I can show you a different point of view. sPvP is a different type of activity that features playing with players versus another players, as well as in PvE you play with players versus AI.

I’m well aware of what sPvP is, the part that I don’t like about it is the “verses other players” part. If you could play sPvP purely against AI without any opposing players, it would be a bit dull, but at least better than the existing option for players that do not enjoy competitive multiplay.

You can’t play sPvP against AI without any players. With no players, there is no P in “sPvP”. There is a mode for that, and it’s called PvE. You can even do hotjoins (Some people are clueless and you can see them as AI), and if you don’t even want to put effort, there are servers dedicated to doing pvp dailies.

Fix this please. I want to be able to see Yellow Text again.

2. Stab is really strong, especially when people are capping objectives. Boon strip is limited. A team with a lot of stability will most likely cap everything.
3. Lord gets revealed in downstate too fast when you try to stealth, AI design needs better work.
4. NPC’s die too fast, Door Breakers with only like 1-2 up can break a door down quickly. Give gate or NPC’s more HP. Need the casters with swirling winds at Lord for better defensive options.

How is everyone forgetting the Beastmastery Ranger builds where the pets hit like trucks and they had perma regen and were super bunkery?

That was the best of both worlds.

Reason: at 40 seconds the cooldown too conveniently aligns with judges intervention. Not to mention it’s just an extremely powerful ability.

Going to have to disagree with this one. Judges and ring has always been a thing, and It’s always been strong, but only because of the meta with lack of stability. Increasing the cool down when this skill is already at 40 seconds will just hinder it. The cooldown is fine, and I know it aligns well with judges intervention c/d, but the ring is also used defensively to peel for team mates or for yourself. So you a choice of defensive or offensive ring. 50 seconds would be way too long.

An engineer with jumpshot can do that too, but you need to be more near the stairs on that rim area.

Wasn’t Decap Engineer run in an important tournament at one point? I did not play much when it initially dropped, but I seem to remember people complaining about the lowest low in GW2 “Esports” history (Lyssa Hambow, Dhuumfire Necro, Spirit Ranger and Decap Engineer being about)

The way I think it works.
However, the way it should be is it shouldn’t matter how long they stay in the refuge, as long as you can knock them out of it while the cast is still up, they should instantly reveal.

It does matter how long they stay in the refuge for lets say if they’re in there for like 2.5-3 seconds when the duration is about to end at 4, the launch distance isn’t gonna cover that last second unless you knock them towards the nearest rim out of the house to where it should reveal in time. Even when you’re not in downstate you can still not get revealed if you’re in there for 3 seconds and knocked out before that last second, unless you’re knocked out toward the closest rim of the circle to where you should be out of it. I will agree if it’s like near the start or even a second after the refuge was planted that you can knock them out, because that is what we tested, and the launch distance should be able to knock the downstate body out of the rims of the refuge, before those 4 seconds end. Anyway if it is a bug, fix.

A Minor Suggestion: Since the downstate bodies say stuff while they’re down, just give them an audio effect to when they get launched in stealth while in downstate, so you can differentiate whether someone in downstate was knocked out instead of a non downstate person.

The way I think it works is you have to knock that downstate body as soon as the refuge is planted. Refuge has a 4 second duration, meaning you have to knock someone out before that time ends. So if the downstate body is not knocked out or launched soon, then the target will remain stealthed. By the time the body is flying the refuge is ending, might not seem like it but it’s really short, and thus they maintain stealth if not knocked out fast enough. I always try to banish or launch on the nearest rim of the refuge, it usually reveals them. Because knocking them toward the farther rim gives them more time to be in the circle enough for the duration to last. May be a bug, if so needs to be fixed, but that is my viewpoint on why this happens.

I can think of bigger problems in PvP than this! Namely that the game mode is even more boring than waiting in queue for it! Also the mostest popularest and the mostest esportz games like legendary league and counter strikes don’t let you do anything while queuing either! Yes it sux we can’t play pvesportz or duel in some custom arenas and yes Anet logic is just awful, as usual, in this scenario but mountains out of molehills!

Difference between this game’s queue times compared to League/Counterstrike is that the queue times are 100x longer. My league queues pop in like less than 20 seconds. This game has like 10 minute queues. I do agree there are more problems in PvP, my Band Practice Frand.

Yay(Easy to Mediocre Matchups): Turret Engies, Normal Engies, Mesmers with no Condi Clear, Teefs, D/D eles, Rangers, beating most Meta builds to show that Quad Sig Ele can work if played right.

Nay(Hard Matchups): A Medi Guard with a functional brain, Mesmers with condi removal or has a functional brain, A Teef with a functional brain, A necro that knows how to position and condi transfer, Karaoke Warriors, Anything with mass condi cleanse/Condi Immunity, Scum of the Earth builds.

Sometimes I queue unranked if theres a bunch of premades in ranked that I know I could beat with a real group, but I get PuGs that don’t have a clue what they’re doing. I don’t mind being smashed by a good team, but against subpar teams that I know I can beat it’s just not fun. So thats a reason to queue in unranked sometimes. We need Divisions with incentive.

Before December 2nd, when the leaderboards weren’t based on amount of games played. I had a W/L Ratio of 5.3k games won and 2.2k games lost. I had the most wins in Team Arena while maintaining a decent ratio. Same with Oeggs and others who played during prime times as well. Ever since December 2nd hit, people who no-lifed more than Oeggs,Myself, and the rest of the veteran pvp community, are now on the top with below 50%ratios. A lot of people who I didn’t even know existed. So until some sort of League System/Division system kicks in. These leaderboards don’t mean much anymore.

Everytime I load into Heart of the Mists, My camera is stuck at the HoTM portal, but my character is able to move. It returns to normal after 10 seconds, but this happens everytime I load into Heart of the Mists or even Lions Arch sometimes.

So ever since this patch hit, when pressing “B” or checking the score in a sPvP match, my FPS drops significantly. A lot of other people have been having this problem. Like myself and others, we have a habit of checking it alot in game whether it is a 5v5 or not. I’m pretty sure it’s not my computer either. Weird thing is when I logged onto my EU account, my fps is fine when opening up the scoreboard. On my main account on NA it still has FPS drops. When a sPvP match ends the scoreboard shows up as well, and FPS goes down. This needs to be fixed.

On my EU account I don’t get fps drops when opening the scoreboard, but on NA still it drops! #EU confirmed master region. Fix this please.
