On par with the best mesmer i’ve seen playing (from team paradigm).
Hope i’ll be up there with you some day
Why in hell would you fellow mesmer want to have the iBerserker ability to bypass los to be nerfed..
Every class has a way to effectivly damage weapon siege or people standing on a wall or behind a door, mostly due to powerful large range aoe effect, and now everyone agree to nerf our one and only ability to do so effectivly.
Hiding behind a rock? every class could hit you again mostly with big aoe, pets etc, or if hiding themself could have ways to avoid los(again big aoe, pets etc), try to retaliate with iberserker to see a out of los red sentence appear on your screen?
I don’t even understand how could this make sense to some of you…
I answered this in the previous post Lamefox.
So might be a bug in the combat log or a bug due to the numbers of target, sure thing imo is that a well build warrior got the stars aligned, thanks for the clues guys.
Anyway, i’ll sure watchout for those nasty flying blades in the future.
It was yesterday.
As for the combat log bug, i can assure you it felt very real on the receiving side of the blade.
In fact it’s the first time ever where i find myself downed instantly in WvW, that’s why i noticed.
Nope, just went out of the castle fresh and dandy, he could have had 25 stack of might though.
But yeah, high numbers indeed.
not sure about this massive strike, i’m unable to find it in the wiki, the thing is there was a massive zerg going around and clipping played a big part in this harsh ganking i’m sure, but the numbers were so high i couldn’t believe it.

Holy cow, frenzy bullrush 100b is a thing but 28k from a bladetrail !
Brb rerolling
Edit: yep thinking about the situation there was probably 2 waiting around the corner of a wall, didn’t even saw them and got double bladetrailed, wouldn’t wish that to anyone

Hey guys, i’m asking to you because this really amazed me,
Here is the situation, i have almost 25k hp with around 1k1 toughness on my mesmer, running around in WvW, when suddenly…OS.
So i was wondering since even a balista+trebuchet wouldn’t deal 25k damage, watching my combatlog i see:
16102 damage by bladetrail
11801 damage by bladetrail
So the question, is it common to see such numbers on warriors build full dps with berserker?
Lancelame is Bladetrail in french :
So after october 1st patch, 1 hour and a half off intensive WvW fight with NO CRASH !
what can i say…. thank you Anet tech team <3
Sorry for double post, edit button is gone, i tried Icizzle, got a crash in the same way, thanks for the suggestion tho, any ideas are welcome.
So yep, no change whatsoever with new nvidia beta driver…
I think Marstar made a good point, it’s a 176 hour match.
Some have the population or extreme organization to sustain this, some don’t, fair enough.
Bur what i see as a trend in this post is people pulling numbers out of thin air stating 100 vs 10, 5% earn 95% blablah.
Only anet knows exactly how much player there is at any given time on the field, and another very important number imo would be to know the ratio of the pve population of a server actually queuing in WvW, which could tell if there is really imbalance problem in the ranking system as to which server is opposed to which, or that simply some server have a more WvW oriented population than others.
My guess is that it’s probably a mix of both right know, but my point is that only anet knows this exactly, so it’s in their hands to fix it according to those numbers, not to player to elevate guesses into facts and start building theories on it.
i did install it but didn’t have the opportunity to play yet, will tell tomorrow if it’s any better for me.
I managed to play almost two weeks with low texture settings without a single crash except for one after 8+ hours of wvw which was ok, then suddenly 3 days ago crash reappears as the first days without me touching anything.
I’m totally lost on this issue and back to constant crash again…
Edit from the 25th patch : • Fixed various crash bugs.
Guess it didn’t go well somehow

Could we stop this NA vs Oceanic vs EU bs, i think everyone got that the game is global by now (well almost everyone).
Let’s start discussing some good addition to the game instead.
So, region lock: limited access to the game is not a solution imo.
the more pve stuff
Buffing npc to the defender number: bad, people would immediatly rely on this to have low pc defense. doesn’t take into account a 2v1 situation
buffing npc to general population ratio: hard to balance, anyway buffing npc to the point that they can hold a zerg is not fun.
score fix:
Slower tic: doesn’t change anything
Score by pk: encourage low tactics and zerg vs zerg
change function of the time: possibly the worst solution people came up with, i’m not even going to state why
Change in population ratio: impossible to balance given that people come and go, doesn’t take into account a 2v1
Now to the good stuff imo:
Added limited high defense option to defender: good, can benefit to everyone, can come in various ways (thanks to Sharpclaw, no quote)
Better reward while defending/losing: good, benefits to everyone. (by Mr JP)
“Safe” acces to a tower/supply from borderlands: good, benefits to everyone (Mr JP)
Come on guys, i know you can do it
(edited by romsea.8539)
But in the end, all this fuss is people facing more organized team (yes, time coverage is organization) and wanting the game to be fixed in their way instead of them having to match those team to compete, am i right?
Partially. But there are certain degrees to which this is not feasible due to composition of groups, etc. Thus, a small balancing function or defensive option ought to be open to defenders. You just make it limiting. Either by the number of keeps/towers you can have defended in such a way or the relative cost, strength, and/or length of the purchased buff.
With this i can agree, some good thought that can lead to something, finally
This along with the incentive to play while losing, and the ability to get out safely of borderlands even outnumbered and i think we’re up to something good.
Edit: providing those limited “heavy defense” option to every server of course.

