I was thinking it might be fun to do angels from the other races. Like Sylvari could have butterfly wings, asura have like these cool digital wings, norn with jumbo wings?, and charr would look kinda funny with wings but maybe it could still be cool. Maybe bat wings for charr xD

The effect is really neat! I like how clean your lines are! It’s really a cool pic! It may have been an accident, but that effect is pretty awesome! It almost looks like a picture engraved into stone. It’s really, really cool!

One of my favorite parts of Wintersday was the snowball fights! I didn’t really care about achievements but I loved playing in them! They’re so fun!

Deadline Extended 2 More Days. I will now need sign ups by December 22nd. On the Morning of the 23rd, I will send out the private messages. I appreciate Fievre and Deus for responding within the first time period I gave out. Going to try really hard to find people to join, but if not then its a party of 3! The deadline to get the drawings done will probably be January 7th, unless people feel like they need more time!

Request: Please draw my character Layla Estrella together with my friend’s character Bobb B with Bobb’s arm around Layla. They can be stand or sitting with some nice scenery of your choice. It’s hard to tell but bobb has blue eyes, not black slits.
Do you plan to use color or just make a line drawing?: I will do color, and probably use traditional media like watercolor or colored pencil.
Do you receive/check your PM’s?: Yes.

Okay I only got one reply to my idea, but I got a few views, so I’m hoping this will work out great! I’m excited! Please read the few rules I have before posting! If you like to just skim through text, I tried to bold the critical parts. If you need all the info though, here it is!

If you want to join, post on this forum page by the deadline. The request deadline will be December 25th. December 26, I will private message(PM) everyone with the request they get.

I want to match up people who will be willing to do the same amount of work with each other. For example, a person who is only willing to do a simple drawing of a single character will be matched up with someone else who is putting in roughly the same simple drawing. Someone else might be willing to draw 3 characters, plus color, so I want to make sure things are fair as possible and that the other person is willing to do that extra work.

So remember if you request a lot, you’ll end up doing a lot for someone else.

Reference links are very important. Private messages(PM’s) don’t seem to allow attachments, so if you want your character drawn, you’ll need to upload it somewhere else and post it. However, I just discovered the image code works for PM, so if you’d rather post the actual image instead of the link to the image you can type [img]pictureURLhere[/img] under links. It won’t show up on the forums, but it will in the PM. References are not limited to character images. If you want a specific pose and have the perfect photo, that’s fine too.

If your answer to receiving/checking PM’s is “no,” please add in your email address.

When you finish your half of the art trade…..:

Post it on THIS forum page please!! Then people can see the success rate of this event, and I’ll decide whether or not to do it again.

Also send your finished work to the person’s display name that you receive, so they know you finished.

Okay so I’ve been thinking about this for a few days now and I hope it works out well.

I think it would be awesome if many of us guild wars fan artists did an art trade.

I have a few ideas for how to make this work out.

1. Everyone post their request, to make things simple, we could say that you draw the person 2 posts down from you. There would be a deadline and the second last and last person would have to draw people at the beginning of the list.

2. Everyone post their requests, then I’ll randomly pick who people get. I could private message people with the request they get (It would kinda turn this into a secret Santa sorta deal.)

3. Everyone post requests, and at the top of the forum page I make, I will edit my post with a list of who wants what, then after the sign up dead line, people can simply post and claim which request they want to take to draw and then I would edit that request on my list as (taken.)

I would definitely make a new forum topic when this idea is set in stone with whatever option.

I need to know if people are willing to participate. If you are, and you’re willing to make suggestions please tell me! I plan on messaging the gw2 fan group on deviantart about this event and try to get as many people involved as possible!

If and when we do this event, I think everyone art should be posted on the forum topic, and probably also private messaged to the original requester. (I think receiving private messages might be an option under your forum settings…so if you don’t get private messages, maybe you would be willing to email instead?)

Let her know it’s amazing! I love it! I had to work with ink for an art class this semester and it was fun, but also scary because unlike a pencil, you can’t really go back and “fix” things! I commend her willingness to work with ink!!

@Fay, I know right! That’s exactly how I was! And that does make sense, I guess I’ve never been one to care about being the main hero. Tybalt was an awesome character too. It’s sad what happens, but I guess it makes the story.

I like how you had each person salute solo, but one after another. It created kinda a cool effect!!

I’d love to see a tutorial. I love art. But I use pencils, paint, or a tablet. I’ve wanted to try clay or whatev people use for a while, I’d love to make my own little figurines xD Once I found a book at the library on painting animals on rocks! I made a rock elephant and an owl! It actually turned out pretty cool ^^ Maybe I’ll try a rock quaggan

So in my library system I found Ghosts of Ascalon by Matt Forbeck and Jeff Grubb and Edge of destiny by John Robert King. Edge of Destiny seems more geared towards Guild Wars 2. (Sorry I wasn’t sure where to put this topic….haha, hopefully it’s in the right spot, but I realize these guys probably had some play in the creation of the games. I feel like such a noob for not knowing things xD)
I was just wondering if anyone here has read them and what are their thoughts on these books! :P Thanks!
