I agree with Lynne about specializing characters.
I currently have a Ranger that is my ‘main’ and she’s at 35 AR and sitting at fractal 40 (I’ve already acquired quite a few fractal skins) and I have a Warrior that I solely WvW with and he’s rank 14 about to be 15 and is in all ascended gear as well. (well, i want to get him the 100% completion star as I feel nakey without it)
I in no way feel discouraged by Anet to play between my 2 characters, but that’s just me.
As a matter of fact, the sole reason I made my Warrior for WvW was to use all those silly boosters I get from black lion chests, since I personally had 0 incentive to use them in PvE land. They work wonders in WvW, imo, especially the speed boost. 
My advice is to specialize if you think it’d suit you, or just nut up and level that alt through fractals!
Well, decided to give it another shot tonight.
I updated my GTX 550Ti driver from 306.97 to 314.07 in hopes it’d help.
I ran GW2 and within 10 minutes got hit with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bsod, I haven’t seen that in a while. (I assume something went awry with the driver install)
So I just rolled back to 306.97 and decided to give Maw a try, and yes, it crashed after receiving my gold medal for Portal event. (so close to getting 1 for group event daily and of course, the chest
)
I tried one more time and crashed on Colossus fractal at the Chest seal and said ‘screw it’
Meh, the most depressing fact is I’m 1 pristine relic away from 2 Ascended Cleric rings (which I’ve been patiently waiting for since they weren’t available at first, spose I’ll just have to wait a bit longer!)

I’ve been researching Nvidia driver issues a bit and looking at the logs everyone posts about these crashes. There appears to be some kind of bug (memory leak?) in the game client that doesn’t “like” certain Nvidia GTX graphics drivers.
If you want to try them, here are links to older Nvidia GTX drivers (think they only go up to GTX590). First link is for 32 bit Vista/7. Second link is for 64 bit Vista/7:
Appreciate the help abomally, those go waaaaaaaay back, but I have them bookmarked incase I do any driver updating.
@skidmarks – does it only happen during those events or does it happen randomly as well?
I’ve had it happen in Dredge Fractal, just running around Orr, and one time just by zoning into Dredgehaunt Cliffs. (this is all post patch, it was working fine before)
Needless to say , it’s more or less killed my ambition to play this weekend. I still haven’t updated my display drivers (the other games I play are doing just fine and I think it’s a GW2 thing)
I’m wary of updating my drivers because the last time I did, it caused more harm than good and had to rollback. :/
Whenever I get around to wanting to play GW2 again, I’ll update the drivers and see what happens
I too have been plagued with constant BSODs since the patch. I’d been playing perfectly fine since August.
The BSOD’s mostly occur during the world events since the loot is now oh so phat and everyone is clamoring to them. I can’t do Claw, Shadow Behemoth, Maw, Megadestroyer, Teq, Shatterer, etc anymore.
What really sucks is when I’m doing those events and it’s all going fine and then the BSOD happens when the boss is at 5% HP. No chest for me.
I can’t even hop on a Cursed Shore Karma Train to get loot, karma, and boost my monthly event achievement. Oh well. Here’s to hoping a fix will happen soon…

In the meantime, I’ll be playing other games and checking back for a fix
I’ll try updating my drivers as well.
P.S. That error log came from a Maw event I crashed on during the portals.
