Thx for this week guys, was a pretty fun match up, especially in prime.
Kodash had surprisingly good server wide organisation for PPT and some good night multimap blobing. I, for one didn’t saw you coming with this, gratz.
Riverside, well not so much organisation PPT wise but incredibly tough field fighters.
Props to Scnd, best guild around imo, group tactic and mouvement, individual skill, everything is top notch. Gear well not so tough but i’ve seen some pretty good things from you guys too!
A fair warning to future opponents you may have: if you see one, be carefull, if you see both running in blob, run the hell out of range

Yep, that was exactly my point, organisation to counter sfr, not all magically happen by coverage. So we can at least agree on that. And as i edited, no queue on sfr after the first w-e (though i find it hard to believe but admitedly) could be explained by low morale (due to a internal drama, some guilds or lead leaving, pugs hunting for achievement ruining sfr strategy etc…) bunch of reasons that are their internal problems and doesn’t relate to our server situation.
And also for sfr ticking at 120, let’s not forget Piken, that have done a pretty good job at keeping them at bay too !

Though, to come back to this week match up, i give you that this one is much more based on basic coverage, we can rely much more if not totally on off prime ppt (even if we don’t, i think we honestly do our best in prime with a turnover of maybe less experienced commander).
At least we can have some guild raids out and have some drama with both of u guys <3

I see your point but where you’re mistaken is in thinking that it’s totally uncontroled by anyone.
What i mean by that is that xaoc at that time was on BT specifically to hit hard off prime (though it didn’t required anykind of special organisation for them as it was their “natural” raid time, as you mentionned) but viz was not prepared to counter those or didn’t have sufficient motivation to do so, hence those spikes.
Viz last week was fully organised to specifically counter those off prime raid. And on this subject you’re also conveniently forgetting that those hours (around 5 am) were supposed to be the strongest time of sfr (or do i have to quote wemil on that).
You are right though when talking about 3oclock am spikes, where it was supposed to be “our” off prime coverage.
But let’s be honest here, in the context of the league, all t1 server are pretty much queued on 4 maps 24 hours a day, or at least they were last week. so again, a moot point imo.

And in the context of 24/7 coverage as you also mention assuming imbalance between pop, you sure have a point but it doesn’t quite fit for 24/7 equal population. I’d go further in saying that assuming 24/7 equal coverage for all server it all boils down to coordination or eventually lowering ennemy morale by ruining their day in open field in order to regain a coverage edge. What i believe considering sfr ticking at 120 is the latter, low morale

What but of course we talk about coordination just to feel better about ourselve. We have more coverage so it’s obvious that top tier server can’t organise anything in term of off prime ppt, they are a bunch of headless chickens anyways.
Scout are indeed useless because wvw tactics is “orange cross attack the opposite” ! Roaming aiming for supply; stealth tower capping ; 30 man group making an orange cross to cover another stealthed 30 man group or a zerg making a cross on one objective to immediatly stealth cap another never happen…. at anytime, everyone in his right mind knows this.

Multimap coordination? oh man, pure luck we just happen to moove some people from map to map randomly, we never plan to push kitten a map to relieve another map under heavy pressure. reacting accordingly is meaningless and doesn’t contribute in victory in anyway…because you know, coverage !

Oh and sfr ah, they couldn’t do anything because we were stacked, i mean we got full zone zerg ready with prime commanders (you know, those with over 1k5 wvw levels) ready to lead to counter their force at 5 o’clock in the morning by pure luck and reinforcement to maintain early morning pressure thanks to coverage, and this all week long! isn’t it beautifull?

To SFR: you did well despite internal drama (as i heard) and in front of two good server obviously not liking you, and proove one more time that you’re a force to be reckoned.

To Piken: impressive presence and strategy that (i think it’s safe to say right now) secured you 3 points for the start of the league. congratz on that

To Viz: well, what to say, it’s been a blast to witness one more time the ugly beast awoken, craving for enemy’s blood. And to all the vizunians crying before league even started that viz was gonna crumble under pressure, this is the real face of Viz, so next time, less talking more pewpewing !

Thx Aelen, it’s a real relief to read post like yours, i’ve been here myself from time to time trying to defend Viz against those guys, seeing that their hate was spredding amongst others like venom.
Thankfully, they treated every individual and server the same way they treated us, so in the end it all splashed back on them. I’m sure they won’t change behaviour but at least they can learn that they fed up pretty much everybody with this attitude.

