This is a lose-lose argument. You’re saying people should not bother buying the chests if they want to avoid disappointment. So the players get nothing of interest from Halloween and Anet make no money at all? Not a good solution is it?

Surely the solution we are looking for is for players to spend money and feel like they got decent value.

Yes I see your point, people should feel like they got something – but when does greed and lack of self-control come into it?

I do feel each chest should of contained something to do with halloween – like a random amount of currency for the event items and all that. but people who have bought 50 chests, I understand you feel cheated, but they are just as much to blame as ANet, maybe hit 8? if nothing, stop? or limit your self one a day over the event. If you’re gunna invest into 50 and not prepare for disappointment, then that’s your fault. Sure bring it up and ask questions, but don’t flame… You’re mad because you wanted something your way and had little control over your greed…

It’s more of the point people spend 50 £/$ on these chests, and complain when nothing drops…
1. People may buy 5 and get something, it is chance.
2. Am sure they are many people who have got something, all you see it the complainers
3. Control your spending, yes buy some. I spend gems on 3 keys, I got nothing. It’s chance. I’m not gunna complain I got nothing, I can take a chance and hope then cut my losses – not continue to buy more, yes it’s good to buy some – but if you’re having bad luck, stop?

Worked hard in a video game? A video game shouldn’t be ‘work’. Try getting a meaningful degree, or a 50 hour a week job – then tell me you work hard. Having the time to play a video game 6 hours a day is not working hard, I’ve had the game since release and only reached 39, should I not participate in a holiday event, because I have to manage my time differently to someone who may not have responsibility or who has the power to sit and play a video game all day? I would love to spend all my time playing a game. But sadly, for most of us in the real world – that is impossible.

Even if ANet used GMT, They would still post content and work within their normal hours, does disguising at as a different time zone really make a difference? no, not at all. Hypothetically lets say it comes out 00:00 Server time, 07:00 UK time, 06:00 GMT time, You would feel better if they say Early morning GMT time?

So… I have a MacBook Pro 13" bought in December 2011. I get a frame rate of about 15-20 FPS on the lowest graphics setting. Is this correct? Should I be getting more?

If so then maybe resetting the SMC would do the trick?

On a 13 inch? Probably not. People need to realise, the 13 inch will always have a poorer GPU than the 15 or 17 – Remember it’s a laptop not designed with gaming in mind, you should be thankful that is actually runs! 20 fps on a 13inch, ?stock? mbp seems reasonable to me?

Um.. I take it you don’t work? Who can stay up really late on a sunday that works :s Weekend makes more sense, not the sunday when a lot of people chose to game on the weekend and monday is normally the start of the working week for everyone.

Yeah, it’s also a kitten when your minions attack everything, which there was an option for them to attack only if you do.

So far, the mouse is super sensitive when i start and seems messed up, but a simple tab out and in fixes it. Runs well and hitting around 35-46 through-out sPVP and around 25-34 in intense WvW, fine with me, bearing in mind my mbp is not built for gaming…
Processor – 2GHz i7
RAM – 4GB DDR3
Graphics – HD Graphics 3000 384MB
OS – OSX 10.7

Just some baselines, see if people are having the same performance with the same specs or ye.

Also the heat is not a lot at all! As some mbp users will know, it can get very hot and make the top keys a bit hot to the touch and very uncomfortable, not the case with me – I have also ran the game on my lap and a soft quilt and still very bearable and reasonably cool after an hour or two!

Also a 13 inch macbook pro isn’t really built for gaming, bearing in mind you have on fan inside and mbp, having a full aluminium shell meant for venting heat out, will get very hot. Also, MBP aren’t designed for gaming in mind. You could sell it and buy a decent desktop cable of running the game?

Yes, i think so, I’m not sure of combat break stealth? With it only being 3 seconds are so. Also with thiefs being squishy (lowest health pool) out of all, it would some fair, as when a theif has done his burst, or applied his bleeds/poison – he’s pretty much useless until CDs are done, so that gives you a chance if they’re not slippery

Seems normal to me :s I think a thief also has 3 stealth cable abilities. Heal, Steal and dagger 5

Got a group, ran AC a few days ago, all first timers – Died like 10 times, but thats expected… Couldn’t see a issue.. It was challenging and fun.

