@messiah it’s tanky for a thief and keep in mind all of that is exotic armor, you’ll be a bit higher if hp and armor if you have ascended/bloodlust from bordlerlands buff, and this build isn’t about having tons of damage, it’s about supporting your team and staying, which you will with 3k+ armor and 13-15k+ health, plus the regen from and the regen from initiative use.
@maugetarr why can’t a thief roll out as a support build? why do guardians have to be the ONLY support build? also thieves can provide the group with venoms, not just healing. and thieves would be able to heal every 36 seconds, not 48 :p an again this is a SUPPORT build, NOT a dps build.

i actually just posted a build fore the new healskill, it’s full cleric, using the new healing skill and full venoms. it focuses of condi dmg and stealing/signet activation for damage, and it’s tanky and has tons of sustain, it would be used for group wvw and zerging, (WvW)
what do you guys think of it?

This a WvW build
So i’m theorycrafting for when the new heal skill comes out for thieves. As far as i know the healing skill is a venom, and it has a 45 second cd (like every other venom)

this makes use of venom sharing, and it is used for zerging/group roaming (keep in mind the healing skill is the new healing skill)

Main pros of this build

healing on steal, regen from slowed pulse, life siphoning on venom activation, also you are generally tanky, and you gain health on use of initiative (assassin’s reward). although you could swap assassin’s reward with pain response, i’m still not sure which is better. you also have damage from coditions aswell. (sb #2 and #4 skill) / pistol bleeds. you deal damage by stealing and activating venoms too.

main cons of this build

you don’t deal a TON of damage, you don’t have very much movespeed, you rely on swiftness and speed buffs from your zerg/group. you don’t have any stealths besides blinding powder to SB # 2 skill and from your traits.

I’d love some feedback, anyone else out there doing some thoerycrafting for the new heal skill?

@messiah, i don’t take devourer venom for 1v1s because i already have basilisk venom, and if you wanted a chill conition that bad, then you could always take reaper of grenth. you are already fast because you have runes of the traveler, so you dont need chill conditions too, and you’re defense skills/escape utils are shadow refuge/shadowstep if you want to take that in place of shadow refuge, cloak and dagger, and your heal, as well as your SB/heartseeker for a quick escape. i hope i answered your question, i was a bit confused on what you were asking

@ Arikyali i’m not very fond of taking traps and caltrops when i solo roam or at all on a thief, but that’s personal preference, i also dont liek the 7% chance to proc initiative regain on skill one just because it’s such a low chance, and you wont be throwing in auto attacks consistently when you’re backstabing then at a slow pace, but thats just my thoughts. and i dont like vulnerability just because your crit chance is already 40-44% and it’s only 33% chance to proc a vulnerability after that, i also think quick venoms are essential to this build since you will have 2-3 of them at least …

i actually swap between shadow refuge and shadowstep occasionally, or i just dodge it.
having weakness on one of your venoms also helps reduce the dmg, but mostly i try to avoid it/take shadowstep in place of shadow refuge. but yeah it does suck you don’t really have a stunbreaker if you take shadow refuge

Also, on the update post they were talking about making it so initiative regeneration didn’t depend of initiative regen traits, which this build doesn’t have, this this build would further benefit from that too.

yeah you did :p i was using a diffrerent-ish build then. i think this one is a bit better and it isn’t that weak without food, but you need it for the crit chance, and you could always just replace some of the valkyrie gear with berserker gear and take different food. my last build had venom siphon so it would’ve been a waste of 1200 healing to blow it early, so that’s why i conserved it :p but for this build you don’t need have to save it. it’s problably better to use use it early so it can can come back up later in the fight, since it’s a 36s cooldown. and i just recently heard about the new heal, if it does involve being a venom then it will have a much shorter cooldown with the trait i’m running of 20% less cd, but idk how good it is yet, or even if it’s worth running. and thanks

Notes
This is a solo roaming build, but of course it’s still a great build to use when you have a group too!

Weapons
You don’t have to have ascended weapons to run this build, exotics are fine. You should still have around 40-42% crit chance with exotics. D/D is what you will be using to fight, your SB is only for escaping, it’s more of a utility.

Armor
I use valkyrie armor for the extra survivability, and i get more power from the Sharpening Stone because i have more vitality, precision from berserker armor isn’t a must since you already have 40-44% crit chance, and a 100% crit chance when you’re in stealth (100% crit backstabs all the time every time).

Sigils & Runes
I always use superior sigil of fire and it should be used for this build, however you don’t have to have superior sigil of bloodlust for this build, i often swap between using Superior sigil of bloodlust, Superior sigil of force, and Superior sigil of the night.

Why do i use runes of the traveler in place of runes of divinity? I prefer having the extra utility slot to use on something else rather than having divinity runes and 1 less utility slot, runes of the traveler are key to this build, if you don’t use them you’ll either be 25% slower(you don’t want that when your trying to backstab someone), lose a venom, or lose shadow refuge which you want in case you need to stomp someone or if you need a safe escape.

Accessories
berserker is a must, you need the crit damage, crit chance, as well as the extra power, however infusions aren’t a big deal, it’s up to you on what infusions you’d like to use, but i recommend vitality or precision infusions

Food
If you can’t afford this food you can always get Hardened sharpening stones and Plate of Roast Meat with Braised Leeks instead, you can also swap Plate of Orrian Steak Frittes for Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup if you’d rather have more crit damage then a little less power and less vitality

utilities
the two venoms are key to this build, and they are the most damaging venoms, and shadow refuge is key for extra survivability/escape/stomping, but if you aren’t using runes of the travaler then make sure you have signet of shadows on. I take basilisk venom when I 1v1, and when i’m fighting a group of people i take daggerstorm for reflection and stability

comparison to meta backstab build
D/D with venoms has more damage, less survivability (due to venoms > Shadow Step & Blinding Powder). It also has less initiative regeneration which can be a pain for re-stealthing with cloak and dagger. It also has more condition damage. the venoms also really help, due to the vulnerability and weakness, aswell as torment and poison that makes their healing a lot less helpful to them.

P.S. I’m just experimenting with this build, so it might not be perfected yet. Also i’d love some feedback.
