yeah I read that as a “I hope mommy and daddy aren’t mad at me for being upset!”. It makes no sense. Why should we worry about upsetting anet when all they’ve done since HoT went up for sale was refuse to acknowledge us and upset us?
Maybe I wrote it wrong.
I meant two things:
1. Feeling bad = Working bad. I just hope that they’re thick-skinned, cause as a normal player I care more on a good content created by motiavated devs, than ur big drama and fighting with them for a 1 free slot or smt like that.
2. Its really easy to destroy a pretty good MMORPG game, which is B2P. This payment model is rly risky. Do not be surprised if they will be forced to make P2W in the future.

Ey, guys. I feel like most of you dont understand how B2P MMO works.
But thats understandable, cause there’s not much this kind of MMORPGs.
Most of you misjudged the situation.
Yeah, price of this expansion may be too high, if u compare it to the content which is going to appear in the begining of HoT, but ONLY when GW2 would be a P2P game.
Not B2P.
Cause then it may (and even should) cost like 10$ for an expansion like this, but then we would have to pay subscription to play more and discover next updates.
While here we pay for all this months or even years of playing.
And by the way, when it comes to the B2P games – if expansion comes, the basic game is no longer worth anything. We used it already. We paid for it and we used it. Even if somebody bought this game in january (-75%) then he paid just for this few months before HoT – to lvl some characters, discover the world etc etc. The only losers are these people which bought it in the last month for a bad price, but Anet is probably going to help them. Anyway there’s not many of them, while almost all of you whine on the forums etc.
I hope Anet isnt angry cause of your behavior guys and they’re not going to do something wrong in the future, cause of the last situation.

These sales was cool, cause people was able to buy it cheap, and play a game before HoT comes out. Lvl some characters and stuff like that, to be rdy for HoT. Xar.1387 is really reaching now, “they said you will need the core game, they never said you need to purchase it”.
Why don’t you go into a store the next time they announce something new is available and try and walk out with it, then explain that they never advertised that you need to pay for it as they escort you to the backroom, let us know how that goes for you.

Btw, I dont see anything exciting about this new class – Revenant.
The only things I am waiting for are Stronghold and Guild Halls.

Btw HoT is going to be cheaper in the next months. There will apperar some sales and stuff like that. This is how it works. Are u guys going to act like this then too? U know that there will be alot of people which buy a game for a normal price, and e.g next day Anet will announce a huge sale. Ppl who bought it 1 day before will “lose” alot of money.
Same on steam – one day u can buy some games for the normal price, and in the next there’s free giveaway.

IMO there is nothing surprising in this. I wrote about this few months ago.
Anyone who bought the game after the announcement of the HoT should already know that he/she overpaid. But it looks like they just wanted to play it sooner (before HoT comes out), so they bought it. Their will – their money. Nobody forced them.

When HoT is coming, then older version of GW2 is no longer worth anything – maybe some symbolic amount of money, but nothing more.
Its fine that Anet dont force new people to pay for it, cause they’re not able to play this version of GW2 (as we played it) anymore. This is the past.
We was able to lvling our characters, discover all the world, play pvp (ranked, unranked, tournaments, esl etc), wvw seasons, and do all this cool stuff for all this time, while new players wasnt able to do it.
We used what we paid for. We received many hours of fun, and new players, which can buy HoT + GW2 cant back to these days. They’re going to start a new adventure, witch a brand new accounts, while we’ve got accounts with lvled characters, pvp skills, cool titles, minies, etc etc…

I would have no issue with buying it on its own for $50. I just would expect new players to do what I did: buy BOTH the core game and the expansion.
But what you did was buy the game and played it for perhaps hundreds of hours. You’ve gotten your money’s worth since that initial purchase. Do new players get a better deal? Kind of. Keep in mind the game has been on sale many times, occasionally for only $10. No one seemed angry about that. People would pay $10 when you’ve paid at least $60 if you got it at launch, and you haven’t cared. This is also incentive for a larger player base, anyone that doesn’t have the game can get it bundled with the expansion now, which would ultimately liven up the game and make it a better experience.

Thief isnt my main character, so as i wrote above: I know there’s alot of mistakes – but I’m working on it, cause I like this class.
I decided to practice it
(and in the future it would be fun to see the progress that i’ve done )
That’s why i made it on WvW – its an easy mode. In ranked PvP most players would kill me easily On the WvW the difficulty level is very low, so I was able to kill these ppl easly. This is comparable to unranked arenas or hotjoins or even lower i guess.

