Wouldn’t it have been easier to buy mats and ship those to your buddy? Or was it for the precursor? (in which case, why not use one of the common currency-substitutes, such as ecto?)
Yeah, it was for the precursor, and we did end up buying and selling ectos Just annoying how much gold you waste having to do that.

Hey man we WvWers have to do kitten ton of pve to craft legendaries so I don’t why is there a problem for you to do WvW. We WvWers find pve boring af too but we still have to do it. Also gift of battle is literally 2% of the legendary so if you can’t do 2% WvW then you don’t deserve it.
Why not make it easier for WvW people instead? Add a reward track that awards 1/6th gift of exploration. Doing it 6 times would be pretty much same time as 100% world but you could do it in WvW, doing what you like. Also a lot of PvE players hate map exploration for nth time, it’s boring as hell, especially renown hearts.

Interesting, even if I’m not sure about “Supply cost for all catapults are being reduced by ten supply”. We should not forget that the biggest guilds just begin to be able to give “at will” the “+10” (yes…+10 not only +5 if you look carefully) supply bonus to the structure they control…but we will see.
An old issue to address is the balance between servers due to their difference of population…especially during night.
Perhaps one simple way to resolve that issue could be to link the amount of points a server wins to its population really present on the 4 wcw maps at the moment of the calculation.
In such a system, we could imagine that only the less populated server should be able to mark 100% of the points for a structure it controls (and…why not…for a player kill).The two other servers could mark an amount of points inversely proportional to the delta between their population and the weakest at the moment of the calculation.
The calculation should be done considering the 4 maps and in real time or, if it’s technically too difficult to implement, for the next 15 minutes just before “the tic”.
As an example if a server has its population present on the maps representing 140% of the less populated server at the same moment, it should be able to mark…60% of the available points.
The ratio I propose are simple ones. Perhaps they should be mitigated by things as a floor value (as an exemple no points for anyone as long the 3 servers have less than 5 players each on the maps)
But regardless of the system chosen to address that issue, it should remain simple.(Edit: formatting)
Hey, nice to hear your ideas, but I’m not sure how they would help fix the problem of server imbalance though. If a server has much better coverage than the other servers in its tier, that suggests that it doesn’t belong in that tier anymore, so the faster it can move up the better for everyone. By reducing or eliminating the points a server can get during off hours it would result in more static server match ups, as servers that gain improved coverage would be unable to use this advantage to move up the rankings. As someone who has played on both sides of one sided match ups, I don’t think it’s fun for anyone, when you log on for the night and find you have nothing to do because your server controls fully upgraded everything on the map it gets old fast and being spawn camped by a larger group when on the losing side gets really disheartening for everyone, any action that could prolong this hell would need kitten good justification before it’s implemented. Match ups need to be more sensitive to off hour coverage, not less, so that all servers can be competitive against their opponents at any time of the day.

These changes look like a good idea, but may need some adjustments in the way they are implemented to avoid negative side effects. For example the PPK change could lead to people avoiding fights if they don’t think they can win, making it so your death doesn’t provide PPK if your server is outnumbered on a map or doubling the amount of PPK you receive on killing an enemy while outnumbered could help encourage people to keep playing even while losing. Also, to avoid the stale tower humping game-play some servers engage in, disabling PPK from a person who has received siege damage in the 20 seconds prior to their death and doubling the PPK received when spiking someone that was defending a tower or keep would help reward servers that actively try to engage the enemy even if they are unsuccessful in taking an objective.
Wanted to say that i loved the news that Hero Challenges can be completed by spending currencies earned playing wvw. It really matches up well with comments made by Colin Johanson years ago when he said “It’s extremely important that we stay true to our philosophy that you should be able to play Guild Wars 2 the way you want to play the game in order to reach the most powerful rewards” https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/colin-johanson-on-guild-wars-2-in-the-months-ahead/.
My first reaction to the hero’s points info was excitement at how much easier it would be for wvw focused players to get map completion, then it got me thinking are there any plans to expand on this in the future, to release consumables that complete random waypoints, vistas, hearts etc for characters? I’m sure being able to work on completing tasks for a legendary by playing their preferred game mode would be a dream for a lot of players, grinding is a lot less work when its doing something you love. Anyway thanks for showing some love to wvw players with this hero point change.
