Hi there! I really highly encourgage you to apply to Remnants of Hope! We are Tarnished Coast-based, but welcome applications from all servers. We can help you transfer if you need, too.
Our website is http://www.remnantsofhope.com/gw2
It’s truly a community where members are treated as family instead of just another number on the roster. We are PvX, so there is something for every type of play style. We do have a lot of events in game, but there are social events, too, like Guild Karaoke, Game Night, in-game parties.
We’ll be happy to help you level if you need it! And when you reach 80, we do provide all of our guild members with a full set of level 80 exotics.
Here’s our forum post if you want to learn more:

The Remnants of Hope
Tarnished Coast, North America
http://www.remnantsofhope.com/gw2
About The Guild
Remnants of Hope was founded on June 7, 2009. Originally a Star Wars Galaxies guild, we have since moved on to play GW2, SWTOR and Wildstar, while continuing to have an active, positive presence in our games. In GW2, we currently have a group of about 15 – 20 members who play daily, with many other more casual players who pop in a few times a week, and we are looking to expand our ranks.
Tyria is a big world…a big, lonely, dangerous world. Remnants of Hope is like a beacon of…..well, Hope! You don’t have to face the elder dragons alone when you have guild mates to guard your back and pick you up when you’re knocked down. The people you adventure with are more important than the adventure itself.
We’re more than just a gaming guild – we are truly a community made of members who enjoy playing every single aspect of the games we enjoy, from PvE to RP to chattering socially with each other over our expansive forums and Teamspeak. We’re made up of hundreds of members from all over the world, with a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, genders and play styles. Even with our large member base, because we’re community-oriented you’ll never feel like just another cog in the wheel. We’ve only got one common goal – to enjoy our favorite online games together. Come join us today!
~ Remnants of Hope Community Leader
You might like our guild if you enjoy…
PvE
We not only help guild members enjoy the PvE content of GW2 but to assist them in improving and advancing their characters and personal skills within the game. We are always willing to provide advice/guidance on gearing and traiting different professions. Keep in mind that we don’t have all the answers, but we will help find them! We hope to see you in-game and in our events soon! We do dungeons, fractals, guild missions weekly, jumping puzzles, casual levelling groups, farming runs and living story content.
PvP
We encourage fun and friendly competitive gaming to both the fans of PvP gaming, and those curious about it. We are always willing to lend a hand with builds, classes, and general information about how the various forms of PvP are handled. Whether it be World vs World, Team Player vs Player, or just some mini games, the PvP Department is always striving to be a welcoming, fun, and laid back place for people to smash in a face or two!
RP
We provide our members with an immersive and fun experience for the new roleplayer to the seasoned writer alike. Whether it be in-game or on the forums, we want to promote imagination and storytelling that spans beyond just the Remnants of Hope guild borders. By working closely with other guilds, as well as our other GW2 Departments within RoH and organizing events with them, we aim for a continuous living story that people can get involved in and help to continue shaping.
Playing GW2 Socially or Casually
Although we have members doing progression fractals and working on legendaries, we also have many members who play when they have time, or enjoy the simpler pleasures in GW2 like levelling slowly or going on random adventures. We also have a very inviting approach when it comes to difficult content: many of our members are happy to bring along a “newbie” to dungeons or new content, but there’s no pressure for you to join events you aren’t interested in!
What we offer:
1. Very active forums
2. TeamSpeak 3 server
3. Freedom to play your game the way you want
4. Scheduled events on the calendar as well as “pop up” events put together through guild chat
5. Friendly community and environment
6. A structured leadership, with officers for each of our departments (PvE, PvP, RP and Recruitment)
What we value in our guild members:
Postitive Attitude
Maturity
Friendly Nature
Team Player
Respectful
How to join:
Visit us at remnantsofhope.com to apply and learn more!
Please view your application as our first meeting! Take your time and fill it out as thoroughly as possible. We like to get to know you a little bit in it. Give us a feel for who you are in those answers and let us see how great of a person you are!
If you haven’t yet found a guild, I absolutely love mine… Remnants of Hope. We’re PvX and have a lot of regular events. Mostly I love it because it’s a very social guild, on the forums and in chat. Here is our forum post if you want more info:

