I think the fix is incoming! Just got disconnected. Funny thing is that when I tried to log in again it said that my account had been permanantly terminated for a breach of the User Agreement/ Rules of Conduct xD.
Great to know! I haven’t received any in-game messages about anything yet though; hopefully I’m still included in the fix.
Me too. Lost ALL my map exploration in HoT maps after I logged into a faulty Mount Maelstrom map.
Hope this gets fixed soon
Hello, Ticket Number: 601678 , opened 09 May 14. Thank you!
Today I was told by someone playing a guardian that I had played like a coward for shooting him afar with a bow, stabbing him in the back, disappearing, then stabbing him in the back again; that my lack of honor was worrying and that what I am in game carried on into real life. He proceeded to give me a lecture on ethical, moral, and honorable combat.
i dont even.
Arc DLad, some sort of additional effect for dual wielders seems like a very interesting idea. it wouldn’t involve changing the character-bound status, it wouldn’t affect others being apply to apply 1 skin to 2 items on the same character.. this might be something worthwhile to do!
I was pointing out that they get the skin for free, sure, but you still have something over someone using an exotic secondary, so it’s not as if you come away with nothing at all.
The disparity in the costs of making another identical Legendary vs making even an ascended weapon and then transmuting the skin over using the new system is quite great though.
Don’t get me wrong. I like the update overall. It’s good for the game, and I’m happy about it. But I’m annoyed that I just got a second Bolt, and I’m sure lots of people would like to get something for their second Whisperblade or whatever. I really think the best option would be being able to submit a ticket and get all the mats back from a Bolt, so I could make a different legendary/sell the lodestones/etc. Maybe a lot of work for customer service, but it’d be real nice.
That would be quite a task, but a very good decision overall I feel I think those who were shafted by this change will be quite happy if something like that was implemented.
The people who own double of the same Legendary have now become the object of ridicule…
You can’t say that having the ability to to change stats makes it worth making two. If this was in from the beginning people would have just made one and made BiS swords of different stats to add the skins onto, not to mention being able to have multiple sigils. When legendaries have access to every sigil on demand then we can re-evaluate, but the skin still has a value and afterwards it should have more value than just a stat swapping system that is useless for serious play due to sigils. Personally I don’t like to pay 3g to swap my legendary’s sigil every time I want to change from WvW to PvE.
I have very little doubt that every person who made two of the same legendary wouldn’t have with the upcoming system in place. That alone should be enough to say that it is wrong to suddenly take hundreds or thousands of gold that they spent so they could be unique.
Unless owners of two of the same skin are properly compensated, they need to have a system in place like I described in my post here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Wardrobe-1-Hand-Weapons-Retaining-Value/first#post3809981
Well said!
Hopefully we’ll get a dev response to this bit of a pickle, even if it’s just a nod of_ acknowledgement + a “deal with it” gif to show us that they are aware of these.. peripheral implications of the wardrobe system
I agree with there being some sense of loss felt. If Anet allowed me to change my identical legendary into an underwater counterpart I’d leap at it now. xD
1 for 1 Legendary skin swap perhaps?
Legendary costs aren’t equivalent though.
True. Good point.
“If you have an item that has gone through skin progression, like a legendary weapon or one of the Spinal Blade backpacks from the “Escape from Lion’s Arch” and “Battle for Lion’s Arch” releases, you will unlock all of the skins in that direct line of progression. That means that if you made Twilight, you will have access to both the Twilight and Dusk skins across your entire account. "

I think this could be construed as evidence for Legendary skins being available in the wardrobe xD
While this issue will no doubt apply to a very limited group of players, I do hope Anet comes up with some sort of solution to ease us along the way!
1 for 1 Legendary skin swap perhaps?
But what about those who have 2 of each and every skin ._.
I don’t know.
I agree that having the physical Legendary still has higher value due to the ability to:
1) Change stats at will
2) Always be best in slot (item level)
Though I feel that a large(if not majority) of the value from having a Legendary comes with the aesthetic, and if I had the option of reskinning an Ascended weapon with an application of the Wardrobe Legendary skin I think most people would choose that option instead of making a second identical Legendary.
While I surely welcome the changes to the ways skins are going to be applied, and have to commend Anet for the great changes coming with the April Feature Pack, one of the incoming changes regarded the Wardrobe System has left a little sour taste :p
I am the fortunate(unfortunate) owner of 2 identical Legendary Weapons, and with the impending change allowing people with 1 Legendary to skin over as many weapons as they want across their whole account, this has made me feel like there is a diminution of value in my 2nd Legendary
This may just be me feeling entitled and what have you, I somewhat agree, though I just thought I’d get this rant out of the way.
I still love the direction that these changes are going in though, it’s just tragic that I happen to be part of the collateral damage.
A couple of hours ago wrongful action was taken against my account in which I was no longer allowed access to it – after submitting a ticket through the support “Ask a Question” website, I received a reply within a couple of hours with great follow up and quick remedy.
I’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to those involved in helping me solve my account issue, it is very greatly appreciated!
I don’t know where else to go with this so I’m posting it here, hopefully people with similar experiences who go through the forums looking for answers will find it good to know about my story, and that while the support ticket site seems less direct than a phone service, it works.
Best Regards & Merry Christmas.