Hello there,
For a long time I’m thinking about Mega and WvW servers. Do not you think it should be changed a little bit? In my opinion new players do not understand the current system of servers, and it should be fixed.
1. Let them select the WvW server when they want to select it. Not at the start of the game, when they do not even know what’s WvW. They should select a server at the first entering the WvW.
2. If the servers are only for WvW, then let us select any region, flag or something like that when we login to the game. Same as we can select the language of the game. E.g. If someone is German and will choose the German region/flag, then system puts him on megaserver with other German people, which marked this region/flag. Same with every other nation.
In my opinion this is the most sensible way out.

Since yesterday it looks like my team cant play Ranked/Unranked Arenas.
It happened after this short update, that appeared in the evening (EU time) We was playing a match when it called there’s 10 minutes to the update. We played and reloged to update a client, and then we started to look for a next matches, but it looked like system cant find anything for us.
And today We cant even sign for ranked or unranked arenas, cause we get the message:
“Queue Abandoned… You have beed removed from matchmaking and must queue again.”
We thought that its bugged for everyone, but it looks like other people can play.

Hello there,
its really nice to see this topic Chris, and also I hope that some of our ideas will be used.
At the beginning I have to say that I was thinking about raid content since release of Guild Wars 2, and a lot of my ideas was really cool (IMO), but after time I came to the final idea, which is IMO pretty good, and whats more important – possible to add to the Guild Wars 2 game and reasonable.
In my opinion you do not need to create a brand new mode, cause we’ve got alot of these – what we need is upgrading these things. After all we’ve got Guild Missions – right? Why not just use them, and create a new mission called “Raid” or something like that? In this game guild content is definitely something missing, we’ve got world bosses, which require very large amounts of people – and some of players are just nervous, that they simply cant do something enjoyable in the comfort of your guild – alone, without random people. We’ve got dungeons, fractals, pvp – its all cool, but you can not go and play there with a whole of our guild. Also there’s WvW, which is pretty, but some of guilds are nervous about that u can go there with 10/20 players, and be smashed by 60. Guild Missions are ok, but we miss a professional approach, and also many guilds got tired of doing the same thing weekly.
Here “raid” appear, which would be added to the guild missions, as a demanding challenge, where we’ve got to defeat the boss. But i mean a real boss – the entire raid
consisting of players will focus on this boss – not “going to him”, finding him or something else. Simply group in the right place, explain the tactics and trying to kill it First bosses doesnt have to be that hard, but let us unlock next, and next bosses, whichs is harder, and harder – and in the future u can announce new bosses which is going to be added and crate a hype. People would like to return to the game to try to beat the next boss. It would be really cool then
Next thing is that IMO raid shouldnt be limited for a 10/20 people or something like that. It is easy to imagine that every guild mate want to make a raid, but it may look like we’ve got 21 ready to play people, while there’s just 20 slots – sad, right? Let everyone have a fun there – as it works in guild missions, but for sure developers will have to work on scaling. In sum – let small,medium or even large guilds raid.
The last important thing is a challenge, what we should experience there. Everyone should have a role, and practice it – demanding boss is something important. Dont let us zerg and smash it, cause its boring. Anyway – Liadri boss was really cool – it wasnt that easy

Of course it may be some exotics, rares, merit points, influence, these tokens, which we gain by doing other guild missions, chance to loot ascended etc etc…
But beyond that u can reward people by titles – when they’ll beat a really hard boss etc

They simply won’t create instanced raids the same way because their systems are very different from other MMOs (to an extent).
Yeah, u’ve got no typical tank/heal/dps but it doesnt mean that its impossible to create a raid or something like that. Look at Liadri boss – it was really cool and im pretty sure, that its possible to create something similar for a guild
Look at the teq or even wurm – cool (world :/ ) bosses – its possible to make something like that for a guilds – as a raid – it can be even harder than a world bosses Guilds could go there with 10/20/30/40/50 etc people -depending on the size. Ofc there would be different bosses – some of them shouldnt be that hard, and other harder and harder
Im not a hardcore player, but i know that its better to have a challenge than be bored.
Those aren’t raids. They are open world zergs.