We are Tarnished Coast-based, but if you’re okay moving then that’s fabulous!
We’re very well-organized, many events, we’re on TS3 all the time, and we have extremely active forums on our website, http://www.remnantsofhope.com/
I would definitely encourage you to apply!
Well, I love my guild, Remnants of Hope. We’re extremely well-organized and active, with a big events calendar. The website is: http://www.remnantsofhope.com/
We’re mostly looking for team players who put community first. We do all forms of PvX regularly, as well as hosting guild Karaoke, game nights, and other purely social gatherings (mostly on Teamspeak 3).
Anyway, check us out!
Karaoke Night was a blast! Who knew so many people would want to step up and sing? =)
At the moment, enjoying World Boss Thursdays!!
Our PJ Party (Jumping Puzzles, that is) was absolutely fantastic! Thanks everyone for coming. I think one of the members gained a couple levels that evening!
Had a lovely time doing Dungeon Fungeon tonight!
Highly recommend this guild: http://remnantsofhope.com/

Okay, it started happening to me again. Does anyone else in here use a Razer product? Because I’m actually thinking it may be Synapse causing the issues.
Did my fix help anyone? Also, if it’s possible, have you tried playing on another computer to see if you have the same issue?
Got it. So, go to “Add or remove programs” and check to see if there’s a program installed that coincides with when the lag started. I uninstalled a few: Firefox, uTorrent, VAIO Update. I restarted and now the game works.
It might be something you yourself didn’t install, just an automatic update.
Yes! Exactly. It used to be less frequent for me as well. I’ve been trying to level an alt, though, and it’s impossible when you can’t ever finish an instance.
And… sadly… it’s getting worse. Now my session lasts about 30 seconds to a minute and then I’m booted. I can’t even fast travel because I don’t have time to click the waypoint, that’s how bad it’s gotten. Nothing else has this problem, just GW2.
So sad… :’(
Is there a fix for this error? I really, truly cannot play more than a few minutes without a sudden lag and then being kicked. Anytime I try to use a skill, interact/talk, even simply drag and drop items in my inventory/bank, there’s a lag. Pretty much the only thing I can do is randomly click buttons and hope the enemy is dead when the game catches up. And run around, somehow movement is not affected. Although sometimes when I go to a new place, there are no npcs. Just a blank environment.
Anyway, that is if the game eventually catches up. More often, I’ll just be booted to the login screen and see the code 7:11:3:191:101. Dungeons? Nope. Personal story instances? Nope. Hell, I can barely go to my home instance and mine my nodes, since “F” is a lag trigger and when I’m booted, I’m back in the city.
Please help. I really don’t want to quit. I have way, way too much invested here.
Thanks.
Tarnished Coast for the win!
My ranger is SB/A+T and I focus on condition in addition to power. Would NOT recommend that for a low-level build, though. GS/LB is what I used while leveling.
Ranger can teach bad habits, but so can necro. And like I said, it’s good to solo. Yes, you have a built in tank. So if you are alone, it takes the place of another player who would do that. And those bad habits definitely won’t hold if you’re soloing champs or facing harder bosses later on. You’ll have to learn to dodge and move.
So, I still have a ways to go for the massive achievement chest (5k achievement points). Guess I’ll make that my goal and shoot for mesmer when I have the experience scroll (and save up tomes and gold for crafting on the way).
I’m probs going to roll guardian then, so I can have all three armor types. It’s kind of arbitrary, but I’m on the fence.
I don’t have any lag time… it seems identical.
Have you tried just guesting on an NA server?
No, but there is a mace called Shiverstone. Also, Solaria and Lunaria from the fractals and Ancient Karka Shell (accessory).
That’s all I can think of.
Well, I’d argue that sexuality is more than just gentalia…
There’s a moment between Caithe and Faolain (can’t remember exactly when…) where Fao uses her magic to freeze Caithe in place while Caithe is trying to assassinate her… and basically teases her with her body. Really, I think she’s just running her (hands? tendrils?) along Caithe’s arms but it’s very suggestive! I could picture a leafy bodice being unlaced, tracing the lines of sap veins in the arms, digging in the grooves. Tapping for maple syrup, if you know what I mean.
This isn’t canon at all, but on some level I did picture the “organs” lighting up in the evenings similar to the glow patterns on the skin and getting more intense with the level of arousal.
Not only do I think the Sylvari are sexual, I think it could be very heady sex! I’m sure Caithe definitely loved Faolain’s “sylvar tongue,” anyway!
It’s pretty clear that Norns have been shrunken down from their GW1 height. But they’re still pretty darned tall. Playing with a Human or Sylvari after playing a Norn does feel like transforming from an adult into a toddler. However, do I want the Norns to be taller to match the lore? No. Honestly, would you really want to do a jumping puzzle with a Norn taller than 9’0?! Don’t get me wrong, I love my Norn. I honestly feel weird playing as anything other than Norn or Charr at this point because I feel… tiny. But d@mn those jumping puzzle views!