You can turn it the way you want, the game is actually rewarding every player the same, if you don’t want your upgraded keep to be taken when you log off, you have all the tools in front of you to do so. Be it big international guilds or alliance with the other losing side or simply switch to a server with a good night crew if it’s that important to you, all that i see asked is that the game hands it to you with no effort on your part (except for a few well constructed post).

I totally agree on the incentive to play while losing, and the ability to safely go out of borderlands without being spawn camped.
While incentive should be easy to find, the borderland camping part should be more difficult to achieve, maybe giving each border heavy npc patrol to the first tower/supply, giving an easy objective to outnumbered forces to reach and defend?
Anyway, winning keep people up and fighting, as soon as you loose it’s common place to see people slowly disappear, afking in a safe spot or even in front of an ennemy bus doing nothing but waiting for the inevitable.
It’s obviously part of the problem as steamroll often start fairly early for it to be called capping while everyone is sleeping.

But Markan, Anet stated repeatedly that wvw is meant to be 24/7, and we all knew that server could be accessed worldwide from the start, so your “number 2” solution is already in place since launch…
The tag in front of them is to indicate where the central is, or which main language would be spoken,no more no less…
Ah well i guess i said what i felt had to be said, i’m done with this
(edited by romsea.8539)
Well as i’ve stated in other post i don’t feel there is a problem that player couldn’t handle themself.
Except maybe for free realm transfer that gives, in the wvw scenario, an easy solution versus having to organize a full time coverage or some “night” raid
Ah yes, also forgot to say that canadian population on VS is very small.
Edit: there are, but most of them are small groups being part of big organised guilds.
(edited by romsea.8539)
Your vision of top server match up is totally wrong, we do have a lot of outnumbered fight to deal with even as a leading realm.
You make no sense at all, you’re asking for a fix in score for underpopulated server stating in the same post that population imbalance is not the problem, as for IKShadow, holding points is the core of wvw, you will have to fight for it at some point, not sure what you’re asking for
Ok so having played around the clock on VS, i’ll try to give some insight on what’s happening from our point of view.
First off all i want to clarify one thing, we do not have any queue time past 1 am CEST, we may still outnumber a bit other servers between 3 to 6 am, but i do see small harass group and even good 20+ trying to cap points at those times. Mostly, what i feel the problem is, is PU leading.
Usually we have very strong PU lead during evening, at night and in the morning, while i see other server apparently motivated zerg at those time suddenly spread and run in fear as we try to stop them, ending attacking heavily defended keeps with 10 unorganized people here and there.
In the afternoon though, the opposite happens, the unorganised ennemy zerg suddenly appears with greater determination, focus on one tower without spreading and poping multiple siege engine to achieve their goals (mostly FS though), while small groups harass us.
At this time we have no strong PU lead, but instead a few people shouting at each other and trying desperatly to defend our territory, while our attacking people run like headless chickens here and there and we start loosing ground.
I’m not saying that there is no imbalance of population at any given time, but you people should also consider that there is many other factor involved in winning/loosing ground.
As soon as our PU leads shows up usually around 9 pm, we proceed to retake every thing we’ve lost, and let me tell you that this no pve and undefended towers at all.
All in all, i really wish that Anets gets to publish servers time coverage, i’m gessing that population imbalance in the top tier bracket is way less than people here are implying, and that losing accounts for a lot more than that…

Exactly, i mean, this is getting ridiculous.
Blame your server for bad pvpers, bad tactics or presence, you can either change instantly for free or praise other server for bettering those aspect and deal with it. But no, instead some choose to whine hard about time zone, server accessibilty worldwide or player that play during night time (omg how dare they play while I am sleeping !), asking the game to be nerfed or even shut down. How much of an entitlement and selfish way of thinking those player have is totally beyond me.

Hey guys,
Just to let you know what solved it to me, after trying various fixes discussed there, i had my game running in windowed mode (full screen), limited to 60 fps; texture to medium and everything else set to high (auto detect settings).
I still had constant porting and wvw crash.
At that point i just changed my texture to low (so everything else remaining high) and there it was, hours of uninterrupted pve followed by a crazy night of wvw for almost 7 hours) with no crah at all. Game looks still ok with those settings.
Unless there was a fix in game update (but i havn’t seen any) i suspect the texture option and only this one, to be the cause of my crashes.
Hope it will help someone.
Edit: to clarify a bit, i did a fresh install of latest nvidia beta drivers, motherboard drivers, tryed to run the game all low but game looked too bad to my taste so i didn’t push to see if it’d crash, went back to windowed auto detect settings but tryed to allocate more ram to it with the windows 3gb thing, didn’t work so i just cancelled it, then texture option -_-’

There are some cases of course where someone’s drivers haven’t been updated since 2008
That would be me =)
I do know that my bios driver are old, but i didn’t change my hardware since then, my system is pretty stable and all other dirvers are up to date.
I do also run recent games (like rift or skyrim for exemple) with very high graphic settings with no issue.
If someone more computer savvy than me could tell me what are the odds that my bios driver is to blame for gw2 crashes, i’d appreciate it. (i don’t like touching bios when everything works fine )
Hey all,
same problem here, 32bit system and nvidia gtx card, getting random crash in pve once in a while and immediat crash as soon as i enter a big battle in WvW. Although, don’t know if it’s worth to mention but i have very few crash in sPvP, i can play it hours on end with the same graphical settings, here are my logs :
