Another stupid thread about WvW queues. -_- It’s one of those topics that ask for the “having your cake, and eating it too” solution.

I don’t see why moving to a lower population server won’t solve your baby problems. Fewer people on the server = fewer people queuing up for WvW = faster entry to WvW, so I don’t know what you’ve been smoking and saying that it won’t solve anything. Maybe they can add more maps to WvW, fine and good. But if you’re going to complain incessantly about something that you should have known from the very start, then there’s no helping you at all.

You’re also a terrible liar. The legendary shortbow shooting rainbows is more believable.

Since most the points have been stated already, I’m just going to add my 2 cents. I personally prefer the Longbow. I’m going to say this right now: It really depends on your playstyle. Yes, the auto attack is slower and not as “enjoyable” to look at when compared to the Shortbow. Yes, the skills of the Longbow recharge longer than the Shortbow, but imho, that’s pretty much it. Doing solo content, shortbows are awesome. Those bleeds do considerable damage too, but when it comes to group content (which, you’ll be doing A LOT at level cap), shortbows start to lose their “awesomeness”. Other players tend to overlook the bleed cap. Currently, bleeds from skills can stack up to 25 times, so that basically means when the target already has 25 stacks of bleeds on it, spamming your other bleeding skills won’t make it die faster. Sure, you’re going to re-apply the bleed, but you’ll also be competing with other skills from other classes that also apply a bleed. Good sustained damage, but you will never have burst damage, which I’d dare say is more useful than bleeds.

Also, Longbows have more interesting skills than shortbows. _ The only ones that I found interesting with a shortbow is crossfire and poison volley. Longbows are harder to use. They suck, if the one pew-pewing doesn’t know how to use it well, and doesn’t know where to position himself/herself in a fight, especially in WvW. Shortbows seem too easy for me, but like I said, it depends on your playstyle and preferences. Plus, shortbows look like a child’s bow. They’re all hideously small.

No such thing as the shortbow being absolutely better than the longbow in all circumstances. If people who keep saying that swear by it, then there’s no use arguing with someone content with lying to himself/herself. lol

It all boils down to you – the one who’s going to play. Spend an entire day with each weapon, then make an informed decision. Don’t let what we say ultimately decide for you. We’re just expressing our opinions, after all.

No, it doesn’t happen to me at all, unless my target moves out of my line of sight, or something suddenly blocks me.

Who would make a legendary longbow anyway ? Longbow rangers suck donkey balls .. The only use for a longbow is the AoE in WvW, spending hundreds of gold for 1 skill seems like a serious waste of time to me.
About the shortbow .. the only decent weapon for a PvE ranger, yeah, I don’t know what they have been smoking, this is not 9gag, we don’t want to see poneys and pink kitten everywhere (nor cats ;D) .. especially not on a legendary weapon …

It boils down to personal preference, so to say that a shortbow will always be superior to a longbow without irrefutable proof will only make you look stupid, brah.

My level 60 Ranger

wicked! what armor is that? im at work, cant post my ranger, but heis charr, and so far all the char armor is extremely stupid looking. He basically has a trench coat and feathered hat, how dumb!

It’s the T2 Human Cultural armor. Actually, I just bought the coat for now, and all the other pieces are mixed. Tempted to get the other pieces too, but I’m setting aside some gold so I can get a level 80 exotic Longbow the moment I hit level cap. But I’ll probably get more pieces, once I have the weapon out of the way.

My level 60 Ranger

Yeah, both bows look pretty outrageous, and by “pretty”, I really do mean "pretty. _ I guess it fits the whole Ranger psyche, but only for the Kudzu. The legendary Longbow seems like it was fashioned inside the densest forest in all of Tyria. Still, it doesn’t look good to me. As for the Dreamer, the legendary shortbow, I have no idea what the devs have been smoking the night they conceptualized it. I mean, really? A bow with head of a pony built into it? -_-

Here’s to hoping they add more legendary weapons. I’ve stopped crafting the moment I saw screenshots of them. No complaints on the immense difficulty to attain them, but as it stands, I am going to waste my time getting my crafting up, since the only reason I craft is for the legendary stuff.

No such thing as being "needed’ in this game. Some classes make it easier to get something done, but by no means are they absolutely required to get it done.
