well big mistake thought i’d wait till morning to do AC, well whilst standing there a group rolled up and were going in, i made the 5th member, i’m lvl 80 but it is the only second time i’ve ever done a dungeon the first was CM, did watch on youtube first, the lowest lvl was 25, but no one else over lvl 60, the other lvl 56 and 48, it was not good, alot of dying of party members and at certain points myself and i spend alot of time moving, human warrior, traits build for range as rifle is my fav weapon, not much communication though, we killed the Lieutenant (he chased me alot) then when we went up the stairs into the room where the WP is and we just all died and that was it, ppl then just left, so they gave up, cowards :p
Knockdown duration is too long. A snowball enemy can basically keep you stunlocked from full HP until you die, because he can re-stun you before you even have a chance to dodge. Losing control of your character for 15 seconds is not fun gameplay; in fact, it’s not gameplay at all.

Overall the people experience is pretty good and i’m new to mmo’s so do not know the etiquette, i said in the chat window in game early on that i wished i had a better rifle, someone asked what lvl i was and i told them i was a human warrior at such and such lvl and they sent me mail and had crafted me one, i thanked them i thought that was very gracious and will not be forgotten, another lent me 1 gold, i hadn’t asked but i had got myself into lack of funds so i couldn’t buy my trait skills book and i was very grateful, i repaid them, as i know how to make gold now ;) :p Then someone offered out some rare weapons which i accepted, i gave them the price on what they were listed in game for, not knowing that the price of those weapons would of been much higher if they’d sold them on the trading post, i only started using the TP yesterday and i’m lvl 80 :( ;)
The only thing that erks me is playing alone, when i try to follow others i get the feeling they don’t want me to tag along, why i have no clue, i don’t go drawing enemies in, i wait for their cue’s so really just there as back up so how inconvenient can that be, i do find it weird.
I thought i just an issue with my perception of time, oh as a solo player mostly (not by choice) and a noob the invulnerable bug and the over zealous re-spawn rates are like a death knell.
Already in the union really nice bunch of ppl but not seen anyone on in Gunnar’s Hold, well i’m defiantly on in the late evening, i’m going to try this afternoon instead, my day is hectic as i’m a single parent with my youngest being 2 1/2 years, he has just started nursery, i have a horse (do natural horsemanship) so that is another time hole :p i do core workout in the mornings then cardio in the afternoons so yeah i workout 2hrs most days, but can take time out, i put in a 16 hrs into the LS event over that weekend, but i am a serious noob so need educating in MMO’s, i wouldn’t like to have to leave the union as they make me smile, but would like others to play with whilst lvling, because i am missing group events, MARA i would be interested in, like i said i will tag along with what others are doing i don’t want to put anyone out in that way.
I’m on Gunnar’s Hold EU i have played through now to lvl 61 nearly all alone, occasionally see someone else and team up, but it is far and few, doing group events are impossible as you can’t do them alone, so as i play through i am missing all those group events, that can’t be right surely, the maps are forever alone sparkfly fen, i’m quite happy to travel or just tag along some where else, weeps.

I went up here 3 times so i could do the champ, i got the loot from the chest near the champ the first time, but not enough of us to kill. We finally had enough ppl the third time.
Recently against underwater mobs, while in the middle of DPSing with a spear, I’ll get “Invulnerable” messages. If I’m alone, the mob resets, several seconds pass, and then I can hit it again. I unfortunately have no idea right now as to what is causing it, but I do know it doesn’t have anything to do with me pushing the mob through a rock or anything, as it has happened in the middle of open water.
Has anyone else experienced this? It’s been a recent occurrence, and might have something to do with Tsunami Slash.
Not a Warrior issue – when mobs often bug out underwater and go invulnerable. It’s code that’s added in to prevent you from killing mobs in ways that prevent them from ever being able to reach you (same if you shoot them from cliff edges and there’s no real way up to you).
Well it is broke and needs fixing because i have been getting this with foes every where, land and sea and they can get to me, sometimes i’m right on top of them.
i’m getting a nice lil of collection of screens all of enemies “that can get to me” but are invulnerable.
Oh the deaths i have died this way as the OP has stated so i stopped using it, presently bugging me most is when a foe is “invulnerable” i can be right on top of them and they still lose no health, but they can damage me.
Is this a bug? Surely it should be the other way around. Most of the time irl, more bodyfat leads to larger breast sizes because breasts are 90% fat.
haha you are not female are you? let me enlighten you as you seem very much mislead, people that are fat may have bigger breasts, say like men with moobs, so you store fat over breast tissue, the breast is not bigger and breasts are not 90% fat.
I just have to leave group events because there is no group to do them with, example “laughing gull island” it is annoying as i like to complete also, it doesn’t matter what lvl i will always go back to see if i can do them, just need to find ppl to do them with.

