rumor has it that rezzing downed players greatly affects the outcome of that battle…
Strike Force [SF]
@ Czar Peter : it was due to recent events. If you want more detailed info, get in touch with WM directly, there’s a few people who can relay info to you in English.
Also, I find it a bit difficult to swallow that someone from [Agg] is complaining about numbers, seeing that you guys roll with 40+ people into a supply camp. But hey, to each their own
Strike Force [SF]
SBI BL last night – started with 5-8s lag spikes, then couldn’t stay longer than 20-30s before DC hit me. After about 10 times logging into game being in downed state (lol) and DC’ing again after entering map…
Moved to another BL and all was fine..
Strike Force [SF]
You could get in touch with the servers you’re facing via PM’s ingame and let them know what’s happening.
Not only report those exploiters to ANet, but also report their actions in real-time to other servers, so they are prepared. 1-2 people in a tower will throw a brick at that exploiter and he can’t take crap anymore.
Not only does it thwart those s…ers, but also clearly sends a message to all involved
Strike Force [SF]
@ Cover Girl
No. I don’t have a guilty mind or bad conscience at all – sorry to burst your bubble. But a generalization like that – I won’t let that fly by. That has been sorted, so I don’t see any reason why you now get involved into something between Lavish and myself that has been sorted – nothing of that was directed at you, so I could throw Mr Freud right back at you. I won’t, though.
More importantly – Anet.. Please… Give us an advance warning..
@ Agg – awesome fight there
@ Tsym – stop running
And at that poor excuse of an exploiter currently running on the SBI Server – i truly hope you get banned.
Strike Force [SF]
Let them… my "vengeance: will hit their office on the 24th… they printed their address on the envelope..
*smirk
Strike Force [SF]
@Lavath:
Well, then why don’t you start working on the defensive ? You – as others – rather point the finger instead of DOING it.
I even drop you the siege blueprints, but I don’t have time nor fun running the supplies for all it. I have done it for hours and days on end, it bores the living daylights out of me. I rather enjoy havoc, zerg busting or hammer pain train on pink armor night…
And to call out all commanders for not acting strategically/tactically… well… it’s a slap in the face of those who do, just because you either don’t know about their coordination or can’t see it… that’s IMHO ofc…
If you’re a defensive-minded player, then I’d suggest to get in touch with the commanders “running wild” and aligning your efforts with theirs. Keep scouts out to get a heads-up when the enemy comes and call in the troops. I know we’ve fallen back to help out whenever it’s possible for us.
If you don’t want to do that, that’s fine, too. Just don’t complain about others behaving exactly the same way you do.
Strike Force [SF]
I’m not exactly sure how I got on that list, although I have a suspicion, but I was genuinely happy, surprised, excited and moved by the hand-signed XMas card I’ve got out of my mailbox…
…even without my magic find gear
Thanks alot guys <3
Strike Force [SF]
What the leaders of SBI ….
You should understand that SBI has no “leader”. Only a wyld bunch of commanders that work together when we find each other online.
Speaking for my guild only, we play to have fun, go out, hand out olive oil to make certain grab-yo-ankles more bearable since we care about our opponents
There’s no difference made between which server that “red dood” originates from.
Winning T1 = numbers + coverage. We’ve been there, both SBI and JQ won T1 and both don’t have the coverage to win.
What we do have is the ability to have fun, smack people around, and at times get smacked in return.
Strike Force [SF]
I’ve seen several trait effects not triggering since one of the last updates…
Last Stand – don’t see that triggering anymore, same with the traits that auto trigger Defy Pain and Shake it Off at certain health levels…
Anyone can confirm this ?
Strike Force [SF]
I’m still confused…
Either Dagger Storm – which can’t be spammed – or Dancing Daggers – which can be spammed, but is a different skill…
And you wouldn’t CnD to throw a DD and then CnD again.. that’s just a waste…
Strike Force [SF]
Not an option.
I do not surrender the option to cap a NW tower in a foreign borderland just because someone placed a treb or two within the spawn and can defend it without taking any damage at all. However, those trebs can cover quite a wide area and make any siege on that particular tower very difficult.
If you remember, on the NE side, certain locations were disabled since we could initially place catapults there to cover the tower’s front area. While that has been fixed, it’s still an issue on the NW side of the map.
Strike Force [SF]
@Columba
it seems your issue is with Cloak and Dagger —> Backstab —> Cloak and Dagger … and the culling due to the very short period of “unstealthing” for hitting Backstab.
Those high damage numbers are composed by
a) 100% crit chance while attacking in stealth
b) double-damage from backstab while hitting from behind
Either you should play a CnD stabby yourself, or check the skill descriptions of the ones I mentioned. It should show you how that thief moves to maximize the damage potential, and in turn should show YOU how to move to prevent that from happening.
