Back to the main topic, I can understand the annoyance of the masteries for the initial entry to the jungle, without glider, updraft, or mushroom mastery, traversing the jungle becomes more tedious, especially if you are alone, and there isn’t anyone to revive you, so if you slip and fall, it’s a long walk back.

Ok that’s not true at all. I think you’ve either not played enough or somehow overestimate just how much content was in a living story. I’m not done yet and I can already say there’s at least as much content as in S2.

Well I disagree entirely, and found what was actually there to be quite lacking. Most of the maps are empty of anything actually meaningful. No heart quests, no exploration achievements. You’re guided to where you are by little green dots, and very few of that map space is actually used for anything beyond that. I’ve just found a whole lot of nothing. Yes, NPC enemies and stuff are there, but to what point? Without a reason to be there, its just like Orr. When was the last time you went to Orr for anything other than the Temple events?

Most of the hero points are blocked by useless gating, so even if you do get there, you can’t get them. Just very, very poorly designed.

I wouldn’t really call it real progression, aside from the elite specs themselves. The masteries are mostly gating, instead of progression. You gain some new exploration abilities with gliding and mushrooms, but the lore masteries are just there to slow down content consumption and make it seem like there is more to the expansion.

Even the process of unlocking the elite spec is gated behind the mastery system, or by wvw ranks and badges. The general expectation was to play though most of HoT using your new elite spec, not having to play through the majority of HoT just to get your new elite spec. Currently, it seems that fully unlocking a single elite spec takes about half as much time as it would take me to get a new character from 1-80 just playing pve. That’s a lot of time for just a spec/trait line, a new weapon, and a few new skills.

No. The vocal minority disagree. I have yet to hear a SINGLE person in game complain about it. And gating? It’s not gating. You don’t know what gating is.
Needing to play the game to progress is not gating.
I’m already on Part 4 of the story. I love it. I wish it was slower so I wouldn’t get done with it so fast.

I think players need to take a step back and not try to control the environment as if it’s a console game. Seeing a word and being offended is completely different than being “called” a word and being offended. Tolerance should be practiced before running to report anything in game.

A jubilee is usually a celebration of a round anniversary, in this case it was Queens Jennahs 10 years as reign of DR 2 years ago in August.

As we didnt celebrate the anniversary last year or this year, I doubt we get one in the near future, maybe in 3 or 8 years.

But we did have the Crown Pavilion, which it seems pretty obvious that’s what the OP is actually asking about.

It doesn’t look like we will be getting the Crown Pavilion event this year. It’s already pretty late compared to when it launched previously, and we are getting closer to Halloween/HoT. I wouldn’t be sad to be wrong about this, though.

IF the OP was asking about the pavillon, he didnt indicate it. It was only jubilee that was mentioned.

I’ve been in search of a guild that better suits me than my current one.
I’d like for it to not be a large guild. I prefer smaller ones(like a max of…50 people or so)
I’m looking for a guild that breaks the mold of “family friendly orientated”.

I want a guild that I can hang out with in game and not feel so….fake with.

I’m looking for a guild that treats the game like a video game and not with so much “professionalism” that I see in a lot of guilds.

I know people are going to get offended by this, but I really just don’t enjoy that kind of environment. I want to have fun. I want to get drunk and have crazy game/skype sessions.

I want to be able to say what I want in guild chat. Discuss things that you wouldn’t be able to in some guilds. And in general just have fun and make friends without feeling like I’m not being myself. Let’s be immature. Let’s have fun in game. Let’s laugh at crude and stupid humor.

I’ve been playing since launch(well, since GW Factions). I have 6 80s. A pretty in depth knowledge of just about everything there is about the game series. I’d like to raid in HoT, but I also enjoy RP(a lot) and casual PvP.

I’ve all but given up hope in making a guild and I’ve been a guild leader for many many years in WoW and was in GW1.
It’s impossible. With this system there is hardly any loyalty to a guild. And when you kindly ask someone to rep, they leave or get mad. And you get told you are a limiting guild and that nobody will want to be in a guild that wants a tight close knit community that actually reps.
It’s so frustrating.
I give up.

But it’s a real bummer that we can’t enter any houses like in DR or anything. But there are so many.

Make a comment about the HoT subject: People cussed me for hours in map chat, followed me from area to area, whispered me until I had to resort to blocking people.

Made a comment that 4 people fighting one warrior and never dropping him below 90% hp was kind of BS: Cussed, called a “kittentard” for hours on end, followed around, left PVP lobby and the whispers are STILL going on (Been about 30 minutes). This was after I made a point to say that I am INDEED new to the game and that it was entirely from a new player standpoint. (My GW2 Icon is flashing up a STORM right now from whispers.)

I’m honestly considering just muting everything but the system chat and taking solace that the game’s damage numbers won’t threaten my life, threaten to molest my children (Not that I have any) or spew constant vulgar insults at me.

Does anybody else feel like this? I feel like I might as well not even have bought the game. The reason you play an MMO is to meet new people and enjoy yourself. I feel like I’m tiptoeing around because no matter what I do, the entire map is just WAITING to blow up and just crap on anybody who dares speak.

Now, don’t get me wrong. If somebody is low enough to go around cussing somebody, trashing them and trying to make a scene, I’m not going to take that person seriously. The problem is that I CANT SEEM TO FIND ANYBODY ELSE WHO IS -WORTH- PLAYING WITH.

The kid may not have had the artistic talent, but he had the artistically driven mentality that accepts, rather than takes offense to, critique.

Completely false, they do owe people something. They stated for six months, since its first announcement, that the expansion would require the purchase of the base game. They owe people who purchased or supported the game, based on that, another means to purchase the game for a price comparably fair to those who are getting the base game rolled in for free. If they had never made any such a statement, then you would have a point, but since they did, they have an obligation to keep their word if they want to maintain the respect and trust of their playerbase.

I really think people just think that Arenanet is out to steal all of their money and screw them over. Which I really want to know why people think like that about this? If I wanted to scam someone out of money, game development sure as hell wouldn’t be where I wanted to do it at. So much work needed.

And yeah. The mob mentality though seems to take over that sense.
