anet, for making such a masterpiece and a world where one can truly get emotionally connected with.

well, im kinda old player here, one week after guild wars 2 launch i already played but i just playing around 1 month and i didnt played after this long time i decide to play it again. so whats really happen in this guild wars 2? im sorry i just need to know it is wroth to play it again? i just got scare when i log in and many people talking about bad word about this game cause i just waste my time to download it again

Nope. If your reply was directed at me, it is ceirtainly not 450k active players.

My guestimated best case scenario would be 550 people x 24 servers. That comes out to 13200, however, as stated it is impossible to calculate because this applies only to the top 6. Then it drops off, and does so very unevenly. There are some bottom servers which are utterly almost empty, and some which do well at least during prime time, but remain on bottom due to coverage, not population gap.

To obtain a good guess you would have to transfer from server to server and play for a month or 2 before you see the particular servers player population.

All in all, I would say there are around 10k to 12k people logging in consistantly for weekend and new content prime time, and around 6k to 8k on weekdays once new events are completed on the NA servers. And as I said, I have no clue about the EU. I do not know for example if its those guys habit to run champ trains consistantly at consisent times map que capacity as we do, etc., thus can not measure.

You people always complain about there not being an expansion yet but do you understand how long it actually takes to make one? Look at WoW. The Burning Crusade didn’t come out until 2007. The game was released in 2004. Just because Anet had a quick release schedule for Guild Wars 1 with the campaigns doesn’t mean it is the same for this game. This is a much more advanced and much bigger game. Be patient. Enjoy the free content you are getting now. Stop complaining about everything. Your expansion will come. And if they have it in the works, which they probably do, they will announce it or hint at it after the Scarlet storyline is over. Give Anet a break for once. They ARE human. Companies generally don’t pop out an expansion this short in.

World of Warcraft was released in 2004. The Burning Crusade came out in 2007.
RIFT came out in March of 2011. Storm Legion was released November 2012.
Star Wars: The Old Republic came out December 2011. Rise of the Hutt Cartel was released April 2013.

You guys are being unrealistic when it comes to your expectations of Anet. These things take a lot of time. So once again, be patient and enjoy the free content that we are getting now.
