If a party member is afk, we already have a majority-based mechanic to remove them from party. If they want to stay in there, the party member(s) that want to leave can go to character select screen or drop party/reform.
It’s true, Jade maw needs a shorter time to fractal stabilization, but that doesn’t address the issue that you can be ripped out of an instance without consent.
Can we please get this to require all party members instead of a majority? Someone clicked it after receiving solid ocean loot. Then two others clicked it not noticing that it said “Warning: This reverts your progress…”
And so it was that we were all teleported back to Dessa’s lab without credit for the fractal.
Put in an option to manually exchange gold for X amount of gems and vice versa
Done.
No more putting in X gold to get the amount of gems you want and so it won’t confuse players. I want to exchang my 100 gems for gold, fine, just type it in and when you wanna get gems for your gold, fine, just type in how much gems you want. Profit.
This is a great solution and how I wish it were implemented to begin with. When converting to gems, the goal is (generally) not to spend a certain amount of gold, it’s to get a certain amount of gems for a particular purpose, so it makes sense for the user to set the amount of gems in this conversion. For me, the thing that was confusing was that I had to keep fiddling with the amount of gold I was going to spend to reach a target amount of gems. When I changed the amount of gold, the conversion rate may have changed, so suddenly even though I just increased the amount of gold to convert, I might be getting less gems. It was actually difficult to get the amount of gems I wanted. The current solution does solve this problem, but at the cost of severely limited choice – so limited that it will cause even more inconvenience.
Ideally it would be like adjusting the canvas size of a picture with the aspect ratio locked. You can set the height or the width and the other will automatically adjust to maintain the aspect ratio. However, if you’re going to go with just one, it needs to be setting the desired amount of gems in the gold → gems conversion.
This happened several times tonight to myself and also other guild members. We had stalked a few bounties and when we activated our tier 2 bounty, the person tracking Teesa (one of the 3 targets given) got a strange message along the lines of “Guild bounty has been activated on another instance. Do you want to travel?” As she had already located Teesa, she declined. Everyone who then tried to join her map instance immediately lost connection and was sent to the character screen.
45 minutes later it happened again when we popped a bounty training. No one got that message but attempting to join in another’s instance still sent me to the character selection screen.
We failed our bounty =( Thankfully, bounty training still got done.
Seems like in addition to reserving instance spots for guild members during missions (which clearly is not working correctly), the system is also locking people into instances and kicking them if they try to change.
Edit: Joining on the “right” instance doesn’t send you to the login screen.
Thank you for looking in to this. Last night a guildie fell through a hole at the arms and we were unable to recover the hammer. When we wiped, I saw the hammer for a split second (after the last person died) and had a moment of hope but alas it was gone when we resurrected.
There was clear evidence that people were completing the event just to spite the farming group. Going invisible so they can’t be whispered, dragging the mobs to the group, and then laughing, saluting, jumping around, etc when the event was completed.
Unfortunately, the groups wouldn’t stop giving them exactly the attention they were looking for. My solution was to just leave, but I guess that’s too much to ask of a group that can’t stop flaming a troll.
Unfortunately, you are completely wrong on the attention thing. I made the event succeed so the entire map could go back to farming in a non-cesspool fashion, myself included. Almost every event on maps with this garbage farm were not being done.
I didn’t mean to imply that was the only reason people were completing the event. I was referring to those who were clearly trolling for negative attention.

Could this thread, https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Authorized-Networks-Removal/first#post1075784, be updated? When searching for “gw2 remove authorized networks” It’s still the top google hit, followed by several other threads that only state the need to contact support for authorized network removal. Due to me not seeing any updates in any of these threads, I was unaware of the ability to remove authorized networks and forcefully disconnect a hacker, which would have come in handy yesterday for a friend whose account was compromised. Instead we just watched helplessly as the hacker stripped her account and sold everything. =(
I don’t know when you implemented this functionality, but it’s excellent. Thank you.
I can’t stand the “don’t complain, don’t be negative, just be happy because you’re not starving to death” attitude. Its narcissistic apathy veiled in blissful ignorance.
…. What? I am not apathetic concerning this and would wager to be less ignorant then the people here posting the hateful comments.
I’m sure that if the people saying “don’t be hating” had a skin they wanted [and earned] bad enough, they would be right here posting.
I very much want a skin. That is why I found this thread to begin with. However, I also have something called patience.
Wow okay, so all of the comments that I bothered reading are really negative, or were telling the developers how to do their own job.
That is because the people who are commenting in this thread are generally those who didn’t get their rewards, as those that did don’t have much a reason to be here.
Wow, you people seriously need to chill out. It’s impossible to avoid bugs when you are introducing new content and patches regularly. That’s just reality. You people who are telling Anet to do some testing are idiots. Do you really think when they get their first clean compile they just say, “Sweet, all done, let’s go live with it”?
If the shoe fits.
You clearly haven’t done any software development if you think the presence of bugs means it’s untested. Generally, because you need to balance confidence with time constraints, you do tests under several (but not all) different conditions and make sure it generates the results you intended and you move on to other things. Or maybe you even do all the different conditions you can do on your own systems, but then when it rolls out there’s some goofy variable that breaks it on some remote clients.

After a particular boss changes form at 50% health, casting Polymorph Moa on him will cause him to revert to his original form when the 10 moa seconds are up. Seems like a bug and I hope it’s not exploit level because I love turning things into moas.
Ohh that could very well be it. I didn’t realize the dailies counted toward it.
Edit: That is indeed the case. I did receive my loot bag though. This bug affects Winter Wonderland, Snowball Mayhem, and Bells of Wintersday for me. I have done 20, 15, and 60 (repeated 2 times) of each respectively and do not have them counted toward Journeyman. It likely affects Toypoc Survivor as well since that is a repeatable achievement.

Same here. It says “repeated 1 times.” It appears to be counting it though for the achievement, as I have 8/20 listed but only 7 checkmarks, so I think it’s just a display bug.
Fully removed the drivers and reinstalled, but the problem still persisted, both with beta and whql AMD drivers. Microsoft released yesterday an update to IE and an optional AMD driver update (reported as 13.152.1.1-130910a-162613E-ATI in the catalyst cc), and it’s been stable for 24 hours. I’m running a HD6850 for reference.
I have massive instability in Windows 8.1. Even the catalyst driver installation crashed the first time. I’ve tried the regular and the beta drivers, both don’t help. I think it’s just a Windows 8.1 thing seeing as how I also get frequent crashes in Chrome and Firefox, and get a blue screen every other night.
Same for me. Even after I installed the AMD drivers for Windows 8.1 it crashes often.
