how about a totally separate queue for courtyard?
+150 power * 20 players = +3000 power.
True, doesn’t affect it at all.
Taking a break from GW2 until this has been sorted out.
Orb buff makes absolutely no sense. None.
I don’t think that would be such a big deal. I know that for VcY at least 3-4 people record the GvG every time, and it’s not even a requirement. If video proof was necessary, I’m sure a lot more people would record it.
Link to video of GvG would be pretty good proof
(edited by tsubus.8761)
If that’s true, I hope they involve the GvG community to set up GvG mode. If they don’t want to do it in a public way (I admit it would become way too chaotic), they should at least involve a few willing “authorities in the GvG world”. If Anet does it on its own, I fear it will not be anything like we wish, probably based on sPvP with just bigger maps, which is not at all what GvG is. The freedom in WvW gear is a must.
Suggestion for gw2gvg.com: hide from rankings guilds that have been inactive for over 1-2 months. It’s pointless to have in the rankings guild that are not currently playing.
In truth, ANet should disable refulling characters’ stats after leveling while already at lvl 80, it makes no sense in any case.
I like the idea of a challenge button. It makes it more official, and guild that refuse the challenge will be kept track of
That would be a good idea. Challenges would have to be issued and accepted through gw2gvg every time, so that a refusal can be registered. This would actually be pretty easy to code, just check that the challenger and the challengee are in the same matchup, and if the guild refuses the challenge it gets showed on the page. Of course, guilds could always accept and not show up or not confirm the score, but this will obviously be frowned upon and with video proof such guilds could get harsh penalties (starting with loss of rating, up to ban from gw2gvg board).
I don’t deny they aren’t brighter, what i am saying is that they are not burning anyone’s eyes out,i’ve just stood for 5mins with the map open,i can still see i don’t have any headache etc…i don’t have coloured dots left imprinted on my eyes, far too much fuss over something so trivial.
I agree with you 100% it is frustrating they do nothing we ask for but the over reaction to the colour change is silly…imo that is
The new colors don’t affect me in that matter either (I just think that blue and green are confusing when looked at separately without the other to compare), but not all people work the same way. I remember at launch many people were actually getting nausea by the way the camera operated, especially in bright areas like the Sylvari homeland. I never personally experienced any of these side effects, but a friend of mine in real life did. This point just to prove that it’s completely possible that the new colors could have drastic effects on some people.
I hope, even though it most certainly won’t happen, that the buffs will not affect any skill related to fights. Buffs to WXP, gold, exp, karma, MF would all be great, anything that affects the outcome of a battle is not.
blue and green are extremely confusing now, sometimes i have to open the map to compare the colors to see which one it is at a particular location. please give an option to leave the old colors.
Spectators should probably be banned. I know it takes away from the fun of some people, but there are too many people that forget to turn off auto-attack or are simply there to troll. If people want to watch the GvG, there is always someone streaming. It would be much easier to take care of the trolls this way, too. Anyone who’s not part of the GvG will be killed if he/she doesn’t want to leave the area.
Tsubus that is a great idea, but at least in NA there are only 22 active guilds the rest were just targets more or less as they have no wins. Without server mobility the matches really rely on who is active in your tier if there is no one active you are either not active or find a target.
That can be simply regulated by providing an option to “unlist” your guild from gw2gvg if you’re currently not accepting challenges. Of course it would have to be made so that guilds don’t just list and unlist at will, there should be a delay between unlisting and relisting (something like a month to re-list, and another month to un-list again).
Disclaimer: I have not read every post and this might be repeated, I apologize in advance but I don’t have time to go through all posts. If this has been discussed before, please disregard the post completely
The biggest thing that bothers me is guilds that are registered to gw2gvg.com, but only accept challenges from guilds they’re sure to beat. That’s just illogical, the challenge is the whole point of a GvG, I could not care less about the rating itself honestly. There is no fun in running over guilds that pose no resistance, I’d rather lose to a good guild.
Also, the rating system makes it so that if you lose to a guild with a much higher rating, you don’t lose that many points. This should be regulated by penalizing guilds that don’t accept challenges (for example, first challenge refused=nothing happens, starting from the next refusal to that same guild within a certain timeframe, the rating of the refusing guild starts to drop, and it does so exponentially for each refusal).
Just my 2 cents.

