Decided to buy out the t6 mats that are down in price due to all the SSC farming. From this point on I will be able to sell off drops of the completed mats to help fund the other parts.

Icy Runestones are going to be the last thing I get since that’s a fixed cost.

Another mesmer from SoR and I (HoD) were alternating porting people up the skipping stones jp last night in one of the Overflows for 30 minutes to an hour last night. We were both just having fun helping others out because that jp is pretty unforgiving. Then people started sending tips (no asking, no promises, people were just being nice). It was a pleasant surprise, and a reminder how nice the community can be. We had a little dance party going up top to kill time between ports. Good times were had by all. Tips were ranging from 50s to 2g. EVERYONE was very polite and thankful. It was so much fun just hanging out and helping people from various servers I wasn’t even a little disappointed I wasn’t getting to advance the southsun achievements or farm with the insane magic find buff.

Alternatively, this is an example of possibly potentially destroying one market (for awhile) in order to educate the masses, so they can take this lesson and apply it to other markets. True a bunch of people will see this, blindly invest in this one example, and all profit will be gone. When instead they should take the example, extract knowledge from it, and think of other things they might do with it. Also, in a few weeks after the surge has died down and everyone is thoroughly disgusted at losing gold by jumping on the bandwagon, they’ll stop investing in this. And then things will return to normal, and a nice profit will be able to be made again on this specific example.

Need a second opinion on this build. My current machine is getting very long in the tooth (6 years+). It’s still decent enough for gaming, but I’ve had to sacrifice quality and am getting noticeable performance issues, especially in GW2, so it’s time for an upgrade.

I’m hoping for this one to last about the same amount of time as my last build and still be decent. What I did with my last machine was use stock settings until the last year or so and then OC it a bit when I stared noticing that it’s a bit slow to buy a bit more time, so I’ll probably do similar here.

The Caviar Black & 660 Ti were recent upgrades last year, so they’ll be recycled on this build.

Does anyone see any red flags/things they’d recommend against using & suggested alternative? Removing the 2 parts that will be recycled this fits perfectly in line with my budget of ~$1000.

Taking my time on this. Just letting it come in its own time. Kinda looking at it like maybe by the time I’ve accumulated all the other ingredients I may get a lucky precursor drop, or ANet might have done something about making them less RNGey.

Or with my ridiculously miserly spending habits (thanks dad! ) I might have enough gold saved up to just buy the silly thing.

I’ve found this approach is keeping me from getting too obsessed/frustrated with the process. It’s definitely not the most efficient path to legendary, but I’m enjoying my time in Tyria much more than if I was actively grinding for it.

I also find myself having difficulties with the dodge-jump (for some reason I can’t make my left thumb hit V & Space at the same time).

My mouse has 2 side buttons that I personally use for weapon swap & I can’t remember off the top of my head what the other one is. However they’re so close together they could easily be pressed at the same time (I even accidentally did it several times when I first set up the bindings). If you mapped them to dodge & jump it seems like it would be easy to do & within the rules.

The winner up/loser down would not work. You would just have the first place server in each tier move up and get wrecked and the 3rd place server would move down and dominate.

My server made it’s way up to T2 and since then, because of the competition we have become much better over the weeks. This would not be possible if we were moving between getting beat and dominating every other week. You would get a lot of servers that would not have the chace to improve. The problem is that there are to many servers that are .5 better than the tier they are in. They are batter than the tier they are in but not good enough to move up. I don’t know what the solution is other than creating more servers and hope they fill up to fill the gaps.

I agree, there are a lot of tween-er servers. Not sure though that creating more servers would necessarily even fix it, unless ANet incentivizes populating those servers and in a way that evens everything out.

Adding more servers I could see as just adding empty servers to a tier 9+ or everyone would flock to them and they’d just bump everyone down.

I just don’t know that there is a good solution without forced repopulations, which I think would be terrible. It’s probable we’re stuck with what we have, and someone is always going to be stuck where they don’t want to be.

Just curious, but why is it, in all of the “woe is t8” threads, it is always stated SF is only in t8 because Kaineng had a big influx?

While it is partially true, it is also ignoring one huge fact. All Kaineng’s moving up did was create a vacant spot in t8. That same week Kaineng moved up the t7 matchup was:

1. GoM 1128.790
2. SF 1034.005
3. HoD 1010.194

So they had about a 24 point cushion on us. But we fought tooth and nail that week precisely to avoid the drop because we saw the blackhole that waited in t8. And what happened? We beat SF, finished second, and managed a 34 point ratings swing, pushing SF down to t8.

