flesh wurm is a great skill to escape. it just requires you to have more map awareness compared to other classes escape mechanics.
it’s an instant stunbreaking 1,2k range blink that doesn’t need to be aimed because you set it up before the fight.

If you cant escape with flesh wurm, you couldn’t have escaped with any other blink either. Depending on where you set it up, the enemy won’t even see you once you blinked because they dont have the line of sight to your new position. No other blink can do that because they all require line of sight to aim.

While classes with easy access to stealth can just escape with 5% HP, as a necro you have to be more aware about the fight and the map and calculate how low you can go with your HP, lifeforce and cooldowns before you reach the point of no return and have to escape.

So yes, there are better escape mechanics in the game (mainly stealth) but flesh wurm can be used as an escape mechanic and does a very decnt job at that.

EDIT:
oh and the things you can do with spectral walk… not essentialy and escape, but it’s a great unique mobility skill.
And its uses in combination with flesh worm can be huge.

I don’t really get the point in the recent change to flesh wurm.

I get why all other blinks got that change. Because it was frustrating to use a blink on a spot which you can’t blink at, resulting in loosing the cooldown. But this rarely applies to flesh wurm since it has more uses than only blinking.

You now can not place the worm on some spots anymore like on top of walls in WvW for example. You could not blink (necrotic traversal) there anyways, so why not allow us to still place the wurm on those spots? It is not only a blink skill but also functions as turret, and that function has been nerfed. While other ground targeted spells or things like engineer turrets can still hit on those spots.

I loved the alternative uses for wurm like negating fall damage or trickjumping (video) but all that isn’t possible anymore now which takes away from the unique kind of mobility necro had.

The few exploits in which flesh wurm could be used to get into enemy WvW towers could’ve been easily fixed by fixing the map itself, but seeing the use of this unique spell limited is very sad.

EDIT:
A big difference between flesh wurm and other blinks is also the aspect of preparation. You would put the wurm in a spot where maybe you couldn’t blink at right away but you place it in preparation to have an escape route.
e.g. you’re hiding in a WvW tower thats being captured by the enemy team. you find yourself in a 1v2 on top of the wall. You would place your wurm outside, about 1000 range away from the walls so you could just jump down, and blink to your wurm should you not be able to take the 2 foes on your own. Maybe you would pop your spectral walk first, jump down, blink, heal up, and spectral walk back. It might be an bad example but there are situations like this in which necro had a unique way of dealing with it.

No 'free camera' in first person!?

Hello!

I love the new camera update but there is one thing that’s bugging me about it:

While in first camera view, there is no free camera. Holding down the left mouse button and looking around behaves exactly like the right mouse button.
I would like to be able to walk into one direction, but still look around in other directions, just like you can do in third person view.

While this doesn’t matter for taking screenshots or normal world exploring, it doesn’t allow for cool camera movments for movie making, and i would still have to stick with using consumables for fake first person like before the patch.

Hello!

So this has been a big topic on the first 75% sale, and as far as i know it is allowed to have multiple accounts (please correct me if i’m wrong) to just get login rewards, sell them, and send the profit to your main account.

So i am just seriously considering to drop 100 bucks for 10 accounts so i will never have to worry about gold again.

Now in this case, the biggest question for me is: Would i be allowed to use a multi-client-launcher? Am i allowed to be logged into 2 of my accounts at the same time at all? Or would i have to manually login to each of my 10 accounts then every day?

I would really appreciate an official answer to this so much!

So i know the spectral return resets your position, hence why no falling dmg. Youre then tricking the game, to think you actualy started where the spectral return point is, rather than your actual jump, which would normaly be a not possible shadowstep. Right?

Does this only work if youre close to wurm?

Anyway it loks pretty amazing and fun to pose on those places as a necro.

In this video, the spectral walk is mainly used to gain more distance to get closer to the wurm before blinking. On some spots you can be like 300 units away from the wurm before blinking, on others you need to be closer to it.
I think resetting your position with spectral walk doesn’t do anything for tricking the game in that way as you described. I’m not completely sure about it but from my experience, only your relative position to the wurm is important.

