If it isn’t due to the once a day explained above, then I would think “(Both are level 15-20)” is an indication that they may not be doing enough damage (they say it scales down but its not a straight line scale).

It has been part of the game since GW1 – it is just one more option for people to choose to use if they do so. In many ways its no different from farming your favourite area over and over in order to get the gold to buy something on the TP that you wanted but were unlikely to get due to RNG.
Rather than it being toxic I would say its giving people more options on how they want to play.

The fact that you keep stating that you don’t care about anyone elses opinion that doesn’t agree with yours is what I see as toxic. You know if you really find it so distasteful, then maybe you shouldn’t look? No one is forcing you to after all.

I think it is more obvious in GW2 because there is the LFG tool that there wasn’t in GW1 but I still don’t see as many as people seem to be saying here.

The disclaimer:- I have bought paths for my alt accounts (arah) because I wanted the dungeon unlocked for the pvp track and the APs. Ive also ported people on JPs without requesting tips and have been ported and had my tips returned that I sent them unrequested. I believe in rewarding a person for their time, especially if they come out of their way to help me with my awful jumping.

Please let them at least fix the line of sight BS with rangers first. Im sick of trying to hit something right in front of me and it says “obstructed”

The F2P business model is not just about attempting to encourage people to buy the game, some people never will, it is also about encouraging people to make microtransactions.

Its doing quite the opposite for me. Make the rewards from chests better encourages. Trying to force me by reducing the other ways makes me determined not to buy.

Also the way you describe it “if you dont do enough damage then you get nothing” just encourages zerker zombie play , certainly not skilled “hard core” – nothing about teamwork – yes, I try and rez people during fights like in the modrem events because it was the right thing to do so I guess I am not part of the 1% anyway.

No, it wasn’t. Being one who got disconnected and could not get back in, it was frustrating, annoying, no fun time and by not getting anything out of it despite me taking part before a DC outside of my control (thanks “support”) – it left me with a changed attitude about anet that has not been overcome.

They didn’t say the reset time but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same time as the gold cap per account reset. That would be an easy way for the game to handle it.

I actually thought there were laws in many states to stop gambling/underage gambling, even if it is under some “rng disguise”.

Support wasn’t helpful at all, I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on this gems, have 3 accounts and 2 Heart Of Thorns purchases. To be basically told “you’re out of luck we aren’t going to help” by a GM is very, very disappointing.

It is what I expected as this was the way they screwed me in the karka event and guess what, I have not received anything in this event either yet from the first day. What anet dont seem to realize is that these things stay in their customers minds a LONG TIME.

Yah. If people haven’t done map completion yet, they might want to wait. All the exp your level 80 earns now is going to waste. If you do map completion when the expansion starts on your level 80, then that exp should (hopefully) go towards the mastery line.

Aren’t they changing the map rewards when HoT comes out anyway? (I thought I remembered it being mentioned). I’m assuming that the tomes will give me exp anyway and Im not sure I’ll want to be doing map completion when there’s new maps to explore…

Personally I was hoping for “Scarlet reskinned” invasions with loot and rewards from the groups (being reskinned as modrem swarms) and the final Scarlet (if the map was successful) being a modrem “boss”.

See the problem I have is that I heard exactly the same thing with the karka events. then I received nothing and the answer from support was “tough, we’ve handed out everything that we are going to”. So forgive me id I am cynical Gaile, its not with you, it with the people who choose which ones to reward.

As such I missed out on items that I very much wanted and will likely miss out again on items this time.

Same as many . post patch, Dc’d again losing the stacks Id built, came back to an empty map as I wasn’t running with anyone, so zero rewards AGAIN.

Same here Zudet dc/d after building stacks…. Pointless to try and get anything from this non event.

Still bugged, Dc’d AGAIN, (only on the mordrem map, not on my other account on the other comp). Everything back to zero, all stacks lost etc etc.. what a kitten waste of time.

The issue isn’t that I don’t know how to get there, it’s the fact that I can’t get the daily by doing things I would have done anyway, I have to go out of my way to do them.

Isn’t that one of the points though, to persuade you through the use of dailies to do something you wouldn’t normally have done anyway.

I think personally the 15k daily ap limit needs to be raised/removed. Losing those players who wont bother signing on to do their dailies (and likely other things) would have a noticeable impact on the player base.
I also don’t see the reasoning behind it apart from anet not wanting to give away free gems every 5k. It is something that some players play for just the same way as some play for complete map completion on every char or obtain every greatsword skin in the game.

I haven’t noticed the lfg AP group reqs but then again, I haven’t been looking for it and don’t use the lfg often.

Not at all as I would never have bought those dyes at the ridiculous price. As they were a gift no one lost anything anyway.
I think I opened 5 of the top 6 priced ones as I liked those colours plus I have plenty more chars that will be 3 in the months ahead.

The first week of sales had day 1 sorta the same if i remember, nothing really on sale and the week marker. though tomorrow sale most like have the 6 days and so on till the last day only be around for 1 day.

Except there’s 3 days left of the 21 day sale, hence making the point that its just a normal release on the TP.

The whole sale seems to have been badly planned it seems. Take for instance the dye they offered – they limited it to 1 purchase per account, so why limit it to one day also? Anet just seem to be reducing their gem sale opportunities for no reason.

Where is todays sale? the outfit isn’t part of the sale as a) its not on sale and b) its available for 7 days, not daily or ends at the end of the sale.

I see next years 4th anniv. sale outfit here (discounted ofc) – I don’t see many buying this apart from completionists.

I would like a a revisit to the destructions of LA with Scarlet as it was something that I have missed (maybe by talking to a historian to join the event for the period of the celebration).
This would give people something to do and a chance to collect some rare materials they missed out on for the back pieces etc.

As far as the party, I would love Gaile to come back and visit with the frog!!!!
