Color me unimpressed. I’m skipping part 3 based on how the other parts went. I like Anet because of GW1, and this game has a lot to offer, but I feel bad that I invited people this weekend because of how the event has gone. This has been less than good.
I have to say that they should not have made a big deal about this event nor should they have made it the free trial period. That was a terrible event. You could elaborate on it quite a bit with the terrible items, worthless store items, poor communications, aweful execution and weak content. It’s vitual buffet of horrible.
What happened? GW1 had great items and excellent events. Practically the high water mark for any mmo. GW2 seems to not have heard of this “GW1” people keep talking about.
I like the game, but I’m saddened to see how little experience was carried over form the first GW.
“You have to consider the story element of dungeons too. You can’t remap that”
Very true, but we have two modes of dungeons as it is, Story or exploration. What if dungeons (in exploration mode)got randomized every couple of months?
“The dungeons in Diablo aren’t really compatable with GW2 dungeons anyways”
True, but nobody is saying to use those maps. The suggestion was to periodically randomize/remap the dungeons we have. That way it’s worth going back again since you don’t know what to expect. Everything about the dungeon’s leve stays the same, but the layout and creatures are changed up. Always fresh! =)
Please don’t stop working on camera angle isssues. I know there’s only so much that can be done, but when siege engins like arrow carts are used, the camera angle makes it almost impossible at times due to not being able to pull back far enough ar angle the camera better. The same goes for when your character is down and you need to port your character over a bit. The camera angle causes any little bump in the terrain to block the ability to target a nearby location. Basically, the camera is almost on the ground. Fighting game mechanics is not the same thing as game play.
COuld we get some choices for our cursor graphics to use in game? the gold color vanishes when you go to use it in combat. It works fine until you need it. Kind of an 08/13 (vague military history reference)problem.
I know that Anet does a lot of work to keep things interesting for players. I ha a thought after reading some player comments about the various dungeons.
In Diablo 2 the dungeons were randomly generated giving the game unlimited playability. Essentially, the game was infinite. This isn’t possible to do the same way in an mmo as in a stand alone game. What if the dungeons were randomly/semi randomly remapped on the server side every month or so? Could the dungeon maps be set up on some sort of map generator? If so, when the maps a re redone like this the patch notess would simply need to state that the dungeons have been remapped and have fun!
Well, I have joined the ranks of those who sold items but got no moneys. I’m hoping it shows up at some point, but that sucks tbh.
Well, I’m not seeing anything of value to me in the chests. I won’t buy keys for them if I can’t get anything fun from them.
This is a good question. I have a pile of these chests and I don’t think I want to open anymore. I just destroy the contents (read trash). I like this game, don’t get me wrong. However, the chests are useless unless they have something of value in them.
I’ve been playing for a couple of days now and I love it! I think the co-op play where you can help each other is fantastic. I like the random evens and really enjoyed defending the crossroads.
I’m still not sure about the store. I don’t like the idea of having to buy more storage or loot keys for real money. It sems like you should be able to get those through game play. I do like the cosmetic items. I love useless stuff so I’m sure I’ll be needing a top hat and some pets!