PS: i’m not, nor everyone in viz i hope, taking those guys for the whole sfr community, and i sure can take some friendly taunting, i’m talking about the real haters who well…gonna hate i guess

Fight is pretty tight, lots of fun to be had on the field regardless of skill delay and oh so long queues. Some insane battles already for me this early morning between bay and garri on sfr bl : 5 o’clock full zone blob viz vs sfr followed by garri 3 way madness was epic

Edit : btw concerning the double teaming on garri, first push we did piken took our spawn tower so we had to back, second push it was a proper 1v1 with great defense from sfr part and third time was a double attack indeed, stop the propaganda :p

It doesn’t. We came up with the same conclusion in my server. Insignificant impact on fights, almost impossible to maintain 3 stacks, marginal increase in points. It’s nontheless a fun mechanich that give an immediate objective to roamers, a pretty nice terrain to fight in and possibly put siege.

awesome night in EB, indeed one off the funniest night i had in wvw. I could almost feel the good atmosphere and the fun from each server from behind my screen. props to kodash and ag, was nice and refreshing fighting you guys.
Big up to TUP and FIRE, very good guilds, and also very impressive blob (should i say starcruser ) from AG in eb tonight (though if you aim for points, make it multimap next time), keep it up guys and you’ll climb the ladder in no time.

I’d gladly believe that AG is not into the PPT thing but this “excuse” is getting old.
Vizu fight for points and mastered multimap coverage, off time massive raid to maximize PPT, no big news here. But every other server, while loosing, claims as loud as they can that nobody gives a kitten about points, then you’ll witness those same servers give all they got as soon as they see a possible victory.
Forum warriors will then procede to flood M-U thread to tell everyone how good they are.
You’ll also notice massive migration to the current #1server. Something is obvioulsy off here.
Again i’m not accusing AG here as i really think some server play mostly for fun. But most of those who claims this are just drawn in pure hypocrisy imho.

Congratz to piken for taking #3 EU, you guys deserved it.

i’m not, i’m actually enjoying this week more than others, because you made us finally move ( which didn’t happen since new ladder), and also because of the small verbal skirmish going on between sfr and vs, but hey, i think you guessed already.

So now people somehow think we “lose pride” or hate our server because of griefing some poorly organised encounter on a 100% pvp map?
What a joke guys man up, what did you expect, unicorns and rainbows?

Now then talking about server pride, imagine thousand of americans players belonging to a big alliance taunting you big time, mass transfering to your ennemy server specifically to kick your kitten at night, 100’s of them camping spawn dancing and laughing all night long in EB during the reset.
And then witness your server going nuts : community posting RP everywhere, individuals litterally giving their IRL and sanity to the server, insane mobilization 24/7 and… winning the matchup against all odds.
this story alone is more server pride than you will ever achieve. that was against deso..
I could go on and talk to you about FSP, Arborstone, BT, Elona.. oh and yes SFR too my bad, i forgot…
Lots of server came to kick our kitten out of t1, sometimes with turnover of russian/EU/US guilds with the same goal. We’ve seen it all guys, and we’re still here laughing hard at you when we launch a one night raid that destroy all your hopes for a win and proceed to cry on forums that “omg you’re bad, omg a game with a score and a ladder, what is this nonsense”.

Anyway, funny week as always with you sfr (particularly true with the forum war going on), can’t deny that, see you next time

I’m growing sick of this never ending trash talk about vizunah, i don’t post anymore but being called walking bags by riverside is too much of a joke really.

i play since beta and have been on vizunah at release. I know for a fact that there are a lot of very good player in there, of course there is also new comers and some not so good player like everywhere else.

Thus i’m gonna call arenanet on this.
It’d be cool to have some kind of sumary of the week with interesting stat such as number of tower fliped, number of upgrades, number of siege built on top of mind and yes…total kill by server.
I’d bet my right hand that the winning side is almost always first in term of kills…

To all of you dear haters,
You all have been here with the admitted goal of breaking Viz ,kick this server out of t1 or whatever. And look at you now, insulting in forums or fighting the good fight in t7.

You don’t want to play with viz, fine, we surely won’t be crying in shame because some foreign guy keep belittling a whole server in endless moaning of blobing, lagging, nightcapping, unemployed nolifers, mixing everything with GC’s big guild organization to upleveled pugs running like headless chicken in EB. Yummy tears we’ve already seen a few times.
Simple reality is that yet another server claiming n°1 spot has fallen, not VS.

Like it or not, it’s not the pug that destroy a server, it’s big guild claiming to build a strong and durable community where in fact they are here only for acknowledgement and/or leave for whatever reason as soon as they please. Pretty much the exact same way Ruin did back then.

Wanna blame VS because they go in turtle mode when times are hard and suddenly run wild as soon as they feel the pressure going down, or for the way they fight, go ahead, spill all your hate.

But you can’t blame us for your inability to build something strong 24/7, server wide, in a long term scale.
Maybe with something close to this, deso could have hope for a win or sfr could have lasted more than a few month, and hell even try to serenely organize gvg tourney in a game mode not intended for this.
Not because almighty “insert guild name” demands gvg or fair fight when it suit them, independently to scoring actual matchup points, in an attempt of some sort of recognition, while viz’s guilds goal is mainly to maintain management and cohesion for the whole server to win the matchup as often as possible.
It may not be worst explaining this here, but I tried at least.

What with all the vizu hate.
Rabbits and dolyak killing VS players, kitten so much truth going on here.
Failing to do anything with our zerg and now almighty arborstone woke up… yet we managed to overcome a 5k+ lead due to heavy nightcap and took the second place again starting from scratch.
Trying to troll is fine but at least try some quality ones, even ruin does a better job at that than you guys.
Or you could even stop spaming your screenshot key, grow up, play the game and post constructivly. Might be too much to ask though.

