Yeah, we’re on schedule to stream on Monday at 5pm. I’m going to try using my new twitch channel (http://twitch.tv/shilane) to see if that works better since livestream is nice but kind of resource intensive.

Alright, stream is going to start up late if at all. We have guys working on our AC, just replacing the whole thing and my desk is set up next to the thermostat. It’s making it pretty difficult to work but with any luck they’ll be done soon.

EDIT: It’s a Monday! The AC guys just left, so we’re up and running now!

[@Chaos] Streams begin at 5pm PST on Mondays. Occassionally they are moved to Tuesdays if I’m busy or feeling too unwell on Monday. I always post when that happens. Hope to see you there so we can figure out how to keep you happy with the request without me feeling like I should be charging for it.

Wow, these are fantastic! Great job rendering the skin and glow effects. You’ve really handled how their skin bits fit together in a way that’s not too uncanny valley and still convincing that it’s not all one solid piece.

You do understand that these are bust requests, correct? I don’t guarantee anything beyond that. For the level of pickiness that you’re asking for, I’d probably bump it up to a commission which would require gold.

Could you give more details about what kind of style you would want the emblem to be? Would it be something that would need to be painted/shaded? What dimensions are you interested in? Is this something highly stylized or more realistic? I’d love to help but it’s hard to gauge whether I would be qualified to or not. Samples of similar aesthetics and concepts would greatly help!

Just a heads up, there will not be a stream tomorrow. My best friend is moving to the UK in a week and I need to down to San Diego to help him pack and probably will be gone all day because of it. If there’s a demand, I’ll move the stream to Tuesday at 5pm.

Hey! These are very good! I’m not familiar with the program you’re using; what is it? Also, artist slumps happen and you shouldn’t feel guilty about having them. I tend to only draw when I’m either really happy or really sad and spend most of my time in between the two with a serious case of the blahs.

You seem to have style down more or less and you blend your shading pretty well! You seem to understand colour and that’s probably one of the hardest things IMO. So you’re doing pretty good!

The only thing I could potentially crit is maybe too much soft shading? Don’t be afraid to have some areas of hard contrast and consider where you might have places of shadow to really give your forms a sense that they’re 3 dimensional. As it is, some of your stuff reads a little flat because they feel like they all get equal amounts of light? I might not be explaining it well.

In any case, you’re doing a pretty good job, hun, so keep it up!

Oh, and if you’re having trouble being inspired to do something but want to keep drawing regularly, maybe try doing drawing exercises instead of trying to do finished pieces or anything clever and inspired. No such thing as too much life drawing practice and it can be pretty mindless so you don’t have to doing any of the work figuring out what to draw, and you still benefit from the practice. I can recommend some resources if you want!

Oh wow, you’re too kind and your lady is gorgeous! I’d love to draw her. I think as of right now, you have one person ahead of you but I should be able to get to her next Monday if towards the end of the stream.

BTW, I just want to say thank you to everyone who’s shown up so far and tipped, you guys are so fabulous and all so nice and so, so generous. I honestly did not expect tips at all and the amount that you guys are tipping is really great. Last night I reached 100g for the first time since launch and for me that’s really huge so thank you guys, couldn’t have done it without you. And on another hand, this experience has really helped me grow more confident in drawing and has been great practice as I hammer out some style and technique issues.

So thank you guys so much for letting me practice with your characters, you’re all babes.

Washed out at the roots may not be bad for the trees themselves since the Pale Tree looks like a money tree or mangrove tree and they like flooded conditions. The idea that their roots might have water flowing around them might even be more natural as the tree was planted by a human who had no real idea what the tree was and thus how to care for it. Perhaps sylvari are meant to be spread this way like seed dispersal?

Like I said, I’ve been overwhelmed by how kind people have been to me and I’m only confident enough to be opening commissions at all because of you guys. So thank you for your continuing support.

Be prepared to provide good quality references!
Quality will vary with my mood and health: I consider these to be of sketch quality and not polished. There will be times where I may too fatigued or ill to do much more than a basic sketch. If you’re really put off by it, we can discuss me revisiting your request when I’m feeling better.
I can’t guarantee that I will colour them either: I will try to put some basic shading but it’s really, really unlikely that any one request will become a fully painted piece.
*If I’m really taken with your character, I may do a more completed piece.
I’m unwilling to do nsfw work for free as part of these requests: it’s been a problem in the past and I’m explicitly saying it so no one will be disappointed.

*Tips are appreciated and are accepted in the form of in game gold. I’ve never had more than 100 gold ever so any amount is fine, really, even 10 silver would make me smile.