Strike Force [SF]
That was exactly my point… those thieves are bad and if you die to them, well, you deserve it
At least they didn’t backstabbed you for 10k
Strike Force [SF]
I can’t dodge what I can’t see. Because of the culling bug, we never see them.
That would only be true for the first heartseeker, not subsequent ones, and let’s not talk about opening with HS out of stealth.
So you just stand there and let them pound you ? Get damage from an invisible foe and never once try to dodge away at all ? I mean.. this isn’t Aion. You actually CAN and SHOULD dodge…
Strike Force [SF]
^^ Especially if he would dodge that, which is veeeery easy if it’s spammed… Not that it’s difficult in the first place
Strike Force [SF]
Well, it’s questionable from my point of view if you can use that to defend siege, like Trebs, that are only damageable via AoE from below when you can stand above, invulnerable, pounding down at ppl.
Again, not an exploit, just something for ANet to fix. You shouldn’t be able to drop siege when you’re in an invulnerable zone, and once you jumped down, you shouldn’t be able to be invulnerable anymore…
Strike Force [SF]
Highest dps, best mobility, stealth. All in one class. Broken.
Sigh. Columba. Is Thief now the new EZMode ?
They have low HP, 2-3 moderate crits drop them already. You can dodge their cloak and dagger, making them waste lots of initiative, which hurts those setups more than anything, especially if you’re dealing with HS spammers that are just plain boring.
Yes, a well-played thief can own, but so can any other class if it’s well played.
Best advice was still to roll one yourself, learn the strengths and weaknesses, learn how their mechanics work and you’ll know how to counter them.
Strike Force [SF]
What about treb spots within your spawn area in your own BL which are close to unreachable via AoE and leaves defenders invulnerable…
Those should be fixed. If you’re invulnerable to damage, you shouldn’t be able to plant siege…
Strike Force [SF]
Agg, Thank you!!
OMG, didn’t they tell you to not drink the water? It makes the Charr pee wildly on guildmates… and flaming purple!
You don’t mess around on pink armor night man
Strike Force [SF]
Uhm..happy to post you the video that actually shows your guys wall climbing into the tower… it’d be an infraction most likely.
But at least we know now where you stand… right on top of the exploiter’s bandwaggon
Strike Force [SF]
Being on SBI from the very beginning, yes, there’s something like server pride.
I’d post more, but I have the strong feeling that it would stirr the moderator’s forum-server’s pride and will get deleted and earn me my monthly infraction achievement…
we shall see
Strike Force [SF]
While I switch maps, I haven’t seen DR affecting badge drops to be honest.
I can keep an eye on that, since I honestly never bothered to check that out before, spending my badges on siege made me kinda neglect that
I only started looking at the drops because of this thread.
You just have to learn to hit “F” in the middle of the battle so you pick them up while you fight, so you don’t lose them in case you die to a zerg.
As a starter, run in a small group and flip supply camps, those NPC’s drop badges, too, and it’s quick and easy to do…
Strike Force [SF]
I don’t understand some people..
You play a MMO – a massive multiplayer online game, yet complain when you should group up with others. Clearly, some have missed the picture here. You knew what game you were buying from the very start.
That aside, even in 2hrs of running in a 4 man team last night I got about 30 badges from kills only. Don’t see anything wrong with the drop rate. Also, i got 2 20-slot boxes full of green/blue drops that vendor for quite a bit, including one rare L77 drop.
Lastly, ANet is not ignoring WvW, you’re just being too impatient. The game isn’t even out 6 months, there have been numerous fixes and changes in relation to requests and complaints from the community already, and they’re working on the rendering and culling issues, which alot of people have complained.
But I guess you can’t make everyone happy.
Bottom line, if you need badges fast, farm the puzzles with all toons, That’ll yield at least 50 badges per day for about 1hr worth of work, and some siege blueprints and drops on top of that.
Strike Force [SF]
Score Update 6:50pm EST
SBI 109.933 +190
SoS 84.301 +255
JQ 74.449 +250
Strike Force [SF]
So, the full exotic armor set is gonna cost you 1889 badges.
You can make easily 50 badges per day in WvW, it’s usually more – talking about those that drop from kills, since I don’t do puzzles. Nothing wrong with the droprate, but maybe your servers/tier population ?
You could always use a few alts to cycle through the jumping puzzles in the borderlands. It’s 3-6 badges per toon per day, and they are account-bound, so you can move them from one toon to another easily.
4 Toons times 3 Borderlands times 4 Badges (on average) = 48 Badges for about 30min-1hr of daily work.
You should have your gear by now already
Strike Force [SF]
SBI does not have guild map assignments hell I don’t even think JQ does either. We just go where the fights are.