Which server are you on? The first thing I’d recommend is looking for a guild on you server. If you’re in a city, you could also look for local guilds. It’s nice to play with someone you can see, too. Then again, you’ll probably have long, dumb, wonderful conversations with your guildies in Mumble or Teamspeak, no matter where they live. Finding a guild that actively uses a chat system is great. What are your interests? You might be able to find a guild specifically for people with similar ones.
I joined with an EU code but paid to transfer to an NA server. It sucks, but it works.
Warrior is the most overpowered class, but it’s also great for beginners. You can range or melee, you can wear heavy armor yet have incredibly high base vitality (unlike a guardian which has one of the lowest base vitalities to make up for innate defense/healing skills). You can basically wear full berserker (power/precision/crit-based) armor and still tank.
Guardians are great but they’re support. You heal. You don’t die easily. You can solo incredibly hard bosses and win without dying… in like an hour plus. You’re best if you’re working with a few classes that focus on DPS, like ele or thief.
Personally, I would always recommend a ranger for a newbie. They’re not hard to solo and that lets you learn the basics of the game. And they’re very versatile, whether you want a tank, a healer, or a powerhouse, they’re not limited. They are a fantastic class, but especially good for someone learning how to play. Warrior a close second.
Where [are] all [of the] karma vend[o]rs in [G]uild [W]ars 2?
Lots of great input! Bri, sounds like we have the same inclinations.
So, now I’m thinking maybe Mesmer should be my second alt when I have some tomes saved up. Sounds like it’s loads of diverse fun… at high levels. (Or is that a cheap shot?)
I’m kind of leaning toward necro. Is there a reason you hate minions, bri?
Guardian seems like a good option, too. How’s the AoE damage?
And Xerion, don’t worry, Ranger will always be closest to my heart! But it’s a big wide world out there. ^^

I main a ranger right now, but at this point, I’m ready to devote some time to an alt. I just can’t decide which class to go for. I want something versatile and fun, with a myriad of different potential playstyles. I’ve explored ranger inside and out: ranged, melee, bunker, power, condi, spirits, traps, signets, even a beast master build. I’ve really enjoyed the many ways to play it, but I feel like I need to try something new. I’ve considered warrior, but it seems too OP and honestly, cliched. I tried elementalist but I didn’t really enjoy it. It’s just too squishy, and that’s not how I like to play. Right now, I’m kind of between mesmer, guardian, necro, and thief. I’d appreciate any thoughts.
Grins Glad to know non-cleft chin people feel the same way! It’s true that so many Disney princes have them. But what about the princesses? I feel like chin dimples are underrepresented in women in digital/animated media. I mean, it is more common for guys but girls have them, too. Sophia Loren, Demi Lovato, Sandra Bullock, Nikki Reed, Ava Gardner, Adele, Mila Kunis, Vanessa Hudgens, Blake Lively, Jessica Simpson…. to name a few.
I really wish to make a character based on my own face. I’m a woman, olive-skinned, dark haired, amber eyes. All of these are possible. So much is possible… but… I have a cleft chin. It becomes me, and on some very subtle but palpable level, defines my face. No character will look like me without it.
Even with all of the human and norn faces available, even with all of the customization settings, not one female with a butt chin! I’m not the only girl with one.
Should I make myself as a guy? I’ve tried it. It’s vaguely possible with the girly boy faces available, but it feels wrong.
In a nutshell… please make at least one female face with a cleft chin. Thanks!
I had some orichalcum ore listed for sale and it just sold… still zero coppers. :’(
Hi, I just sold a few gold worth of items to the highest bidder and in the pickup section of the TP, it shows me having 0 coppers available to take. Please help. I can’t afford to lose the golds right now.
Hi All,
I am new to GW2 and kind of new to MMOs in general. I joined for my best friend but she decided to quit just as I was joining. However, I really, really like this game!
I’m maining a ranger, level 37 right now. Just joined the OoW. I’d really like to find a good hardcore guild to help me level and just to hang and chat about GW2, too. Soloing is pretty easy with my pet, but it’d be nice to have a team for some of the harder challenges. Also, I want to level crafting but it’s so expensive on the TP and so time consuming when wandering; I feel like a guild bank should ideally have lots of the items gathered in game (and of course I would deposit those I find there as well!).
Once I get into higher levels, I think I could be an asset to a guild. I’m a fast learner and absolutely love GW2. It would make my life easier and my gaming experience more fun, too.
Anyway, thanks for looking!