People who complain about a things like “raids are bad” or “true gamers” simply destroy the game.
Cause this game really needs reasonable content and a valuable feedback about it.
We can still have raids, and dont create any “Elitists” or something like that.
After all, we have for example PvP mode, that not everyone plays, right?
Anet simply could create a new guild mission called “Raid”, and give the guilds a chance to face with demanding bosses. It may even be remakes of world bosses or something like that, but on a smaller scale – for guild, than a world. And guild cooperation should be something important there – just dont let a guild zerg and smash the bosses Its boring. I dont feel like a hardcore player, but i prefer to have a goal, than smash everything and feel bored. Let guilds defeat the boss “A”, and then they would unlock boss “B” after that.
Anyway, every guild mission would be regularly updated.
And after that it would look like we really have an interesting PvE content.
-Guild Missions (everything what we’ve got now + raids + regular updates and support this mode to encourage people to do it) btw – its important to let 10man guilds, 20man, 30,40,50 or even 80man guilds to do it. Scaling is a good thing. It is not cool when there’s no slot (in the raid) for 1 person :| Or we’ve got e.g. 19 online, while raid requires 20.

-Dungeons
-Fractals

Its the same freaking thing on a smaller scale. Its a microcosm of whats wrong in GW2… nay all mmorpms today, the pvp sucks.
Nope. U’ve got no PvE gear in PvP, which is cool, while in WvW u can use ur PvE gear, stats, consumable things, and build. Also low lvls dies in the 2 seconds ;D So it cant be the same thing.

100 people can smash 10, while in PvP u’ve got clearly defined number of players.
Also…
U’ve got the ability to join as a spectator, and ability to create ur own arena, team etc etc…
I like to play WvW occasionally, but simply prefer PvP.
Ofc u can say that PvP sucks, but IMO it’s still better than WvW, and PvP from other MMORPG’s.
I do not know another mmorpg, which creates a PvP in the MOBA style.

I’ve never played a game with raids, but from what I’ve heard about them I’d be interested to see how it could work in GW2.
The main thing I’ve heard against them is that a lot of people seem to see raids as synonymous with gear grind, but I assume that wouldn’t be the case here. I have no idea what the rewards could be, but I actually think it could be more interesting if they made it simply a title or something, so the focus is more on playing through the content for it’s own sake.
Yeah, gear isnt that important. People just want to have a fun and challenges for a guilds – nothing more. The prizes can be something like a titles, minies, gold, rares, exotics, chance to drop precursor, influence, merits, etc, etc stuff. Like now… guild missions
do not give us any great reward, but its really cool to do it together with the guild. Unfortunately guild missions been very neglected :|
Also guilds cant do World Bosses – as the name says, they’re WORLD bosses. Of course, I’m not talking here about mass-guilds, which have hundreds of players online – these are not the guilds. I do not know how to call it.

Raid would be really cool, but:
1. IMO. They must simply be done really well, but game shows, that theres possibilities to do it. For example, Liadri boss was interesting, and requiring much skill and effort. Doing something like this on a large scale for a guild would be great.
Anyway, everyone must have a role in the group – if some1 fails, then raid dies.
2. There should be no restrictions. If some guild want to make raid for 8 players – why not. Let them do it. They can sign up by 10, 15,20,25, or even 50 too Content should be scaled according to the number of people involved. 8 or10 would be a minimum.

But, by far the one thing that I believe should be added to the Guild Hall is… a dungeon. A daily or weekly Guild Dungeon that has a 5 team, 10 team, or 15+ team level at the end of which you earn merits to upgrade and customize your Guild Hall and tokens that can go towards brand new Guild Armor.

They can even call it raid or smt. Or smply develop a guild missions, and add some dungeons, raids with a bosses, etc, etc to them. And put all of this guild things into the Guild Halls. It would be really interesting. Most important thing is to encourage people to enter this place (GH), otherwise nobody will come there, as in many other mmorpgs. Appearance is also important, but do not kid yourself – noone will come back there without incentives. GH can be ugly, but when it’s useful, then every1 will teleport there, and stay for a long time – enjoying time spent with the guild.

And how about afkers? In the main maps when we are afk for a long time, then system kicks us, whats great, but IMO would be great to be able to afk in the GH

Anyway, after all you would create a tab on the main website called “Guild Halls” or something like that, where people could find every guild hall, that was built. Create there any special graphics, which reflect reality and show people how it looks like. Random players would check these halls this way – if they can’t do it in the ingame open world Then there could also appear the information that shows every guild upgrades, members, ranks, and all kinds of achieves and statistics.
Some games have on their sites this kind of previews of a guilds (or even players) – which is interesting thing for ppl – and Guild Wars 2 could have something like a guilds preview, but it would show a Guild Hall also.
But yeah, first of all we need a guild lobby, which is Guild Hall And guild content with this, then in the Guild Hall we could meet, and organize guild missions (which should be updated rly hard), killing bosses (requiring teamplay) together, etc etc… Idk, just create something, that will encourage guilds to play together. It’s your game so think >;p We need much much much content in these Guild Halls, then people will use them, and find there a fun.
We would e.g. unlock a Guild Missions room – which would cost new guilds an influence points. And then we can meet in the guild hall, and e.g meet in this special room, and then one person talks with a npc’s, which closes the door, and then we’ve got something like a “ready check”. When every player which is located in a room puts “yes”, then we’re teleported to this mission. Same with other activities.
Also being able to build things like mystic forge or hire npc’s like… trading post guy, banker etc, etc