I would say 3 modes: 10v10, 15v15, 20v20, anything less is too “individual-skill-dependent” and there is spvp for that, anything more is too random (definitely never more than 25v25). GvG should be a game mode about guild-skill, not about individual players or randomness.
Just my 2 cents.

In WvW, if rally needs to exist, it should be at 1:1 ratio. One death avenges one downed. It makes sense, currently it is completely unbalanced and makes it so that trolls easily rally tons of enemies.
One would be the so-called “Sacrx potion”.

I wish ANet would at least give an opinion on the matter, to know if it’s a remote possibility or if we should just stop asking. For sure it would be a long process to get a system like this going, but I believe that it would increase the value of GW2 immensely, and it would probably attract a lot of new players that are looking for a more hardcore game than regular WvW.

As a member of the newly transferred Velocity Corporation, I would like to say that I am taking my first week on the new job quite seriously. The amount of work to be done is big, almost overwhelming, but the results so far have been very satisfying. Here is a couple of the many good fights that we’ve experienced last night on Kodash’s borderland:
(from my point of view)
http://www.twitch.tv/hammernaut/c/2747299 (from Hammernaut’s point of view, I was not able to record this one).
I hope that these open-field fights will continue for the rest of the week.

I am aware of the issues with the slow motion during big fights, but it only happens when I am streaming, and I’m still trying to fiddle with the options to gain some boost. I will however improve the hardware in a couple of weeks with a new graphic card, but I am not sure if that’s going to help that much. When I record using dxtory I don’t have these issues, so it’s definitely something I need to tweak with OBS. I guess it’s just an extra challenge when I play.

After another hard night’s work, with many very, very nice fights with both WSR, and UW, I almost reached the point of having fun. Because of this risk, and the undoubtedly serious consequences I would receive from the Department of Seriousness of the Velocity Corporation, I felt forced to stop working and go home for the night.
Thank you in any case for all the great fights. I have killed and have been killed many times, but here is a nice fight that I remember vividly (VcY vs WSR): http://www.twitch.tv/tsubus/c/2635355

I think that rally should be “nerfed”. To be honest I don’t agree with its mechanics at all, but I think that to make sense it should work at a 1:1 ratio. One dead person can rally one downed person, not an entire zerg, not even 5 people. The entire “rally system” is broken because it is enough for one troll/spy to get into a fight at the right time, and he can resurrect several enemies at the same time.
As a resident of Ruins of Surmia, I am envious of the organization and scouting seen on Underworld. Ruins of Surmia still has a long way to go, but that type of efficient communication is exactly what we should be aiming for.

As a member of the VcY corporation, I take my job very seriously and fun is definitely not part of the equation. I have several duties and responsibilities, and therefore no time to amuse myself with frivolous activities.
All the various departments of the Velocity Corporation expect a lot from their employees, and as a consequence we perform our job diligently and in a very serious manner. It would not be a surprise to be disciplined for having excess fun.

Radese
I’d also like to add that anything I say is my personal point of view, my messages are not necessarily approved by the VcY Corporation or by its department of Human Resources. I’m only a humble employee.

I was scared when I saw this last night:
After that print, only PAX and SWD stayed there for the fight, only to find out 80+ RoS would jump on us. While we had 30-35
And you accuse UW of blobbing? It seems both servers do it, doesnt matter how many times. It was a good fight Venn, he held as long as we could.
And btw…
You asked for us to be home borders to fight us, but you never showed up… We waited for 3h and you didnt come, only Dex came first then RioT… Anyways, good fighting. Always a pleasure
I am not accusing anybody of anything, it’s human nature to try to gain an advantage over our opponents. But please, there is a video to prove that we were not a 80+ blob. We are not coordinated with the RoS pugs, but you can clearly see that they attack SWD and don’t interfere in our fight with PAX.
If you’d like, VcY would love to have a GvG with PAX and/or SWD, so if you are interested please contact Mistress Sird (in-game: Sird.4536 ). I believe it would be fun to have good fights without any external interference.

I am not sure if you’re talking to me or somebody else, but I’ve joined late last night so I have no idea what you’re talking about. I don’t know where you’re seeing 80+, as from the video it is clear that there were only around 15 of us. I was just glad we got a good fight out of that. Please, let’s keep this thread civil, there is no need to start pointing fingers.

Good fight aftewards, though, had fun: http://www.twitch.tv/tsubus/c/2612348
Unfortunately on RoS we don’t have the numbers to cover all borderlands against UW, but we’re doing what we can. Unfortunately because of the new matchup system, I understand that sometimes servers need to do a lot of night capping and blobbing in order to not lose too many points. It’s unfortunate, I truly enjoy the fights with UW.

