Ranger does not necessarily have to be ranged DPS. I like to run longbow with axe/torch, or longbow and greatsword. I usually try to open from range, but then swap weapons and go to town in melee; it’s quite effective, and the lack of heavy armor isn’t really a problem.

Ranger in GW2 is a ‘pet class’, not a ‘ranged class’.

I think it’s a great idea, though I’m a bit torn on the ‘multiple bundle types’ idea. It seems to introduce unnecessary complications. The type of ‘fish’ that is gathered could just as well be determined by the location; you get crabs on a rocky shore, salmon and trout in a river, tuna and sturgeon in deep water.

Overall though, I like the idea quite a bit.