Kaineng’s transfers only created the empty space. HoD capitalized on the chance to avoid it, SF didn’t.

So if HoD beat SF and pushed them down, why is it always the claim that SF is so undeserving to be in t8 and it should be HoD stuck in the mire of t8? If SF didn’t want to be there, they should have beaten HoD when they had the chance and a cushion.

Edit: I would like to state, that I don’t agree that they should be permanently in t8, but no one should be imho. I would be really intrigued by the winner moves up, loser moves down methodology. It would at least create more dynamic matchups instead of the same thing every week for months on end.

I was in Crucible of Eternity fighting Bjarl. I was at the southeast pillar of the room (indicated by the red x on the screenshot). He laid down a red AoE circle at my feet so I used Phase Retreat (Staff #2) to get out of it. It teleported me backwards into behind this blue ice and into a little corner of the room.

I tried \stuck, every teleport skill (phase retreat, blink, illusionary leap/swap). I even tried mirror images since that sometimes moves me a short distance. I couldn’t get out and thanks to the change to dungeon waypoints I couldn’t wp out to help. We had gotten Bjarl down so low it wasn’t worth resetting him at that point.

The best part was if he came near me he could still hit me, but I was unable to retaliate! yay!

I went with the Syzygy celestial amulet. I’ve still got some green jewelry. I’ve found I can get by just fine solo in pve. I even solo roam in wvw without much trouble. IMHO stats are only important to a point. Eventually it’s about how you play not what you’re wearing. Besides with the celestial amulets you can get access to those yummy utility infusions (+gold/ +karma).

Number 3 is the biggest issue with this skill. The skill becomes absolutely useless in many areas simply because of the terrain. Please at least simply teleport/create a clone at the enemy’s location that we can swap to (and have the clone spawn at the appropriate time).

I’ve started to run into players who will simply strafe around on stairways and ramps in WvW because they know I can’t immobilize them there. In my opinion, this is getting into exploit territory, as players have learned to use this bug as an advantage vs. sword mesmers.

Exactly this. If due to technical limitations you can’t make the skill do what it says it does, then you need to change it to something you can do, spawn at target’s location.

I don’t imagine my company’s clients would appreciate it if we sold them our business intelligence software and when they installed it found out it only plays cat videos from YouTube because business intelligence is hard.

I’ve had something like this happen twice.

Once a few months back in Orr was doing an event where you go into the tunnels under the Cathedral of Radiance some Risen ran up on top of one of the tents and died, then some other risen came and destroyed the tent but the lootable corpes of the first set of risen stayed floating up in mid-air unreachable.

The second time was a couple days ago in Snowblind Fractal. We were fighting the Shaman and he did the teleport up on the ledge then died of bleed damage. And a CHEST dropped. We all tried for a few minutes to see if there was a way up there to no avail. It probably had Dusk in it, but I tell myself it was just a glob of gloppy goop so I don’t cry myself to sleep at night…

This was what I had been wondering. A few weeks back it looked to me like you and DH were going to switch places in short order, then both our tiers seemed to tighten up a bit; we pulled DH back down a bit and you guys looked to have gained some ground in your matchup as well.

Then this week started with you guys taking a big drop, so it kind of got me wondering.

At a loss as to what happened at our Garrison tonight. I was defending the NE gate which was still at 25% when first a couple of Hounds of Balthazar came “though” the gate to attack me and then a pile of DH just popped into view around me and all the while the gate was still at 25%

Another group of about 12 of us came in from the south behind you guys. I would imagine it was culling as to why you didn’t see us until we were on you. I really wish Anet would prioritize culling and fix it before anything else is done on this game.

This! Seriously! Several nights back in HoD borderlands some GoM were flipping the southeast supply camp, a handful of us (5 or 6) went to defend. As we run up it looks like there’s only a couple GoM so we go in to clean it up and then wham! 10-15 additional GoM render AFTER everyone but me and 1 other guy in our group is downed.

Then one of my personal favorites, go check on a camp to see if it’s still under Righteous Indignation, guess which npc doesn’t render…

What is otherwise an enjoyable matchup keeps getting tainted by this culling junk and it’s becoming less and less fun.

Btw… There’s this little Asura Mesmer from GoM that solo roams around the southern region of HoD borderlands each night. One mesmer to another: You, sir or ma’am, are a very skilled player and oh so frustrating to fight! I love it! Way to mesmer!

