So this is an old complaint but the skill says it does about twice as much damage as it actually does. Pls fix it.
My bad the Region is North America
Hi all, I’m Zuko. My friend Nec Roe and I are looking to form a team to compete in weekly tourneys. I play cele ele, and he plays terromancer necro. Feel free to post here with what you play or whisper/mail me in game, and we will give you a try out.
but if u think u can make a good build with it in pvp let me know i just think its not worth what u have to sacrifice to get it
i should have said this earlier but im talking strictly pvp and while its not a terrible trait u cant make a good pvp build with it d/d needs those 30 in arcana and at least 15 in water so no good scepter needs fresh air so u cant take it and if u go zerk staff and put 30 in fire and 30 in air ur survivability is a joke also most conjured weapons suck in pvp so no earth shield or lightning hammer
As Lightning rod works right now it does damage and inflicts weakness upon cc-ing an enemy. However most weapon sets have only 2 or 3 cc skills on a long cooldown which does not justify going 30 into air for the trait in pvp. My suggestion is that the trait be changed so that it activates upon every other attunement swap, with the first swap in combat activating it, and reduces attunement recharge by 1 second. With this change it would actually be a viable trait for pvp.

standard duration is only 4 secs with traits it goes up to around 9 i believe which is doubling the damage so i think its worth it personally and like you said its only a 2 sec weakness and i think the duration is worth it since that way the bleeds stay up long enough to be spread with epidemic. also with the built in spectral armor and staff one i dont have too much trouble with life force regen. if you wanted life force regen i would probaly give up the fear on cc in death magic for life force on marks in soul reaping
feel free to post feedback
build
This build is built around laying down aoe condis with staff and scepter 2 and dagger 5 while using fears to keeps foes away and give you some added damage. Start with staff and lay down 2 and 3 with an optional 5. Then swap to scepter/dagger and use 2 and 5 followed by a few scepter auto-attacks and epidemic to spread all them lovely condis. Also surprisingly strong 1v1.
Traits:
Curses 30: II, IX, (XI or VII)
I typically run with XI but VII is an option since we are running two corruption skills
Death Magic 20: V, (VIII or VII)
I typically run with VIII because with the utter lack of stability in this build its nice to have the fear to prevent them from wailing on you while you are cc’ed it is also a 3.25 second fear which does a lot of damage
Soul Reaping 20: III, IX
Utilities:
Spectral Wall: My personal favorite skill. Can be used defensively or offensively. OR BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. Laying it down then running behind saves you from thieves and other bursty melee players. Can also be used to trap enemies in a corner where u can then proceed to lay down ur condis on em.
Corrupt Boon: I take this to get rid of enemies pesky stability. It even turns stability to a fear so it is sometimes advantageous to you when an enemy pops stability.
Epidemic: Great skill. Spreads all condis on one player to enemies in radius. Only problem is the long cast time.
Flesh Golem: Better alternatives than the others as we lose out on damage in other elites. The charge is also great for destroying treb and gates.
Heal:
Consume Conditions: Good heal. Clears all conditions and rewards you with extra health for each condition cleared. Whats not to like.
Conclusion: I hope you all try out the build. I find to be very effective and a lot of fun. Only issue I have is lack of stability. Have fun with the build. Feel free to whisper me in game. My necro’s name is Prince Necropolis

ya if you survive long enough to do that
thieves have been nerfed more than any other class (i didnt check my facts on that but i think its safe to assume) Just because you need to actually think and plan to fight us doesnt mean we need a nerf
besides you dont pick a class because they are average at everything you pick them because they excel at something
indeed a very delicate sniper with a very big gun that is powerful but you have to be at point blank range in which case you can get hit easily
a great thing and bad thing balance out ergo thieves are balanced
that is a lie thieves excel at 1v1 even with the recent nerf we can still do very well with d/p which balances out the fact that we aren’t great in big groups
(edited by Zuko.7132)
you can be a zergling but lets face it a thief will go down faster than most other classes
as you said if you make currently thieves are strongest in 1v1 which is why you suggested they make them less strong there and stronger in a group which proves my point that at the moment they are great for 1v1 and not so great for big group you certainly can roll other things and they’ll work but they wont work quite as well
so if you want to go solo the thief probably has the best builds for it while they dont have great builds for zergs
true but some professions have better builds for a certain role like a guardian is a better tank than any other profession except maybe a dual dagger elementalist
heal in shadows which is what your talking about is on a 30 sec cooldown plus in a zerg your still going to get hit whether your in stealth or not
Its true that if you go one on one with a good thief your probably going to lose, but if a thief is involved in a zerg he/she is going to go down fast. Thieves excel in small battles but there low vitality and toughness makes them terrible for zergs. Each class should play to its strengths if your not a thief, mesmer, or possibly a ranger don’t expect to be as good at small battles. Your strength is in zergs. If you want to do small battles make a thief for goodness sake cause that is what they are good at.
What do u think of new build
Thank you for the comment ill drop the signets
