I really like your guild village/castle idea. These kinds of camps already exist all over the map!
The scarlet invasions did a great job at stimulating living world play. It worked because it focused all players into a single map for about 1 hour, and it gave players a good reason to go to that map.
This idea can be extended to any map. A zone is randomly chosen from the living world. Players receive a message of something like “The citizens of Tyria need help in _________ please lend them a hand” a 45 minute event then starts in that zone (sound familiar?) events that already exist in that zone will give better rewards (more money/karma) The 45 minute event counts each event completed on that map. If the players on that map manage to complete a certain number of events then they all are rewarded with a bonus chest or something.
think this would work?
For axe 1 just increase the damage of the first hit and have it decrease in damage with each bounce, if all 3 hit it would be the same damage as it is currently but the first hit being stronger will alleviate 1v1 situations.
Rangers should totally get Hammers, I’m actually surprised they gave us GS instead of hammers. Thumper rangers (hammer rangers) were popular in GW1 .
Sword is best DPS from what i’ve seen. Bring a devourer or spider in dungeons. Chances are you’l be kicked if you show up using a longbow and a bear
I literally had never heard of wvw queues before they started talking about the new map… Sometimes playing on Fergusson’s Crossing has its advantages
Queues are there to ensure the game is playable and not a lag fest (although it sometimes happens, rarely on FC)
If queues bother you that much then transfer to a low pop server, WvW is still exciting and challenging in lower tiers and everything you do is THAT much more important (there is no horde of guys behind u to carry kittens)
Do you remember when the game is started and the areas had a lot of player? I want it back!

So the Scarlet invasions did a great job of bringing in tons of players to otherwise dead areas. By featuring a single map for an hour you can draw tons of players in with the promise of increased rewards.
So for each hour a random map is highlighted, and all of the events in that zone provide increased rewards upon completion. Something like double gold and karma or a free champion loot bag.
This would gather players together into a single zone and provide rewards comparable to a champion train farm. ANet also wouldn’t have to add any content to the game, just make old content temporarily more rewarding to draw in players.
Thoughts?
