Not really fishy, exactly. There’s not a lot of need for chocolate unless you’re baking stuff, and the input to the Trading Post is probably equivalent or near equivalent of the drop rate. Hence, the amount stays stable.
So how did supply drop nearly a million over a week or two period? Explain that. You basically contradict yourself by stating its not used but that the drop rate keeps the supply stable. So its not used BUT very quickly 1million bars vanished and then all of sudden it became one of the most stable markets (the drop nerf was about a month before this happened as well, just fyi). try again?
1,000,000 supply ain’t that much. There are still hundreds of thousand very active players in the game.
the point is that it went from 1 mil to 12,000 supply in the course of about a week and ever since then has stayed right at a consistent 10-12k supply. Kind of fishy right?
There’s nothing wrong with controlling markets
because monopolies are good irl. oh wait….
some markets are fine to have a minority control because they can be farmed and/or people can refuse to pay the cost but items like Silver Doubloons are borderline impossible to farm and when one person buys up all the one posted for reasonable costs and sell them for 4 times the worth its a problem. Like I asked, Why is there a recipe to convert Silver Doubloons to Gold but not recipes to convert Copper to Silver or Gold to Platinum? makes absolutely no sense.
Not saying that there aren’t people playing the TP aspect of the game, but there is only one significant controller of the economy and that would be Anet. And the primary mechanism for control is the drop rate.
show me how to farm doubloons consistently, you can’t.

I’ve recently started noticing various markets being obviously controlled/manipulated by an individual or small group to the point where they become monopolies
. For example, Silver Doubloons; this is a perfect item to control, there is no way to create them (why can Gold Doubloon be created and not the others…), they are a rare drop from a specific level range and they are required for a legendary. I watched as over the course of two weeks they rose in price from 2s to the current price of 48s. I find this very disturbing as it is an item that should have no where near that value. Another example, Chocolate Bars; supply before Halloween was over one million but shortly after the supply very quickly went down to around 10,000 to 12,000 and has inflated in price from 4-6c to now over 65c peaking at times over 1s. I do understand various thing could be a factor on this second example (bot bannings, reduced drop %, and Christmas speculation) but I highly doubt that this would reduce the supply from the millions to the now very regular range of 10-12k.
The reason for this post is that I want to know what other players and ANet’s stance is on this. Can something be done to fix the issues with market controlling especially on hard to come by items required for legendaries? Juggernaut has now become the most expensive legendary by a huge margin.

I did this quest Saturday and had the same issue, I was able to complete it by using the Mortar and slowly whittling away the giants HP. Luckily the rifle turrets nearby one shot any risen so you cannot become overwhelmed. Another “bug” (intended?) is that the NPC army that comes with you literally died in seconds once the risen zerg starts its attack. This is not really an issue since the rifle turret protects you but makes the mission seem very unrealistic and sort of ruins the immersion.
I don’t know if the cannon/camera issue is connected but I am using the beta FOV and the issue affecting cannons and getting kicked seems to have started around the same time this was released.

why cross-out your account name when your forum tag is the same thing haha?! unless you have multiple accounts, then forgive me
Hi Lauren,
Human, Female, Mesmer, Smallest Build and Height
Human Tier 2 Cultural Armor Chest combined with Crafted Embroidered Pants (Level 5 version, but I assume it would affect all versions) creates a crease and skin discoloration along the lower back of Female human characters. Also many glove models that extend above the wrist create a gap in the skin textures between the wrists and hands when the Human T2 Cultural Chest armor is equipped. Both are visible in the attached screenshot.

My guess is that the Act 3 will be on the 28th and will be a finale(Mad King appearance), the Act 4 may be the aftermath of the meeting.
What is worrying me is the fact that it is a one time only event ( why not a repeatable event every 3 hours like in GW1) that is in mid-day Pacific could see large portion of player(Oceania and even Europe if the event is in mid afternoon) unable to attend it.
Anyway I hope my fear will be proved wrong and that we will all be able to enjoy the event.
I would also like to hear a clarification to if this is a one time event. The wording does make it sound that way but I’m truly hoping that’s not the case.
Colin’s wording strongly insinuates that this will be a one time event. If it were not, would he not have stated the case differently?
I would be disappointed, too, if I had other plans, but I would think Sunday would be better than a weekday for the vast majority of players. As always, any schedule will be bad for someone. They have to try to select a time that will work for as many people as possible.
True any single time slot would create conflicts hence having it a couple times, even if it was all on Sunday with different time slots, would help to alleviate some of the schedule issues for players AND possibly reduce the lag that may come from the whole of each server being in a single location (assumption).
I’m a US player and as stated previously I have a prior obligation at that time (thus I can accept this to some degree) but EU and Oceanic players, which is likely over half of the population of the game get completely boned? That just seems a bit silly.

As per the updated patch notes, the final event BIG event will be on Sunday the 28th @ 12 pst. (I would much rather it have been the 31st)
My question is will this be a 1 time thing or will the final event START at that time and run until the 31st. If this is a one time event I find that pretty disappointing, as many players (myself included) will not be able to experience the event due to prior obligations. I will be on to play all the other acts and play the game significantly but due to this event seemingly being only a 1 time thing I will miss the finale? Can anyone please provide some insight as to if the event repeats or is one time.

Leader Mara, all day everyday!
Was able to finish it just a few minutes ago, the recent patch did the trick. Thanks Jeff!
bugged for me as well.
same as the posters above, the researchers refuse to follow.
also I feel the mob respawn rate is WAY too high in the first area (prior to the cave). They respawned in no more than 5mins which is ridiculous, I mean, why do they respawn at all?
