If you feel a certain guild should come to your server, the best way is still to approach them directly, and TALK to the, most definately not theorycrafting server population based on assumptions on a forum…

I’m sad to see SoS disappear like that, we always had great fights and I truly enjoyed all our clashes. Best of luck, whether you buckle up and sit tight or find a new home.

Weren’t you from SBI yourself? Here let me give you a brief version of what happened back in the good old days.

JQ and SoS commanders were in the same TS server every night, communicating on how to take out SBI together. Thought that was common knowledge.

SBI commanders were constantly harassed by hostile private messages. And the SBI TS server were f-bombed by trolls, to the point that our TS population dropped by 80%.

Spies were rampant back in the days. So were hours long afkers that takes up player map space.

Ever seen those hours long spawn camping by one server, while the other server take our towers and keeps?

It was total war. No ethics or classy was considered. Everything possible were used to gain an advantage over SBI.

Sure I will agree that the SBI implosion wasn’t 100% everyone else’s fault. But I am still gonna popcorn the current T1 situation.

Yes. I was on SBI, i’m, together with Jedbacca, the GM of Strike Force.

And you need to work on your facts.. they’re not correct. But whatever..

I remember back then how SoS and JQ would team up to 2v1 SBI 7 days a week. They were the best of friends against a common enemy. SBI finally got demoralized and imploded.

BS on the 2v1…. Let’s clean this up right now. It didn’t happen. In a 3-way fight, there’s always 2v1 situations, they happen naturally and by design. To a certain extend, you can control that. SBI wasn’t very good at that, and if you attack both fronts, you have to expect to get hit from both sides. I had thought by now that people had caught on to that.

The “implosion” of SBI happened for other reasons that you simplified, and ultimately not because we were beaten in matchups by SoS and JQ. It was more complex and had to do with the unhappiness of players at WvW progression in general, new PvE content and overall overtime put into WvW and missing rewards from it. It lead to a decline in the active WvW population…

To get back to the current matchup, it kinda reminds of the one right after HoD imploded and JQ vs SBI vs HoD turned into a 1v1 between SBI and JQ. Come on SoS, you can do better than that

The solution is pretty obvious. Some of the guilds that recently joined JQ should transfer to TC. If that happened, you would have six very competitive servers in the top two tiers.

Tell all guilds on TC, K and SoS leave, and spread over SoR and Blackgate to make up a new T1. Or maybe TC, SoS and Blackgate implode in favor of SoS and K ? Or, …

It’ll make ANet happy though, with all the GEMs ppl would have to buy. Are you by chance getting a commission out of that ?

No.

All you have is a perception that JQ is now “stacked”, and other servers are not. And that doesn’t even include the difference between population and attendance, in case someone is shouting “but we’re outmanned”.

T1 maps are more complex/difficult due to the coverage, numbers and employed strategies derived from that.

SoS recruits and gets quite a few guilds, its ok. JQ recruits and gets quite a few guilds, everyone that goes to JQ is considered a bandwagoning coward. What is wrong with this picture?

For starters you not even being in T1 and commenting on the situation is wrong for a start because you have no first hand experience as to what is currently happening.

Secondly the matches were reasonably close over the last few months and JQ gaining a few extra numbers would of made for some interesting close matches in the upcoming weeks. BG probably could of done with a few more bandwagoning guilds than both SoS and JQ – but that didn’t happen.

Now JQ doesn’t just get a few guilds, they get a truck load of them tipping the balance way too much in their favour. Understand now why people are complaining? What could of been some close exciting matches are now just ruined by too many guilds wanting to follow others into the one server.

So just because he’s not in T1 means he’s not entitled to have an opinion and voice it ? Which country do you live in…. srsly.

Well, the “other” map in T1/2 is usually the EB jumping puzzle..

it’d be great of people could log on to that map and NOT take slots of the main map anyway… Also, at times, you have epic fights. Now even WITHOUT siege weapons,…

So you’ll then end up having players perm “scouting” (aka sitting there getting bored to death) in keeps and towers to announce enemy forces arriving.

Not that this doesn’t happen already…

I don’t mind the orange swords. They force you to play smart when dealing with larger groups and still allow to ninja stuff if you play it right. Removing them would make things too easy.

