In GW2, there are three types of professions. There is the soldier class, which is the heavy armor wearing class, the adventurer class, which wears medium armor, and then there is the scholars class, who dons the light armor. I believe that it would be a good idea to add a new heavy armor wearing profession seeing as there is three adventurer professions, three scholar professions, but just two heavy armor wearing professions. My suggestion for a new soldier class would be modeled after the Paragon class in the first Guild Wars game. However, instead of being called paragon, they could be called something like “Captain”. Also, they would not be too similar to that of GW1 in some ways because that would limit the race able to play as this profession to 1. Humans. Take away the part where they are “Touched by the gods” and such and you have a leader like class whose skills are mainly buffs by shouting commands. He could also maybe summon a follower to fight with him like a rangers pet but that might be a little over powered. This could also introduce a new weapon to the game. A spear of some sort like a halberd, or perhaps a throwing spear. He could also wield a shield. This could be an interesting class to play in large groups, like say in WvW, and even in a dungeon. Please provide your insight on my idea and tell me why you think this would or would not work or what could make it better. Thanks!
