can’t decide. ab and TD are fine but i think i like the END fight of DS best. although it sometimes takes too long on the towers

all pretty similair (and not too rewarding lol)

Verdant Brink i think. its the first time you get tinto the mess of the jungle and you have no dang clue where to go lol

Auric Basin, but its personal favorite.

Maybe a crazy little idea for elementalist: a specialisation that works with no weapons.

With your bare hands, you manipulate the very forces of reality not unlike a ..uhm.. certain monastic order of sci-fi monks from a popular franchise. Wield skills that let you lift an enemy in the air and throw them away like a rag doll. Or choke them from a distance. Or just persuade them that you’re not the elementalist they’re looking for. (Caution: only works on the weak-minded). Stop projectiles in mid-air with a wave of your hand, then throw them back. Make environmental bundles fly into your hand.

focus main/offhand might be a choice as you could use a weapon design like
The Anomaly
Arcanus Obscurus
Bloodseeker
Chimeric Prism Focus
.. etc

What i would find interesting for mesmer would be having one constantly active illustion (similair to rangers pets perhaps?) either a bit more tanky (thus keeping annoying HoT mobs off you) or more of a direct damage illusion. neither shatters with the rest, instead staying until its been slain

in addition to it i’d wish for a new mainhand weapon (pistol? maybe focus even?) that focuses more on direct dmg

but i guess you can still make it look like ice if you pick some crystal-ish armor and give it some nice blue colours^^

Eeeendless posibilities with white you can add every colour to it~
If you wanna keep the fire you could go more into Orange/ red
If you want a more" cold, mysterious" “I’m a Angel of death” look then chose white/ blue/ golden

Or depending on your class maybe?
Guardian: blue and gold/ silver
Warrior: anything going into bright red
Rev: red or blue – darker colours
Ranger: green and light browns to yellow
Engi: warm tones: brown, yellow to red.
Thief: anything with less saturation and into darker colours
Mesmer: involving around magenta which fits with white and beige
Necro: sharp contrast in black and white, add greens
Elementalist: depending on the element which you want your character to represent: blues, reds, greens, browns

Generally when I pick dyes I go for contrast and natural colours
Mening if I have many dark colours I usually pick some metallic light colour for little stuff like lining or buttons etc.
Also: contrasts in colours can happen to look very well if nicely combined (for example: blue/ yellow- pick dark blue, gold)

I went ahead and ranted about colours now thanks to you hahah
Also a tipp: sometimes if you want a natural golden look for metal, don’t choose “gold” as it’s often too bright or contains too much yellow
Pick a greenish yellow (khaki) instead for a natural golden look on gear pieces made from metal~

1.) How did you learn to create digital art? Did you teach yourself, take a class, make copies of others work, etc?

Im am mostly self taught as well. it just really depends on yourself, how willing you are to put time into it.
no class will help you much if you arent willing to sit down and do the thing. it helps nailing down basics however and its nice drawing with other people.
if you cant get art class there is plenty tutorials (and feedback groups on deviantart if you like)
don’t expect to get good in a little bit of time. art of all things requires patience (sadly :V) take your time. if something doesnt work do it again and again and again.

2.) What kind of physical tools do you use and what would you recommend for someone trying to learn? (Stuff like drawing tablets for example)

for a complete starter? go pencils. you don’t wanna spend your money on expensive stuff yet, and each new material requires some learning once again.

if you desperately need programms, photoshop or sai it is ( though i’d recommend sai if you start on digital art and plan to do more lineart stuff than actual painting.)

3.) What digital program do you use? Is it like photoshop or some other program?
photoshop and sai are most used. they prooved themselved over time

4.) Any other advice you think could help
as loco said. practice. look at references. do studies. cry. repeat.

keep old pictures they help you see your progress. accept good written feedback
and never forget to save or you hate yourself
