We apparently have an entire generation of players in this genre who are playing despite the fact they hate every aspect of the game except the part where their numbers go up. I find it utterly baffling.

QFT

I am baffled as well.

Like many of you, I have a long history of playing MMOs and have played many. I find that GW2 is a great amalgamation of what has worked for other games without most of the issues that came with them. I am thoroughly enjoying the end result; it is obvious that this is a labor of love that the devs have handed to us.

It seems to me that given the fantastic job that they have done, and all of the hours we have enjoyed in Tyria thus far, that they have earned a bit of trust. It wouldn’t be the first time that something looked iffy on paper and wound up being an excellent experience in the end.

There were many nay-sayers about GW2 before launch, how there was no way it could live up to the hype. Many reviews and many thousands of players would agree that it has. Now there are nay-sayers claiming that the game is borked before the patch is even in place; I’ll wait to see the results before I sharpen my pitchfork.

60$ well spent.

I am an altaholic. I don’t mind playing the same content with a different set of skills, or the same class with a different set of weapons and traits. I have a bunch of characters that I spend a lot of time with, and the highest is not quite 30. Apparently this is one of those rare times when being an old man with a bad memory and a short attention span is beneficial.

I knew I wouldn’t be alone in this! I understand the intelligence issue, but my real world experience tells me that many times less IQ would make me much more effective in dealing with life’s obstacles . . .

I also agree Tengu would be good. The archer Swift Arrow (I think that’s his name) that is a skill challenge is one of the toughest 1v1 fights I have come across yet, so they have a dangerous reputation in my eyes, and look the part.

Combat Bug - More common since last patch (11/14)?

This happens to me often. It is frustrating to have to move through mobs when your health is stuck in a diminished capacity.

I would love to make a Skritt playable character. They crack me up visually and especially audibly. Would have a ball playing one.

I only have a few points also, and honestly am not in a hurry to get more. The instanced playstyle did not sit well with me. I am having a ball in GW2 and whatever I cannot access pales in comparison to what I can.

Why are you people saying "toon" ??

My characters are toons. It types up faster and has an obvious meaning.

In this genre of gaming, there are people who will do things to annoy you intentionally, so I try not to do their work for them and just ignore or adjust to things that seem odd to me.
