So, PvP happened in a PvP zone?
SoS has a strong Oceanic presence, so this is not news.
We’ll see some pickup as Taiwan enters the battlefield
and some of the Aussies go to bed.
Lack of small-scale fighting in WvW. I miss stealther wars (bridges/docks) and roaming skirmish groups from DAoC.
If I have to just pick a single GW2 in-game WvW aspect, then I’ll go with the Mesmer Portal as I do not like Bypass Mechanics.
Anet hasn’t wanted WvW as an e-sport since they consider it more “casual”. That is what they are trying to adjust sPvP for. IMO the Keg brawl would be a better e-sport for GW2.
SoS – 9850
SoR – 8650
IoJ – 7112
SoS — IoJ — SoR would be a fun matchup if everyone brought their A game and didn’t suffer from transferitus at the time.
I tend to make 1g-2g per night in WvW which isn’t bad imo since I’m not farming mobs or gathering. This is also after buying siege and repairing. Plus I’m usually running as a Duo (sometimes 5 man supply team) with as little zerg work as I can bypass. Pick your fights better and learn when to get out of dodge.
I have around 1800 armor and I survive just fine against a Thief. If you’re getting dropped like a sack of bricks by one, then maybe you should rethink your class, spec, gear selection, etc…
The “Achievement” from doing this shouldn’t be because we were able to vaguely make out a jump and platform when the screen was blanketed with Norn and Charr. It’s not a hard puzzle, but it should be able to be instanced “Solo” so we don’t have to deal with other people as obstructions.
As for a Normal Mode this would in no way make it less of an Achievement since doing it in it’s current form would give you the Exotic reward and the other would give you whatever or no reward except the Achieve.
I myself am just tired of having to deal with HUGE character models making it harder to see landings or edges of jumps when I am being timed rather quickly to keep pace with completing it. I have plenty of gear and don’t care about the loot, but I would like to get the achievement.
Heh, I never saw much of a force for us on SoR last night, but I did have fun running a lot of Hit-N-Run attacks on SoS Supply Camps, Sentries, and a Tower here or there. Lost a couple Towers due to CD AJ’ing us right as we dropped the door. =)
Heh, SoS has been the Bull in the china shop tonight. It felt like I was always in a 2v1 or 3v1 at all times. Off to find some breakfast and come back for a bit in hopes of more SoR showing up.
So far all I’ve seen is SoR vs YB with GoM coming in to AJ us instead of taking other points to improve their place.
1) Repair costs per death in WvW is just plain out of hand. Yes, I know we should strive to stay alive, but when a couple dozen people decide it’s your time to go, then you’re gone usually. We simply don’t make enough coin to warrant defending the majority of the time.
My “Fix”: If killed by another player or Siege Equipment then you do not take damage to your armor and therefore do not incur a repair fee. If you get killed my a NPC mob or the Envrionment in General, then it’s business as usual and you get to pay a repair bill.
2) Loot Bags while an interesting concept are just not practical. Yes, I know in beta it was said you couldn’t just put loot into our bag, but I think the time is now that you work harder at making that very thing happen. WvW is just too fast paced for us to be able to just loot corpses and bags while trying to continue transitions within the WvW world.
My “Fix”: Make it a Gem Shop perk if you have to. I know that many people would love to avoid in PvE and WvW having to loot corpses/bags. Sell a Vanity Pet, item to imbue a Vanity Pet, or something similar that has the ability to loot for you while it is active. Games have had these types of additions for years and if titles like Dungeon Runners, Aion, Flyff, and Eden Eternal to name a few can do this, then I fully have faith that a company with your finances and backing can handle it as well.