So, the runes have been in the game for over one month now and the #6 bonus remain unchanged.

Can we please have an official statement if you are looking to nerf the runes like adding a cooldown on the #6 bonus?

I first thought that it’s probably a bug and you will add the cooldown in the next patch but now im starting to wonder if either you didn’t hear about this issue or if you actually not consider it to be a gamebreaking imbalance.

Did i put a ruby? my mistake.
Air is not ideal but in this build is better than centaur (thinking in trying 4air and 2 rubies)
I wouldnt use focus here neither as you will mess up the rotation. And oh sword block is what let you be so glassy. have to check tho.
please comment how your variant goes. im more interested in this build after today patch

@Nemesis: yeah, I was gladly surprised with your confusion damage on PVE. That’s what convinced me to try you build

So with this build you have 6s of swiftness on a 15s cooldown. take rune of the centaur for 12s of swiftness on a 15s cooldown and actually more effective power for the cost of the lightning strike from rune of air. if you REALLY dont want to take sword/focus, that would maybe be the better solution. also, sigil of accuracy is much better than ruby jewel.

However, i gave it a try as well and came up with this mix of my current (uncompleted) shatercat mist 2.0 trinkets and a set of rabid armor.
This will give permanent swiftness and a realistic amount of toughness to actually survive in wvw at all. i will maybe give it a try, once i have the gold to buy the runes.

as many people figured out already, 20/20/0/0/30 would make much more sense.

the other big issue i have with this build is mobility:
people will just run away from you or kite you and there is nothing you can do about it.
maybe it would work with superior runes of the air and sword/focus so you can force your enemy to stay in the fight.

and i would add at least some toughness… sure, the confusion prevents the enemy to burst you down but if they have some condition removal, you’re an easy target.

If it’s the look of the karma armor you want, you can always use a fine transmutation stone to transmute the karma armor to a common (white) armor piece. It will become account bound. You can then transfer it to your other character. If it’s the stat of the karma armor you want, there is nothing you can do.

So after buying some karma trinkets (soulbound on use) for my new alt (who isn’t even lvl80 YET), i decided to get some armor pieces as well. What i didn’t notice though, was that these are soulbound on aquire.
(why would they be different to trinkets in that regard anyways?)

I was just excited about my alt and started preparing her lv80 gear already… instead of saving those jugs of karma for her and just used them on my main to buy the gear.

So i’m now sitting on 4 soulbound armorpieces and can’t use them. (light armor on engineer) Absolutely ruined my day.
Anything we can do about it ANet?

[WvW] "EB jumping puzzle problem" solution

Since i’m not a serious WvW player, i can’t say if it really is a problem but i’ve seen many people complaining about:

- Doing JP doesnt contribute to the WvW fight (besides getting a few blueprints and badges)
- People who do JP take away WvW player spots and block the queue for people who want to fight for points

On the other side:

- I really really love that JP since it has PvP in it and it wouldnt fit anywhere but in WvW.
- I have to agree, that players who actually fight for points in WvW should have priority over those who come only for the JP.
- Im also sure, that the JP is a major source of blueprints for many players. Especially those who are not rich in gold or badges.

Since taking the JP out of WvW entirely (wich many people suggested) isn’t an option, i thought about this solution:

- When a player enters the JP, a countdown (of 10 minutes?) will start.
– If the player completes the puzzle within that time, he can normally portal or waypoint back into WvW. I think we can all agree, that that little amount of time is actually worth the blueprints and badges for the world.
– If the countdown runs out before the player completes the puzzle, their WvW spot gets closed and a new spot will open for a player who is queueing at that moment. The player has to queue for WvW again after completing the puzzle.
That way, people who just want to spend time in the JP (people like me and many others i know) and not contribute to WvW actively don’t block WvW progress.

I’m sure that doing this would take alot of time and redesigning things. So im not sure if it would be worth it since i dont know if its really a big issue on some servers at some times… However, i think that would be the best solution.

Discuss about if the JP causes problems and a solution is needed or not and if that would be an acceptable solution for everyone.
