Last night’s maintenance reset the event so it could be completed. Skrittsburg is now open.

It is still bugged on Kraineg. There is an event to close fissures, 3/4 are closed, but the 4th one is no where to be found. This has kept the inner area closed and locked for almost a week now.

Does anyone even work at Anet? It’s almost as if the bugs that exist are just too bad. The game is released. We are done. Screw it. We aren’t fixing anything. Play it as it is or move on… Well, like many other recent MMOs, I think people are nearing the move on stage.

In one of my class quests, the Whispers guy disguised me as a pirate to go talk to the crew of some crashed kitten. he disguise is awesome. I can’t find it anywhere… is it an NPC only armor set? or does someone know what it is?

Spoiler alert: About the last quest..

in Personal Story

/bump

I have 5 characters of varying level, all about 40. New Years Eve got my first one to 80. The last “Personal Story” (that is really Trehearn’s Story and nothing to do with me anymore) that won’t let me finish it without a 5 man group almost killed the entire game for me.

Anet WTF!?

Now, in looking to work on some of my other toons, I almost can’t stomach it. First of all, the story after joining a faction becomes instantly linear and the same for everyone. That right there makes me not want to do it again. With the jipped ending… Not sure I can level any other toons… or even play anymore for that matter.

One remaining issue: Splitting stacks in the inventory… This eludes me.

Step 1: Press Alt/Option and keep it pressed
Step 2: Click with the left mouse button on the stack you want to divide
Step 3: While keeping pressed Alt and the left mouse button, move the stack you want to divide to a blank space in your inventory; it will appear a small window asking how many stacks you want to move.

It may not work at the first attempt (it happened to me a couple times) but I constantly divide stacks for sharing materials in my guild.

Hope it helps.

Thanks! Can’t believe I could not find this info sooner.

Well, I run 10.8.2 and have no problems. If Mac OS X was extremely pricey (like it used to be @ $129 a version) I’d understand your point. But it is so cheap now, it’s worth the upgrade I’d say. Even if it doesn’t solve your GW2 issues, I can’t go back to 10.7 or 10.6 (which I have at work). Using a Mac with 10.6/7 at work makes me cringe every day.

That settings change may have no effect, IDK.

I didn’t have problems before. I don’t have problems now.

About a month ago I completely deleted the GW2 install and redownloaded it. Haven’t crashed since.

Talk to more Mac users and you’ll find that not all of us are having your issues. You are only hearing the voices of those with problems because the rest of us are in-world.

I haven had no problems either but I had to manually modify my config.ini file so that the game can “see” my actual amount of video card ram see attachment:

Cool tip. Thanks! Mine was set to 256 when I have 1024. Game was running fine before, but might as well let it use it all. Have had no problems since updating this file.

Thanks!

So let me get this straight. People are complaining because they are trying to run graphical and processor intense video games on A) a LAPTOP?!?! and B) Intel graphic cards?!?! Laptops are for typing on in coffee shops, presenting PowerPoints on business trips, and DJing music. Oh, and looking at porn in a different room from your wife.

Never ever ever ever ever buy any computer using Intel graphics if you hope to play video games. A google “I’m Feeling Lucky” search could have told you that in 0.0087 seconds.

I am, however, impressed to read that some people are having success with Macs that use these Intel cards. I for one never would because they make so many different intel chipsets and they share system ram with the computer. It’s a crap shoot at best. It’s Apple’s way of lowering the cost.

Both mine and my wife’s client run fine. Better than fine, awesome. My specs Mac Pro quad core 2009, Radeon 5780, 16bg ram. 60 or better fps in Lion’s Arch. Wife’s iMac is 2011ish, maybe 2010. It also has an ATI of some sort and 4 mb of ram. Her machine easily out performs mine as far as fps go.

You must be playing a different Mac client than the rest of the community because the Mac beta has worse framerates, worse graphical performance, no high textures, audio issues, major camera issues, world map lag making the map unusable and frequent crashing that the Windows version doesn’t suffer from.

I’d like to add that these issues have been present since launch over three months ago, we haven’t received a patch or an update from devs in almost 3 months now.

Do you work for ArenaNet or something?

Umm… I do not work for Anet… I have been running the Mac Beta since it came out.

I do not see any of these problems. Of course I am running on a 2009 Mac Pro quad core with Radeon 5870 and 16 gb of ram. I have not crashed in over a month. Since I deleted the game and redownloaded it. I think the crashing issue for me was caused by the fact that I had copied the game data from my BootCamp drive.

I have been playing GW2 almost 8 hours a day everyday for the past week and have not crashed once.

Not sure what there is to be unhappy about. All of my issues have been addresses except one.

I have BootCamp installed on my Mac Pro 2009. I use it to play certain games with no Mac clients. Once GW2 released the Mac beta, I was done with BootCamp. Haven’t gone back.

Things that are better on my Mac:
-The client never crashes (Granted, after the initial install, a couple months later, I completely deleted Mac GW2 and redownloaded/installed. Don’t forget prefs in the ~/library. This stopped the crashing.)
-On my Radeon 5870 (exact same card Windows uses in BootCamp) I get 70-80 fps in Lions Arch on the Mac Beta Client and 30 fps on the Windows client I know some will say that the Mac graphics are lower quality, but I can’t tell. The game looks amazing with all settings at highest point.)
-Taking screen shots is infinitely easier (though everything is on a Mac, so…)
-The Mac Client loads and puts me in game so fast, the only delay is the 4 second count of Auto-Play.
-Some people complain about the mouse, the F keys, and such, but these are all setting in Mac System Prefs. Game runs like a champ with my Razor Naga mouse (as does OS X)

One remaining issue: Splitting stacks in the inventory… This eludes me.

P.S. To those using a MacBook and complaining about video performance: An Intel video card sharing your system RAM is the problem. Never ever ever ever buy any computer (Mac or otherwise) that uses an Intel video card. Might as well be using my old Atari 800 to process your graphics.

I am glad I am not the only one thinking this way. I think the potential for real RP in GW2 is high, but it would be better with things like the clothing.

Social clothing?

I can change from my armor into social clothing, but there is no social clothing. Just the default set I get.

There are a few costumes in the BLTC, but I want full clothing… crafted, merchant, as well as BLTC clothes.

Why make a method to use social clothing if there is almost NONE available?

Does any one have the same problem ?

Any way to fix it except moving them to other keys ?

The easy fix for this is to go to System Preferences > Keyboard > And check the box for using the F keys as F Keys.

See attached screen shot.

When the Launcher switches from the login screen to the Google Authenticator page, the cursor is not in the input box. I have to click to put it in the input. Also, after typing the authenticator code, pressing return does not submit the code. I have to click the submit button.

Both are extremely minor issues, but worth pointing out, I think.

I love the mac beta and so far it has been great. Keep up the good work!