I think they will sort something out, well i hope they do, because i spent hours, the time i played was great fun but to be totally bugged so not to complete in the overflow i was in, i was there from the beginning, from a tiny group to 60 plus players.
The best buff to your jumping skills is mesmer portal.
Totally agree, i did skipping stones on the Lost Shore event, did it first time not enough ppl to do the champ, then the second time someone offered a short cut as in portal, still not enough ppl to do the champ, did it again, still as frustrating, but least there were enough ppl to do the champ, if someone had offered a portal again i would of took it.
I used to have fun with GW2. Not anymore. I am a veteran of mmos, going back to 1999 with Mankind, and then with EVE Online, Project Enthropia, DDO, Shaiya, KoK3, etc. GW2 started off amazingly well. I loved it! You needed to be good at tactics, strategy, long term planning and you needed to have keyboard and mouse skill as well (which I love as I type very fast and have very good reflexes).
However, GW2 is fast becoming a very anti social game. To begin with, you hardly need to talk to anyone to do anything. There is very little friendship making at all, in fact, it is the first time that I play any mmo where i have not made any new friends at all (despite trying). The only friends I have in the game came from other games we used to play together.
Then bots appeared. Then the lag. (was it the other way around? hehe). Every time I found something that needed addressing (lag, bots, drop rates, DR, etc) every single time I mentioned it in chat, someone would immediately jump up and start insulting me, or telling me to stop whining, crying, or to leave the chat and kitten . GW2 chat channels are so empty already as it is, they want to keep anyone from saying anything that is bothering them? It has become so bad that today I just mentioned about how weird it is (and annoying) that champion and veteran mobs hardly ever drop any loot (& when it drops it is porous bones) yet spider hatchlings have consistently given me rares and masterwork every single time, and these guys who apparently must have been just waiting for anyone to say anything, started insulting me and making me look like an idiot.
They spoiled the game so much for me that I just stopped playing. Not that much to do when you are level 80 and have 100% map completion anyway. Hardly anyone talks, nothing exciting going on, all events are the same and are now botted to infinite and beyond so this was the last straw for me.
Funny that I mostly get killed only when I run around reviving people. Every single time I see a dead or downed player on the mini map I run to them to help them. But god forbid I try to say something in chat.
With that said, it is very likely I will stop playing GW2, at least for a while.

This is my experience, it is like forever alone and the chat windows are dead, are there actually others playing i sometimes wonder, i thought i might actually make friends to play with, but it has been so bleak, i will always help out where i can and i always say thankyou when i have been res, that first dungeon i did no communication at all and no direction given, hopeless, i’d like to do it again, but don’t want to feel like i’ve let my party members down.
@akamon I’m actually only Fractal level 2 and am saving up mats for a basic exotic armor set. My guildmate (lvl 80 guardian) is to a-scared to try anything tougher without getting a good group (and the guild isn’t large enough to field a party). I’m used to dying all the time, so trying something over my head doesn’t bother me as much. Weekends are in general good, though this weekend is crazy b/c of Thanksgiving.
@M Eight Seven (duffy): Welcome! And who needs a dog crate when you can buy them a Wii and teach them good gaming habits early? I have fond memories of Mario, Duck Hunt, and the Sesame Street games on the NES.
Arh it was an in joke as Clara from The Guild was using a dog crate I have every console, right down to a snes and megadrive, my 5 year old actually loves to play GW2 on the beginning areas, she has been playing a DS since 2 1/2 years and now a 3ds zelda etc, ps3 skylanders and of course the wii.
Oh i forgot just to say i can handle the swearing, i use cans anyway, are you ready for mine, or do we have to watch what we say, i’m not very good at being reserved and i’m female.
When i have some time over the weekend i’ll pull my beyers headset out and go direct to sound card, i like using my amp normally so no voice chat, so i’ll try mumble then, i need mentoring :p

Active: I play when i can, but can play for many hours sometimes, try to play every day, but sometimes if i’m really busy i don’t, as i have very young children (where is my dog crate)
Additional Comments: Have a fast connection over 100 Mb’s and have been building my own gaming rigs since 98/99, yes i have an ekitten, so my rigs aren’t lacking but my MMO skillz are.
Are you willing to participate in Operation: UNION’S project: i suppose the answer to that would have to be yes.
It is a friendly game for the most part, but quite a lonely game as well i’m finding as i am levelling, i think i’m at laughing gulls forever alone, so that can be frustrating when there are group events but no one to do it with, not that i feel entitled for others to help but they can’t be completed on ones own.

Well i put in a load of hours over this weekend, to be stuck in an overflow, where the event bugged out, i’m not very happy and to top it all slightly broke.
but there are only about 5 ppl trying to do the event… on the whole overflow… i dont think that will do it
no of course it wont 60 plus people maybe, i was at the beginning of the event, in an overflow, it got to a certain point and just bugged, lion guard demolition squad, no point in waiting, it has been like it now for literally hours at that point, just wasted hours of my time so yes i’m peeved, they could of told us whilst they were there ingame, not to bother any longer and that it was a doubtful fix, unfair.
