This seems like a cool idea, if there were the resources for it. But, GW2 “pvp” doesn’t have any resources, nor is it really a focus of the game at all. It is kind of like their inside joke really. BUT, if there were resources for it, it would be nice.
Yeah, exactly, my point, i’m fine with burst, but these abilities just offer too much burst and/or utility. Near insta-resses with a hastened character (if they use the cd that way), and when used offensively they can drop anyone in seconds to dangerous levels of health, if they don’t kill them. Yes, many abilities granting quickness have some type of drawback, but its not a significant one to really make one worry.
For precise examples, well, all the typical complaints, which would be met with, loldodge/losnub comments, but its not random spvp that I wonder about it (that place is a messy zergfest for build testing anyhow). Quickness is just far too powerful as it currently stands, and I too am guilty of abusing it to its fullest. I feel we would have more interesting and engaging fights if you take it out of the picture or reduce the benefit significantly. It just offers too much of a guaranteed advantage in its current iteration.
There are very few abilities I would complain about, but quickness, on all classes that have access to to it is simply OP. It allows bad builds to work, and makes good builds ridiculously good. Yes, i realize you can dodge key moves, etc… But I still think it needs to be toned down. If that would severely hinder a class because of it, then figure out some other compensation, but get rid of quickness. Imo…
Why does everyone look at spvp 8v8 for balance. The game actually feels incredibly balanced in 5v5 tourneys. Zergs dont speak to balance regardless of the game or the classes involved.
So, I logged in today, and found that monthly achievements have been completely reset! People on the server were saying that apparently it had crashed last night and experienced some roll-back. I’d completed my monthlies a week or two back, and now its a little frustrating to see it all reset. Can I get this fixed somehow?
Thank you.
Just leave the TP as is – for items that truly have a greater demand then supply prices will go up. If items sell at vendor, then… Guess what, they are likely vendor trash! The color on the items name won’t change that fact. If no one wants it, it isnt worth anything. So just vendor it.
As for all the crafter bemoaning that they cannot turn a profit… Umm, its like that in many mmos, “leveling-up” crafting items won’t churn a profit because the demand is for mats, not for what those mats become. Once you hit max crafting, there will doubtless be some demand for certain rarer items.
That said, if you truly want to play the TP and make a profit, you can do it. Just be smarter about what you are searching for and what you want to sell. I’ve done it before, and made a small profit, but have not put much time into it because its not the more enjoyable part of the game for me.
Freyar, what level are you? If you’re a lower level, then just run an entire zone that you havent been to before? You get way more experience exploring then you would “grinding”. You should also be harvesting nodes you find along the way, they too give more xp than killing a mob.
Keep in mind this game was seemingly designed from the point of view of exploration and enjoying content as priorities. If you relax about it, sit back, not worry about leveling, etc, and enjoy the wandering, immersion, and exploration, the you will find the various achievements and so on to fly by, since you will be doing them automatically.
Trading Post. Push ‘o’ by default i think, pick up what you buy from a black lion trader in the city. Or ask in map chat.
Warriors have 3 condition removal abilities (listed above, and they are awesome compared to what many other classes get), plus i believe there’s s trait you can select that helps you with that (may be wrong on that last point).
Really though, you want to be a melee “tanky” style character? Then learn how things do damage so you can learn what you need to do to mitigate it. Your complaint really sounds like, “I did no research into the game, charged in wearing heavy armor and died, wtf, why isnt this game just like all the other games i have played?”
To be helpful, let me repeat, you have 3 of the better condition removal abilities in the game, one tied to your main heal by default even. If you do pvp as any class without the ability to remove conditions, you are asking to die.
