I wonder if A-Net actually realises this...

I’ve played so much PvE relying on 100b because it’s just so darn good for it… forcibly weaned myself off GS in pvp because (for us mere mortals in the class, the L2P!fodder) you’re pretty much a useless meathead when you’re not Rushing a near-dead player who’s excessively attempting to escape off a ledge and out of your reach instead of letting you have your gotdang well-deserved kill.

I agree a less damaging, shorter duration, shorter cooldown 100b (75b? 50b? ;p) might actually improve the play of the GS in anything above your standard old dungeon pve. It’s a cumbersome skill against the mobile and slippery (99% of your pvpers), and obnoxious to cancel it too (same with canceling rush, my god). If there is some trick to recovering from a 100b or Rush misfire, let me just say now that it is not intuitive enough to be viable. And even with a recover, there you’ve gone, wasting your strongest damage dealing or gap closing skills for nothing. Most of the skills on GS, including the gap closing and mobility skills, seem to work best on generally stationary or decently slow-moving targets on FLAT LAND—ie, your typical dumb pve mobs. I truly admire those who make gs work in pvp, you are more talented than I—and I mean that sincerely.

I gotta say, the realest fun I’ve had in pvp with warrior is going against another warrior. That feels like a real fight to me—no accessing my mental inventory of class gimmicks I’ll potentially have to deal with. Fighting classes that stealth, distract, restrict movement, CD, etc, it just feels like swatting flies and chasing spectres. The gap closers are so horrid on standard use, even though I know there’s some L2P aspects in it for me personally—I could def be playing warrior better, still learning a lot—but it’s hard to ignore the lack of ‘cheap tricks’ for potential to disengage OR control a battle without being really really, really on the ball. Part of it, is definitely opponent players being more experienced and skilled than I am now; I will always admit to that. But it stands out to me that I can, as a fairly novice player, fight seasoned warrs in pvp with a very fair chance of success.

My observation: The class is solid stat-wise in a fair play situation, as befits a warrior, but in the same respect honestly seems to have nothing that makes it special right now, like the others do—making it quite the lame-leg opponent when it comes to matched play. Changing the adrenaline system as has been mentioned seems like a good place to start, maybe. I don’t want the type of fight-controlling/evasive skills that are used by many other classes; fine if it works for them, and a diverse class pool is great, but it just feels dirty and gimmicky when I do it and I dislike the thought of that type of play style. I don’t want to play as another class with better pvp options; I want to play as my class and hold a little respect amongst the others

So, it would be nice to be able to expect to hold solid ground with the engagement style I prefer to play, when I do reach a point of being skilled and confident in playing as a warrior.

How are Warriors in 1v1?

I love playing as a warrior, period. The spirit of the class is my calling. :-9

I get a decent amount of kills on every class in spvp imo, decent enough staying power in 1v1 spots—dps and down some fools bad enough so as not to find it horribly unfair when their necro/ranger buddies rush in and demolish me with conditions. Circle of life. It’s my preferred class vs others i’ve played extensively, but hey, I’ll fully admit to being a semi-casual player. It’s actually kinda funny to watch players on their immobilize/CD/stealth powertrips get excited about another pooooor duuummbb noob GS 100b spammin’ warr!1 to take advantage of—at the end of the day, it puts the R in the RPG for me That’s a warrior; staunch and forceful, capable but not indomitable, preyed upon for the role they choose to play in battle and accepting all manner of poisonous, bleedy death into their sturdy bodies ’til the glorious end.

In all seriousness though, I’m obviously not saying more tightly invested players have nothing to complain about as far as the class limitations go. :p I really wouldn’t know; I’m not trying to be the best or anywhere near it. To have a memorable experience and die a lot (maybe too much) alongside guildies and friends is fine with me. I’m having plenty of fun with warrior and I’m sticking to it.

(Seriously though, I wouldn’t mind some better condition removal. I do somewhat suspect though, the warr would be a bit OP with just that one thing, ahahaa)

Just my 2cents.
