As a member of FA, I fully admit that our server is full of chest thumping, bag boasting, and just rude individuals in general. I have never doubted it, or denied it, but merely accepted it as the consequence of a competitive mmo. I myself have tried (although not always successfully) to rise above it and be better than that.

With that in mind I have to say… please don’t stoop to their level TC. Take a look at the last half a page and tell me that isn’t the same stuff you accuse FA of doing (and in some cases rightfully so). I said the same thing in the FA community forums last week, and I’ll repeat it here. You guys can lose like champs, garnering the admiration of BG and KN, but to those you defeat you reveal your darker side. It’s what initially put off so many FA’ers to begin with—all those weeks of being dominated by you guys.

I want the forums to be as civil a place as possible, which is impossible in most cases. But please take a page out of your own books and rise above the noise and show the sportsmanship you have when your chips are down.

I went back and read my posts to be sure I didn’t say anything untoward. Are you upset by the map updates and scores? If so, I apologize.

I agree, the forums should be a civil place. I tend to go out of my way to add some levity to the threads because often times we’re far too serious, and sometimes grumpy.

I have some cohorts on Kain who help me with the levity, would love to have some FA folks join in too. (And some are, was happy to see that!) It should be a place where we all kick back after beating each other up and exchange some jokes.

That said, every server has trolls. It’s unfortunate, but you can’t tell people how to post. You can make a million pleas and suggestions, but in the end, it’s their decision. For the most part, I’d like to think the bulk of TC behaves respectfully.

That’s mostly the point I wanted to get across, that every server has its trolls. It is the unfortunate circumstance that FA is viewed in the light of it’s trolls, so when TC overtakes us, the forum becomes a round of TC backslapping (which I understand, you guys worked hard to get to second, and I commend you for it). It is the less savory posts that catch my attention, bringing to light the fact that every server has its dissidents. It saddens me somewhat because of the dislike towards FA, because of our trolls, that some TC posters can drop the usual levity and show an uglier side. All (and I would say most) of us on FA are not the same way, so while the target may be the usual trolls, the jabs hit all of us equally.

I will say that it is not directed at you Jayne, I don’t recall many of your posts that seem unusually biased in this way.

Anyways enough for me, I might need to find time to squeeze in some gaming to take back our precious borderlands! =D

I don’t understand all the FA posters saying that KN is winning because of PvD. For over two hours this morning we (FA) held WM and Meow from capping our garrison. It was some of the best WvW/FA performances I have seen, and it really discredits us few SEA timeslot players when you basically state that we don’t exist. Yes we are outnumbered, but discrediting KN’s advances while we are outnumbered discredits our own accomplishments when we are the ones heavy in population.

Any points achieved during FA downtime are hard fought, and us valiant few are here to make sure of that. The problem with this morning is that our defense ultimately cost us ppt. KN stayed in FABL to take garrison for hours, whereas if they capped the whole thing they would have left and allowed us to recoup our loses, which is what happened in TCBL.

I’m guessing there won’t be too many FA or TC people in here talking about what just happened in EB’s Blue Keep. That’s OK. We won’t tell anyone. It can be our secret.

Kain held the blue keep for 30 min to an hour just wiping TC and FA when they try to attack it. Every wall and door was pretty much down

It was pretty incredible to be honest. FA’s downfall was being leaderless and outmanned, a deadly combination in any scenario. Still, it was fun trying to counter your deathballs with our limited resources.

Ummm, so we transferred to TC like last week? People can do that you know. We thought FA was going to be fun, but its like a big server of people who just run around and focus on killing people instead of the meta game. TC is fun and more organized, but it is really bad at fights.

The funny thing is… I’m sure over 50% of FA would take this as a compliment =)

The FA/TC rivalry that started way back when wasn’t even a true rivalry. It was more like TC pushing us around any which way they desired because FA had yet to receive the glorious gift of IoJ awesomeness. Now that we are more evenly matched we get to start up the real war and fight it to the death =) This is just the warm-up round.

(That being said MOST of us here on FA are just in it for the spirit of competition, we don’t really hate TC, it’s just our history and the fact that they are the server closest to us in strength that makes it such a good matchup.)