Im pretty sure, that I souldnt write here about something like a Guild Hall, which is visible for every other player on the map, but they simply can’t join this place, cause it’s reserved only for a guild members. Ofc it would be cool to see something like that – a ranomly arranged Guild Halls on the whole Tyria map, which are visible for every1, and guilds would act like “Ha! Look at us! We built it, and that’s ours!”
It sounds great, but it is unrealistic. We’ve got MegaServers, also this type of Guild Hall would be good for a small MMORPG i guess, but not for a big one, which is GW2. We should have one big server – not a few MegaServers.
So I think we should focus on the things that are feasible, and fit the mechanics of the game. It is no secret, that we’ve got “open world”, but everything is instantiated – it’s like… half-open world, but it gives a sense of a open world We can do something on the MegaServer “A”, but on the other Server everything’s different, and there are other people etc, etc. That’s why I think we have no other choice than instantiated Guild Halls. Therefore, I will focus on this and I will explain how I see it.
- It should be possible to teleport there with one click. There should be also a guild hall panel, which would be located near “Rooster”, “Upgrades”, “Guild Missions”, and all that stuff. We would see there a progress of our GH – or even more – mby put there a number, that tells us how many guild members are there.
- Guild should be able to choose what type of GH they want. There should be different to choose from. And when they’ll choose, then it’s possible to construct more rooms, or other elements, by upgrading a GH.
- It shouldnt be that easy to build everything in ur GH. Not every guild should have a GH – let them work for it. It will make that on the main maps will be a lot of people, which havent got a GH . Highlight up somehow guilds, which upgraded everyting in their GH – idk how. Mby any leaderboards for a guilds or something like that. We should use a lot of influence and merits – this will encourage people to continue playing a game. Simple goal. While now I’ve got medium guild, which have 500k+ influence, and almost always 250/250 merits… Now we have the number of people we want to – we dont want to became a big guild – but when we was a small guild, then we had pretty much influ, and merits too. There is nothing to do with these influ, and merits.
- It’s important to encourage people to appear in this pace. We do not want another empty place, which was created for nothing – just for being, righ? And this is the main point of a guild hall existence.
Just think more about a content for a guilds – cause we’ve got no content for them. Guild Missions are neglected. Anyway, they’re located in the open world, which destroys guild’s fun. Argument with the fact that people from the outside would see how our guild works sounds good only when we’re talking about it. But in practice it makes a missions horrible. People want to do something alone among guild in peace and fun – without dozens of other guilds, and random people on the neck…
And what we’ve got outside missions? Nothing.
One big nothing for a guilds. Achh… Sorry, We’ve got WORLD bossess too, but they are not created for a guilds. It’s a open world content, which guilds can make.
We cant do it with +-25 people – which is max for a raid IMO. Why u force us to build a mass-guilds with hundreds of players? Why we cant do some thing in the smaller groups? 10? 15? 20? 25?… On the one hand we have something for 5 (dungs,fractals,pvp) whats cool, but we can do it without a guild too . On the other hand we’ve got bigger activities but it’s for hundreds of players, like world bosses or even wvw – we cant go wvw, and expect a balanced fights, cause we can join it by 10/20 people, and met with 100 enemies.
When we’ll have a GUILD dedicated content, then just put it in the guild halls – that’s going to simply encourage people to enter there, and use it.

Option to block chat, for some members. Leaders could create a rank, which does not allow these people to write. It would be very helpful, and not that hard to create i guess.

I’ve actually seen a similar video before, a while ago. That person even also made a thread here iirc, and then showed a video of him using tomes to level up.
Yeah, I’m sure there’s a lot more videos like that. These scrolls are nothing new.
I just saw that many veterans complains about new leveling system, so i decided to show them, that for veterans nothing changed at all, cause leveling still takes around 2 minutes :P

How is this well known “leveling” trick at all related to the latest Feature Pack?
Many veterans in recent days complaining that leveling is hard, annoying, long drawn etc, etc… So I decided to show that you can do it otherwise.