I can feel a lot of the normal grind burnout that a lot of these other players are feeling.

This is what brought down the Titan Alliance FYI.

I think what he was originally saying it’s nice to be able to enjoy the game and not burn himself out on trying to handle everything in wvw as a guild. It’s allowing us to enjoy other aspects of the game we normally haven’t been able to enjoy when we were on low population servers.

Especially if you look at the history of SF when we had that job on SBI, which was a massive burn-out waiting to happen for us.

And since someone mentioned it a few pages ago, we actually DID do research on which server to join, and when I first got that ingame mail from JQ, I had almost clicked the “return to sender” button. (i didn’t like the cookie flavor attached…)

Research and talks with different server communities basically made JQ the best choice for us.

And look now. Jed can do PvE. Who would’ve thought that… haha

I pretty much lost respect toward PRX guild the other day when I saw their entire zerg using Potion of Ascalonian mages —-- they fully know what it does and yet they choose to take advantage of it.

Dunno – what does it do ? SF used it as a joke occasionally, since we have Pink Armor Nights, Iron Man Armor Nights, … so it’s really for the outfit. What effect [other than us not being able to use siege weapons] does it entail ?

Uhm. Hate to break your bubble, but they didn’t. As one of those guilds who was actually out there fighting, we should know. JQ was very good at playing the opportunistic game, I agree, but there has never been an alliance between them and SoS.

SBI would still be in T1 if a lot of guilds had actually shown up for the fight.

Notrub nailed it down pretty good. SBI turned out to not be a hardcore WvW server, which makes it difficult for those dedicated guilds which naturally would have to carry the weight. It wasn’t planed like that from the start, but a steady shift in focus of the servevrs community.

Our “mistake” was to not realize this sooner…

While I wish you guys the best of luck on the rebuilding / rallying, I’d like to point out that your reasoning for those guild who have recently left is not entirely accurate to say the least. Certainly not from those guilds’ point of view.

Srsly. The 20 person limit on portal is just fine, You can still get a good enough force moving with with a single mesmer and need to coordinate a little. What’s more the case is that for large insta-portalling of Golems [like chaining multiple portals at the same time, effectively travelling great distances in no time] is more difficult that way and requires more mesmers. That’s perfectly fine, as it’s now more difficult to instantly show up with 15 golems and NO warning at a gate. If you being more mesmers to work around it, you can’t bring other classes that you might need.

Portals still are a great tool for position management and other tactics. I don’t see them dead at all.

I hope all of the guilds that transferred to your server get locked in, and they close server transfers, or at least make them cost money. I’m sure your WvW experience will suck with long queue’s etc. Have fun with that.

So you say they don’t have any honor because they spawn camp you when they can, or because you have to go against larger numbers. Well, hate to break it to you, but this is what happens in other tiers. Be that as it may though, I find it “interesting” that you wish so many bad things on them.

What does it say about your own honor ?

They can’t be on all maps all the time. So go where they are not, if it’s a problem. See how they play and what their style is, read their movements and counteract them. That’s how it works, that what makes this all fun.

It is, after all, a game, a past time we all use to have fun and enjoy ourselves.

I think the downed state is essential to the removal of dedicated healers from the game, essentially breaking up the trinity and allowing you to do everything in the game with whoever is just available rather then specific class combinations.

That’s not to say class combos don’t exist – that’s where the combo fields and other synergies come into play..

To get back on downed state, apart from some minor tweaks, it’s just fine as it is. I honestly don’t want those stupid fights we had in Aion, and yes, while sometimes somebody slips past you in downed state, it’s just fine.

It also allows us in mumble to call out “make them downies” or “double-downies”. But that’s just us… haha

Does anyone ACTUALLY know what happened this week with the score? The score just doesn’t go from 3k point spread between each server for 5 weeks then a 50k+ spread over one week.

Both, JQ and SBI had oceanic coverage, so they held each other in check somewhat, allowing the early day coverage on SoS to make good on points.

With [WM] having left SBI, that counter-balance to JQ’s oceanic coverage isn’t there anymore, allowing them to make a huge leap in points there. It also puts JQ into the position to start NA with upgraded keeps and towers, making it more easily defensible, thus prolonging the point lead there.