I don’t see why dualing isn’t already in, kills time in downtime and is pretty much a stable in mmos :s

Get a foe, kite and focus killing one and if you die, at least one is down… < Repeat

I like the story quest! I just wish I could play each bit one after the other (so i can play the story on other races but i dont really wanna grind the levels again in between)

The hearts, I hate. I enjoy chain quests and they’re very few hearts.
The dynamic events are good, but do become boring fast, just repeat, I grinded a few levels last night and could predict the dynamic events..

But hey its one time payment, so i cant complain I can just put it down, come back next month!

Overall the actual levelling seems boring and stale to me, but the story i enjoy and sPVP is great! and WvW, well i expected something more epic.

It’s really gonna depend on the 2-5 skills, your traits, and your gearing choices. A straight-up look at auto-attack will misrepresent.

What happened there is that for the Longbow, I decided to count in my head for 60 seconds per auto attack.. I lost count and then said to myself “I think I was at 50”. I did the Shortbow differently, I just didn’t go back and do the Longbow the same way I did the Shortbow.. So let me fix that.

Also people!!! you don’t stand still and hit your buttons you’re always moving!
Try different builds out and find out something that fits you well, don’t relay on peoples damage math… If you’re playing this game by rolling with the build that does the most damage just because someone said so, i suggest you back to your old mmo…

Is there any chance of say a new window been put into the game, for mass world chat? This would make it easier to find people for dungeons, WvW teams and events and such. It’s became a hassle going to the dungeon area and hoping someones in the zone as capable level wanting to said dungeon. I don’t want a dungeon finder where you get teamed with random people, would much prefer a world chat system.

Yes, you really need to find a balance between toughness and vitality. Also look at you play style, try other classes. Maybe a warrior isn’t for you. On my thief, I have noticed that have a bit of toughness really does help my survival rate.

Currently at work, so I guess posting what I play on at work when things die down, would be more acceptable.

Yeah I have to run on low settings (well duh can’t bring my desktop to work) but yeah, I get around 46-55 FPS not bad for at work..

Oh Guess making awkward circles is the way forward!

So i’ve noticed if i kite mobs in a straight line from the position, it seems it gets to a certain distance and they reset.

Anyone else noticed this, just becoming annoying at times or am i just going mad?

I wish I could put my bars on the side and mini map in the middle… so much easier looking down and instead to a corner.

i usually have 20-25 fps when nothing is going on and in WvW it drops to 4-6 FPS making it unplayable. (on LOWEST graphics)

my computer (laptop) should easily be able to handle it. (Asus aspire 5750g)

20-25 when nothing is going on is bad, clearly it’s going to drop when you enter WvW with all that activity, that’s normal. But you must remember 20-25 fps, when nothing is happening is very poor! Also you’re not using a top end laptop.. You really should of got a desktop instead anyway WvW isn’t that good

try using a thing called game booster, it turns of all unnecessary activity, may help, may not but give it a try, worked for me on a few games IE RIFT.

Also this does take away some of the quality and I found it didn’t improve, but made it feel cheap and laggy.

I’ve been conditioning myself and applying poisons and bleeds, then swapping to piston/dagger to step away and finish that way

Yeah, if teleporting and logging may reset, it seems defiantly something to do as you get higher
Remember, it’s a monthly so you could level up and still get it for this month!

Learn to play a bit better? You can swap weapons, try use melee to stun or daze or something, then put some distance between you and kite.

(on a side note, the amount of people complaining about this is insane! This pvp is fine to me, it just takes more skill and reaction than standing there and pressing your buttons..)

Either, stay away from world events or anything that can pose a big threat. Or just level up and then do it, I mean people are already 80.. Should take long to get those 11 levels, and just play careful and use skill. Or power up then do it…

Maybe in a long way off in the future, but as it’s just launched I don’t think they’re gunna release a trial, seems to be normally when games hype/population dies.