Yeah that would be our NA being able to play midday because of the weekend. Should be a different story once the week gets going and everyone has to work.

The emoting trolls will be purged in the fires of T2! Because if there is one thing we have over here on FA… it’s a kitten load of fairweathers.

Otherwise, great matchup this week to DB and YB. I know your pop/coverage puts you at the disadvantage, but you guys still brought the fight. Good luck against TC!

I love the enthusiasm, but the logistics say this isn’t going to be a remote possibility unless 80% of FA stop logging in. Course as a Bender you should know that we just don’t pay attention to the scoreboard, especially in tiers above our weight class. This weekend will be good, we’ll punch back, then everyone will go back to work/school and our night crew will be facing the barbarian hordes once again.

Regardless we’ll still be out there taking swings. Just train yourself to ignore the scoreboard if you haven’t already. XD

I really wish Mag had this attitude. Would have made these matchups so much more enjoyable.

EnRohbi, your “theory” is only half right. For that timeslot on FA we have a huge coverage gap. BG and TC took heavy advantage of this in tier 2 and brought it to light. So what you are seeing is, without a sizeable guild/commander presence, our militia are getting discouraged and WvW’ing less during that time period—prefering to instead wait until FA has more numbers instead of fighting outmanned everyday and slowly losing territory.

This isn’t a knock against DB, but a weakness in FA that we are trying to improve on. And I can assure you our IoJ transfers are still out in force and have made a considerable difference in the performance and morale of FA overall.

Agreed IRSyKo. And Bones I’m sorry you feel that way, there’re some great people on the FA site. If I can offer some advice, just ignore the trolls. You’ll notice that the same people who come here proclaiming FA to be the gods of WvW never said a word last week and were the first to bail to PvE when we were down.

You know whats really embarassing that i saw on a daily basis? going to BL where we held keeps and it only having 3 siege built over the course of 3hours until we were either attacked and forced to build more or we got mawed over, and even when the keep became paper gates, we would have a hard time flipping it back because enemy server laid down 6-8siege on keep. FA was doing things like this all the time during its time in T2

This is extremely embarassing for a t2 server, Worst server i’ve ever been on, and i’ve been on a few.

Have you even been to the FA community website? The thoughts there echo your own sentiments exactly (albeit in a constructive, not negative, way). Ignore the FA forum warriors here, their opinions mean little to nothing. Real discussion happens on the servers website, where we know our place and are committed to improving for a shot at T2 again. The link is in Mif’s signature if you missed it.

I think FA is just falling for all the “you guys are the zergiest” troll bait because we’ve never been winning by enough to earn the title. I for one know that Mag and DB are awesome sports even in the face of an uphill battle.

If you check the map its actually DB that wiped CD to 0. Its just one vocal FA claiming it was us.
DB has done a big push tonight. We are on defence right now.

As a member of FA I’m a little disappointed in our server right now. Reducing our opponents to 0 ppt because of some forum posts are the exact same bully tactics used by TC that earned them so much of our scorn.

Yeah, I have tons of footage of horrible yak deaths lol. I have one of a group of 5-6 FA dancing on my corpse after killing me outside of NW tower in FABL. XD Not sure if that was you guys, since I thought it was a mixed group and not a single guild. If you see me and want to kill me do something unique! Use a cool finisher or something. Hold a vigil over my body.

I have some really nice footage of me giving out fireworks to DB players before being brutally slaughtered. and then they ran away shooting fireworks. So far, my favorite clip.

I was wondering if that was you! I saw the tag and tried to /cheer, but by the time I got it off you were already dead and I felt bad… thank you for the green fireworks though!

With the recent nerf I was afraid the Ranger forum would devolve into nothing but whiners and complainers, glad to see a post that is useful for a change. I prefer insightful tips/builds over complaints anyday.

As for myself I run Short/Long bows with the 20% cooldown reduction on Bows and Survival Skills, then slot Sharpening Stone and Quickening Zephyr as utility for some amazing burst, which also helps when I dip into WvW on occassion.