Hmm i see, don’t be mad, repair cost isn’t that high.

It’s been now 3 weeks we’re fighting BT and i think i can safely say that every server involved in this fight (hell, even desolation with ruin) played the game fair.
Except maybe for some spy and some false Ruin commander trying to lead french people in english, nothing too dirty to speak about.
There’s absolutely no reason to blame a server, even more a guild.

Edit: and also i’d like to point out that there are griefers in every server, at the beginning of the week we had someone throwing 8 golems from a cliff on VS borderland. He might be a spy or he might aswell be a PU bored out of his mind. no one will ever know and there is absoluetly no need to name and shame for that.
We will hide them better next time though :P

Really i want to thank all vizunians for their effort, i played last night till around 2 or 3 am only to see that the morning crew took over the work done in the night to build a good gap for second place.

I have to admit that it’s getting harder lately for us vizunians to directly face zerg vs zerg.
Funnily enough, i remember us having a discussion about roaming and stating it was less rewarding because we always fought BT “roaming” wich is mainly made by heavy zerg on their way to taking towers or keeps.
So yep, talking about small scale fight…
That being said, i do feel that we lose a lot of 20v20 ~ 30v30 fight against BT.
An explanation to this as it has been said is mainly because our zerg is composed by 10 to 15 guilds with each time different players and different commanders, more or less experencied, meanwhile BT zerg consist in mainly 1 to 4 guild max (always the same, not going to name each one, we all know them) , often with full food buff, good group comp etc
We have very few of those inVS but we still manage to pull our weight in term of score.
I’d like to see yours if the role were reversed.
Anyway, we won’t go to tier 2 this week guys, definitly not

I, for one, like a lot this system. Having to make a choice between beating downed player to death, interrupting others trying to rez, or finishing players while being surrounded by porting or good timing of defensive ability is indeed skill.
Don’t act like you speak for the whole wvw community.

There is no need for another token system. If anything, Anet can just implement new WvW specific reward with karma or already existing ones. Commander role should not be aquired easily by anyone, and i already think 100 gold is not enough, as it should rely on heavy community effort or consensus to get one.

WvW kills are irrelevent. It heavily depends on what class and build you play. A BS thief or mesmer that lacks aoe won’t get twice as much as a staff ele randomly aoeing zerg or walls. It doesn’t mean that they are less of a threat nor that they should be penalized in obtaining ranks or rewards.

I agree though on the PvE aspect of WvW, having PvE gear is fine but keeping abilitys untouched that are being nerfed for s or tPvP, is a bit weird. Although i think there are more pressing issue such as culling, orb system, undermanned buff to work on (just to name a few ^-^)

So you took a video with 4 player having one of the most annoying downstate in the game against one to prove your point, i’ll give it a go then.

Talking about skill cap, daze and bump interrupt rez, you have an aoe daze and a bump, not saying that it’s easy in the heat of the fight, but look closely at this same video and see for yourself if you couldn’t have done better…

As for the “opportunity” of tonight, it has been a close call, as we have a lot of dedicated 3w player on hold right now, partly because of the 2 weeks we had and also because of the last 2 days lag spike.
I think the one that were in just stayed very late and quikly organized to our classical night moving zerg seeing there was something to be done.
Anyway, was a good night for us, reminds me of the good old days of PvD :’)

… and i would add that we already told you so 2 month ago.
Nobody believed us though.
I guess the server has a pretty good organisation for that time (or others had a very bad one, who knows ^^)

Funny story, we had american players coming to VS to warn us from their arrival as they moved to the EU bracket, a few even stayed to fight with us to help during the night and give advice coming straight from TA experience (i won’t go in detail about what they were saying …clean post all the way :p).
I guess they should have done the same for our fellow EU deso players.

RUIN has been more than happy to contribute in breaking the Vizunah “monopoly” on tier one in the hopes of allowing other international communities and language servers to have a more competitive environment.

Ruin doesn’t “allow” anything especially not to other servers, you are deso night crew and performing well against low to no opposition.
Now you have a real t1 opponent to fight against, let’s see how it’ll goes.

You’re the one which seems to be making excuse with that and wanting to congratulate yourself for being fixated by such a ridiculously OP opponent, since it is a known fact and can be seen in every french forum that this alliance has never been a long one, and PA players don’t mix at all with VS ones (it always ends up in fights). That can be seen on the french forum here, but also JoL (I’m a nice person so here’s the link) and a lot of other community forums…

So nice of you to be accusing others of fictive things when they’re just playing the game of 1vs1vs1. Look at your map sometimes you’ll see more than once VS engaging Deso and PA inc-ing VS from behind, VS players hunting PA and tagging their positions, …

At this rate and with this kind of time coverage, you will surely climb up to the top sooner or later.
I guess at least we can be proud that it needs almost 4 continents united in one server to compete with us in an all out week (exagerating a bit but hey :p).