Not true. I know that the dedicated WvWvW guilds essentially do have map assignments. The problem is, our numbers seem to be getting smaller and smaller, and these dedicated guilds (like mine) find themselves having to leave their assigned BL to help out another BL.
I can point out a lot of guilds, such as [WM], [Ph], [LoD], [SF], [Rage], [Sent] and others who will chose maps when they log on and change maps as required through the course of an evening. [NoPe] is more an exception as EB based guild, formed out of players on EB mostly.

You mean “your plan”… There’s a difference there, just pointing that out
Perhaps you should get on board and follow plans instead of running wild. Just pointing that out,
… to be continuedon the SBI forums…
Strike Force [SF]
So, someone who’s crying for a 2v1 is calling someone else a weak link…
Why don’t you start being strong again and fight back, like you’re supposed to do in this tier ?
Strike Force [SF]
@Kanikani – assuming your server doesn’t know it’s commanders and has no voice comms. It wouldn’t work like that on SBI
-1 for Theorycrafting.
Strike Force [SF]
What cold said.
If you do a “/squadjoin <commander>” you wont see any other commander icons anymore, and allow the commander to see what he/she has available.
But I also agree – sometimes I’d volunteer to pay 100g to get someone’s commander tag removed… /doh
Strike Force [SF]
Given the sheer size and diversity of a servers’ playerbase, I consider it ludicrous to assume someone can exert enough control over all these people 24/7 to uphold agreements to maintain a teamup against another server.
It’s more Serveer A taking advantage of server B and C fighting somewhere. It’s the nature of the beast and there by design. Sadly, the QQ is there, too. Just ignore it.
Yes, some servers might play obviously for 2nd place at times, but that again is their tactical choice and a valid one. It’ll add fuel to the 2v1 discussion, but so far I haven’t seen any teamups in T1.
The only time was a JQ/SBI/HOD matchup after HOD’s implosion where HOD was virtually absent and began their move downwards, which ended up in 1v1+handicap match.
TL;DR: 2v1 happens by design, no teaming-up agreements are in place.
Strike Force [SF]
Knock SoS back to tier 2 will give us a wake up call. I think we got lazy cruising to the top.
SBI showing us why they’re a tier 1 server.
Our plan is to get Yaks Bend and ET in T-1. BOOM. Mind Blown.
You mean “your plan”… There’s a difference there, just pointing that out
Strike Force [SF]
Well, during a normal evening of WvW killing peeps, I get an average of 50-70 badges…
It’s almost all spent on siege weapons, but meh, getting badges without jumping puzzles isn’t too difficult – given that you have lots of epic battles
Strike Force [SF]
I disapprove. Flame Ram’s are our calling card, although we place them in supply camps only.
Not sure about them impostors, sometimes there are some crazy people to drop them in those places to max out siege, aka working for the enemy. Sometimes you just clicked the wrong thing and too many players fail the basic IQ test of not building it.
Not sure what it’s in this particular case, but hell, I want to build another 90 flame ram choo choo train one of these days.
Strike Force [SF]
PvD = Player vs Door.
<sarcasm>a real challenge</sarcasm>honestly i’m not bothered to lose a map once we’re logging off. we’re still having tons of fun taking it back, and that’s what it’s all about – fun. And yes, we can still dooo eeeet…
Strike Force [SF]
I dont think it’s that easy to fix.
Following your solution, you’d be able to stand on a rock that the mob’s can’t get to and kill them without ever being hit. While it’s nice and works in other game, I’m quite happy to see that his is NOT desired behaviour in GW2.
That fix will be a bit more difficult
Strike Force [SF]
I’ve actually seen it happen in PvE as well. While levelling a toon, I ran into the horde doing the Straits of Devastation event chain. Halfway through that chain, the mobs started to disappear and only re-appeared when being very close to it.
On top of everything else, this has a bit of memory leak ring to it…
Strike Force [SF]
The most annoying thing is that the mob will heal up in the meantime, while you stay in combat and don’t heal back up. The mob then, after the half-reset, comes back and often with friends..
While it happens on land, too, I usually see it happen under water quite often
Strike Force [SF]
Not sure it would classify as a bug, but since I haven’t seen a number yet, I have to post it here anyway.
Apparently, there’s a MAX number of siege weapons any server can place on a map at any given point in time. Can we please confirm this ?
After we built our Train of Flame last night, we could not place any siege weapons anywere else on the entire Borderland. It made sieging and defending quite interesting.
It was a total of 93 Flame Rams, and given that there was bits and pieces of siege weapons elsewhere, I guesstimate the max is somewhere between 100-128.
Can we get an official confirmation for that, please ?