To the GoM thief that was capping Stargrove, and then we (the mesmer in blue) battled back and forth for what seemed like forever,

If Darkhaven gets more people, I expect them to move out of the tier. The matches were close two weeks ago and they’ve gotten people since.

QFT. Last week was awesome. This week, while still awesome, DH definitely has a bit more numbers from what I’ve seen. I’m still having a fun when I go in, but it doesn’t feel as balanced which I find to be unfortunate and not quite as fun as last week.

More numbers on DH will tip the scales a little more that direction, and I fear we might lose an excellent matchup in this tier eventually. Hopefully we can keep things close enough to keep this matchup going in the coming weeks, because this is the most fun I’ve had in WvW ever.

Unfotunately, I’m afraid even if we keep things close we may lose this matchup anyway due to the apparent defections in the top tiers and servers freefalling and disrupting our nice balance. But who knows, maybe if someone drops down here they might bring more fun. But I will still be sad to see this matchup go.

EDIT: GoM, please kindly relinquish Askalion Hills in your BL. I need it and the vista to 100% WvW. I swear I’ll give it back when I’m done… maybe…

Now I feel I am more usefull to my guild when we run together . @Mginn, to help me better can you provide alittle more information avout the situation you have condition problems, in the build there is some meassures to handle conditions, for example why I have a minimum reccomended hp. Is it in big group fights? Solo fights, wvwvw or sPvP? Roaming or siege etc.

Conditions is the most dangerous dmg to us kitten the acctive defenses dont cover applyed conditions, if you see my vids I cause of this often try cc, dazze and use immunitys early vs condition enemys. If you realy have to get a necro down you want to burst him early. Also when he rehit I get immunity 4 sec up, and keep a preassure. a portal out (long range juking) to reset mw and avoid condition help aswell.

Give a little info what situations that is worst and I see if I can help better. Best way to be strong is to now your weakness aswell as your strength and use that to have a overhand in a fight.

WvW. I’m on HoD, so we’re, more times than not, outmanned. Now that I think about it, it’s toughness/vit that I’m low on. I need to just bite the bullet and invest in a second set of armor for wvw instead of using my usual PvE gear. Or just replace my PvE gear. I’m too frugal in games I guess.

Question, how are you guys dealing with conditions with this build? I’ve been using it for about a week and the only thing that’s been causing me issues is invisible enemies that load in after I’m downed and heavy conditions. I’m having trouble finding a utility that’s expendable for some condition removal, but I’m stumped because I use all the utilities heavily.

This happens to me when I’m running with my weapon sheathed. Doing a weapon swap resumes the running animation.

Alternatively, draw your weapon before you blink and you won’t experience the slide (at least that’s always worked for me).

+1 sir. +1 indeed. I HATED that tower but was having so much fun at the same time. Then I figured it out and I still have a blast when I pop in to run it a couple times. It’s just so maddening. Perfect for the Mad King!

The Infinity Coil Commander appears to be bugged or something. We did all the steps to open the Crucible of Eternity and then the commander appeared and we started fighting him. After a few seconds he teleports to a different part of the area heals to 100% and says the “funny if you try” line. We run over damage him some more and after a few seconds he teleports, heals, and repeats the quote. This loop is happening indefinitely.

Experiencing the same issue on the Henge of Denravi borderlands. Both halves of the key and nothing happens when I try to unlock…

Akava, same thing on my female Mesmer in crafted Winged Armor. I hadn’t noticed this before last night but then most of the time the camera is behind the player.

I also don’t see this on the less revealing armors… I submitted an in-game bug report on it last night.

I completed Suspicious Activity (level 48) in Lion’s Arch at level 54 and selected the Vigorous Ring of the Knight as my reward.

However, the ring that was deposited in my inventory was a plain green level 46 Vigorous Ring with no upgrade at all.

While the ring presented in my reward choice was a decent upgrade over my current equipment, this ring has now become merchant fodder.

Any chance of getting the reward I actually chose?

In GW1 when depositing/withdrawing gold from account storage there was a MAX button that would deposit/withdraw the max you had or could hold.

It would be nice if this made a return in GW2 as it’s a bit annoying to have to type out the exact amount you want to move since if you type-o and go over what you have by even 1 copper it cancels out and doesn’t report an error or anything. The first time I did that I panicked for a moment because I thought the bank ate my gold.

This certainly isn’t a high priority suggestion, just one of those convenience things that I miss about GW1’s storage interface.
