I chose some celestial trinkets prior to realizing how poor they perform compared to dedicated stat items like Zerk and Rabid. I admit thakittens my fault and was ready to just be mad at myself for wasting laurels and fractal relics but accept it.
However now they are changing the items and making it even worse, at least before this change if I wanted to do easy content and have MF these Celestial items would be worth swapping to… now there is no reason.
I don’t care if you don’t buff Celestial just give us the option to change it like all the other MF gear, or if someone wants to keep their Celestial they can choose that.
Maybe we could finally get an update to make Endless Mystery Tonics sellable as well!
Just wanted to write a short thank you to Anet.
Lately the game has made me smile, I just finished watching the Canidates promotional videos and scrolled through reddit and twitch chats which were great. It’s making a really fun energy of people divided on supporting a canidate. And yesterday I had a big smile when I logged on after work and saw kites everywhere and had 1 waiting for me in my mail.

Photos on reddit of the community as quaggans, dolls, or golems with kites… I mean that just is awesome.

Of course this stuff is superficial in many ways but the core game is great and has kept me interested since I started in beta. I see many complaints on the forums, but I think people are just passionate about the game.
The clear choice is Evon (Abaddon)… don’t get caught on the wrong side :P

Even if we can’t have ArenaNet define Magic Find mechanics for us, could they let us know that we are on our own in figuring out how it works. I just started investing in MF and reading so many conflicting posts, I would love a transparent description of what MF find affects, chests, drops, improves quality of items? or improves amount of items etc? from the devs
Anyway I hope its not out of line to ask, It would just make me a lot less stressed out trying to figure MF’s value out.

I know there is a lot of arguing and fighting, but I am really glad this post was made and is getting so many replies.
Just the fact that so many people are passionate about this shows they actually are interested in the direction of the Mesmer class.
I would like to throw in that after reading the replies I feel like sPVP should mostly be neglected from the main argument being made here. It just seems that sPVP shattering even phantasm isn’t nearly as detrimental as PvE.
I for one would love to see some work done to Mesmers, in a none super detailed list here are just some of my ideas/points (My opinion and by no means are my ideas the best).
I feel that phantasms are currently too strong, maybe weaken them a bit and allow some way for them not to be shattered, to provide an alternative for shatter builds.
I feel the shatter closing distance/time is a bit much when you click mind wrack or CryoF and your illusions are’t in melee range (most of the time).
Also confusion in PvE feels really off, the monsters are attacking really slow and we are never in melee range unless Sword MH so I feel like the effect isn’t occurring as intended.
Mantras are just not fun. (my opinion)
I would like to see changes to weapon skills or adding weapons, I wish we had more attacks that did contact similar to Sword F1, F2 and Great sword F2.
The reason I feel like these changes would be great is just because of mainly limiting factors, I currently feel like Mesmer is a strong class, but I just think you are a shatter / or / phantasm manager. I would like to see mantra’s become more fun and less chore like and have more on hit moves so that we could have options with our play-style’s but still use shatter and phantasms just not rely solely on them.