I apologize again if I have offended you or anybody in any shape or form. That was supposed to be a funny comment, but I understand that we do not all share the same sense of humor. Being a member of the Serious Velocity Corporation, I should know better than trying to amuse people: I find myself in unknown territory.
Best Regards,
Radese
I apologize for the insensitive comment, I did not mean to offend anyone. I thought it was nice that we’ve started to share our dreams, though. I could talk about that time I soloed SM, if you’d like.
This or any previous message is not approved by the VcY Corporation.
Radese.
we even steal from the rich unsensetive guys like VVCY by farming them at their keeps
I assume afterwards you woke up all wet?
I am enjoying the seriousness of the competition this week. I hope that I will not be disciplined for it. It’s a fine line I’m walking.

Again, I don’t think it’s that big of an issue in upper tiers because no matter the results you will always find fights (actually I don’t understand how people stay in T1-T2 with all the huge blobs and skill lag, but that’s an entirely different conversation). The issue with EU T9 is that FoW and Vabbi are completely empty, the unlucky server that ends up there is forced to do PvD all week long.
edit: do you think this makes any sense, considering it’s just past prime time? https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/82548/gw041.jpg
(edited by tsubus.8761)
First of all, I want to make something very clear: I have absolutely nothing against any particular server. This argument is based purely on something obvious that seems to have only one logical solution
I know this sounds like a provocation, but please hear me out. In NA there are 24 servers, in EU there are 27. By looking at the matchups here for NA: http://mos.millenium.org/na and here for EU: http://mos.millenium.org/matchups it is clear that week after week having the last tier in EU makes little to no sense.
The average server population in EU is lower than in NA (look at the server list in world selection for proof), and WvW players fear for the week they will be matched up against FoW and Vabbi: that week simply means complete boredom with one server completely dominating all borderlands for the entire week. This has been proven to be the case for months. A lot of guilds/people actually transfer to different servers during that week, so that they can have some fun in WvW.
I know that what I’m proposing will upset a lot of people that want to stay in the bottom 3 servers, but don’t you agree that it simply makes sense to remove the last EU tier entirely? Currently, because of the random match-up system, there are guilds that are moving away from lower tiers simply to avoid the possiblity of having to face FoW and Vabbi. This simply creates more imbalance in WvW population and more blobs in higher tiers, which is exactly the opposite of what we need.
I believe that removing the last tier has obvious benefits. People from T9 would most likely move to servers that are similar to what they are accustomed to, meaning probably T6-T8, which would mean more population balance throughout the tiers. Servers/guilds will not have to fear facing 2 empty servers and a wasted WvW week (which could also have repercussions in the future, for example a lot of RoF people transferred to RoS this week and a lot of them will not go back). The only negative I can see would be for people that feel like they “belong” to their current server, but I think that’s just a small price to pay for what would be gained.
What do you guys think? Am I crazy for thinking this?
ps: this is purely my opinion and does not necessarily reflect anything that my server and/or guild thinks
edit: I’ve also created a reddit to discuss this more, if people are interested: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1hmjw6/should_the_bottom_3_servers_in_europe_be_removed/

not working for me (at least not from the Linux machine at work, using Chrome).
If you tried while the servers were down my site won’t work either
I could definitely use better error handlers, but if the API is down, my site can’t do anything, so that was probably the problem
Yeah, when I got home the WvW servers were still down and at that point I realized. Couldn’t check from work. Sorry about the false alarm.
congrats mate

This week we’re in T4 or T5, any big SM fight will give you terrible skill lag. No need to go to T1 to experience it.
not working for me (at least not from the Linux machine at work, using Chrome).
Simply ignore thieves, they are just there to troll you.
what’s really needed is a separate key for looting. that’s the only reason to press F while in combat.
I am assuming, or actually hoping, that they will include GvG in the first expansion, and let guilds have their own place like in GW1. These, if properly structured, could be used as GvG grounds.
skill lag is the main issue, i never have “movement lag”, but when you can’t use your skills it gets extremely frustrating. you just sit there spamming 1 because that’s the only skill that works.
I guess replying to this thread brought me luck, dropped a Dusk from a Gandary enemy (loot bag, not rank chest).
:D
I suppose you mean Gandara?
If yes, gz and yw!
Yeah, Gandara