As for SoS, it seems since it was clear they couldn’t win, they gave up the fight. I haven’t seen much in the past 2 days, but I dunno what’s happening on that server…

We’ve seen similar things early on in the game, when SBI went against servers with little to no oceanic coverage. Monday/Tuesday morning were a bad awakening for those servers, having lost about 20-30k points over night.

uhm. since I’m not ingame during the day, please don’t exert yourself too much running around and banging your head against doors.

Well, the commander features are solely tied to WvW.

If you get to see all squad members’ bars for example, then yes, I’d see that useful in PvE as well, but since you have no supplies in PvE, the current commander features are useless.

So for PvE use, they should buff the commanders’ features to make it more useful, and for WvW they should make it more of a “reward” or “achievement” related to the future use of it.

oh. sure. you’re basing this off 25% of all available maps. suuuuuure.

I usually don’t roll in EB, so I wouldn’t know what those commanders do. And in case you didn’t get the memo – which you obviously haven’t – we at Stike Force Industries don’t care about the tick.

All we care about is a good fight. That we get. We enjoy ourselves. If looking at the tick with sweat running down your cheeks is what you enjoy then sure, by all means, do that

I’ve know read that SBI is either done with and don’t have numbers and should be in <enter tier 2+> long ago and are a non-factor as well as causing a serious threat by 2v1’ing JQ.

I mean, it’s not difficult to get 100 badges per day, so we’re talking about what.. 2 weeks ? However, I fail to see the use in PvE, but that’s ok. I don;t need to know that

1. Remove all Commander Tags
2. Make Commander Tags achievable by paying 1000 Badges of Honor

That’d be something… dream Not that it’s difficult to get 1000 badges, but PvE heroes already complain about 500 for the Gift of Battle, so….

If you change the gate mechanics to NOT let you in while in downed state, no matter if Vengeance, Vapor, ..

I can see Eles needing vapor out in open combat, but the advantage [and abuse] i’ve seen from Eles defending towers and keeps, and ALWAYS being able to get back in and slowly rally themselves out of downed state in the safety of the tower/keep… no other class has that…

Then, too, Quickness will always allow you to stomp an enemy before any of these abilities become available….

I mean, come on. If that’s an issue, you’re doing it wrong, I’m sorry to say that. Even with popping upgrades on towers and keeps, the only time I actually NOT make money in WvW is when I’m popping siege. But that’s all part of it.

If all you do is run away from a fight and only kill Dolyaks then sure, it gets expensive when someone kills you all the time, but as I said. That’s doing it wrong…

Don’t forget about a room full of kittens in the BL’s jumping puzzles. They even have mini training dummies where the kittens learn to grow strong:

Yeah. I didn’t want to go into the specifics of when to repair and when not… But teaching people NOT to repair walls that are being trebbed but rather use the supplies to build an army of ballistae and arrow carts behind that wall….

I know – and said – that fortify will repair both. But i’m not sure about reinforcing walls/gates repairing the respective other part…

It’s the upgrades he’s referring to.

When “upgrading wall” finishes, all walls will be 100% repaired. Same with “upgrading gate” will “repair” the gate.

Lastly, “Fortify” will repair walls AND gate back to full.

Which is the reason you shouldn’t be wasting supplies into repairing when you see those upgrades about to finish. However, that’s a one-time event, until the tower/keep changes ownership.

Canon and Oil buildsites come up automatically, but need to be build by the player as well.

Other than that, there’s no AUTO-REPAIR.

Since SBI has guild ArenaNet on their side, it was time to point out how culling is affecting the game.

You mean Pickup Group [PuG] which has Izzy as a member ? I haven’t seen him in WvW for ages now and no, we as community on SBI don’t get any benefit from having some ANet employees on our server – despite what you think.

All those beatdowns we’re handing out are 100% legit.. As are the beatdowns we receive… haha

I can confirm that precursors do drop in WvW from both, NPC’s as well as enemies.

Dunno about the drop rate though.

we can promise you’ll never run out of targets to kill, have lootbags-a-plenty and usually no queue times

oh, and once you see the wells on the ground, move between them and anticipate a fear and keep the route your feard toon would take clear off those wells.
