New System to Wardrobe Armor
@BrunoBRS.5178:
point by point
- You also tell them apart by their skills :P. but yeah I get where you are coming from
- I would also like that IF they plan to have more town clothes, if that is the case the the wardrobe slot would be separate and not replace the TC system
- Inspect… I really don’t care either way
- I don’t play sPvP so can’t comment, the suggestion for restriction was brought up in other discussions as a way to stop others saying that it will ruin pvp. I agree with you about WvW though I will remove it.
I have been following this idea since BW1 and even put in a few threads myself. I would like something like rift’s/lotro system.
Way’s to monetize this system (this was the main augment against the idea I come up against):
New uses for transmutation stone
- to change between types – light,mid,heavy – link
Sell additional slots in the gem store – everyone starts with one but can buy more
-they can still sell costumes in the gem store
other changes:
Rename town clothes to costumes or what ever
An inspect to shown the players true gear
Restrictions on use(?):
Cannot use in sPvP or WvW
Related (only linked to threads I have read and have comments):
Allow us to wear previously equipped styles
Get rid of “Town Clothing” & a few other niggles!
Awful transmutation idea for improvement

I’m relieved they didn’t give everyone the ability to make their UI look like complete garbage.
TIL rearranging weapon skills makes the UI look like garbage.

I really want this to happen or some kind of improvement.
Did the dev really say HL2 uses 75 fov as an excuse? There were so many people having issues with that game due to 75 fov it’s not even funny. The game allowed you to change fov tho, like all good games. 75 fov is for consoles, 90 for pc, these devs….
So I was watching that video comparing the FOV of 100 to 75. I must be the odd one here but the fish eye distortion from the 100 FoV was actually making me dizzy and nauseous and not the FoV 75.
Nope, does it to me too. While I’m open to the notion that the current FoV causes problems for some people I personally have never had it, and greater FoV actually causes me to get dizzy. And this is coming from someone who can’t play FPSs due to severe VR sickness.
The optimal FOV setting’s are based on monitor size and res and distance from screen. I like mine at around 90. Different setting work best for different people/set-ups.
A quick Question from someone who also gets VR sickness in FPS. Have you tried increasing the fov? For me low FOV and Head-bob/shaky camera’s are the main reasons I feel sick
FOV in GW2 is 75, which is the same as the default in Half Life
At least you can change HL FOV.
1) performance: would rather a small performance drop than headaches
2) art suffers/fisheye effect: BS having seen triple moniter set ups it look more amazing than ever, as for fisheye that only happens at high FOV (<100)
3) gameplay suffers because positional awareness becomes less necessary in a game where combat is greatly designed around positioning.: Ah the good ole pvp reason. why is this all you have? Once again by using a workaround via the windowed mode (reducing the vert size) you increase the fov or by using eyeinfinity (or the thing that shall not be named)
ALLOWING people to play the game comfortably ie without nausea or headaches should be way more important than these ‘reasons’.
While I haven’t had issues with GW2 I have had it in other games, I would get very bad headaches and feel nauseous in the worst cases. I have always had this problem, most of the time it is first-person games but there are a few 3rd-person ones as well most notably KOA:R which I was going to buy day1 but after playing the demo for 5-mins I felt very ill, so I didn’t buy the game until 2 things happened a 3rd party fix and a sale.

What you want is like Lotro outfit system.
Saving this to read in full later, but here is something I wrote about this 3 months ago on reddit: “people look at Aion’s CC and than show me pictures of the monster that could be created I am going to say something most people think is crazy you can have better customisation (even almost aion etc level) with out that all you need is limits you can set it so that the sliders aren’t as powerful, that if you move slider x one way to the extreme the slider y & z are limited etc. Yes not every one like CC but that is what presets are for.”
I would love more interaction with the environment (chairs etc) , a barber, a proper clothing system (lotro/rift), a more manageable Minipet system etc
@lookitsandrea.8531
GW2 is an mmoRPG it is only natural that people who RP would want more freedom/ways to do so

New uses for transmutation stone
- To remove stats from items i.e. make the into ‘town clothes/costumes’
- to change between types – light,mid,heavy – link
- to add stats to a item (copied from another)(?)

- everyone starts with one but can buy more
-they can still sell costumes in the gem store
other changes
Rename town clothes to costumes
An inspect to shown the players true gear
Restrictions on use

kept posting this on the BWE, I would love it if anet would do this or at least improve upon the town clothes/transmutation stones system because right now it is much to limiting.
I would love to do that (I prefer the town clothes panel idea over the tonics)
