I don’t think it’s too big of a deal that they are balancing around ascended gear for the raid. Based on previous balance, I imagine it will certainly be possible with at least a mix of exotic/ascended. And for that ascended, you can just get the trinkets and maybe the weapon(s). And if the last boss is intended for you to have all ascended (and if that turns out to actually be the case), if the increase in drop rate of the ascended weapons/armor from previous raid bosses, it shouldn’t be that hard to get decked out, especially since you can swap the stats.

However, if multiple ascended sets are necessary for different encounters that require different builds, I think that may very well be a problem as it is a much harsher gate to the content. Hopefully, that won’t be the case. I also hope they don’t have an alternative to Agony as the gate/reason for requiring full ascended gear. If it is just due to the encounters themselves, I’m sure they can still be overcome with proper skill and coordination (as well as a certain, not quite so high, threshold of gear, of course).

All of DR went into this match up knowing we couldn’t win due to our poor night coverage, anyone who did was fooling themselves.

I wish i could be bothered to go find all those threads where DR said they were going to stomp us, those people are the reason im like this on the forums, im just glad we finally got to show DR how strong we actually are without a powerhouse server, but its now obvious DR will always find a reason to try and put our server down one way or another and my forum ranting will stop after this week

Despite my random chest thumping, I’ll revert to humble IoJness. You guys in NoqqADBsty have always been a hell of a threat from DR. I have the utmost respect for you all. Be it only AD, only Bsty, or just NoQQ…it’s always interesting. I know some of you took a break for a bit after the NSP incidents, but I’ll go out on a limb and say if you all were in full force things might have been a little different. Maybe. I don’t know. But I know when DR used to dominate IoJ…the few oceanic bros I ran with would spam red flags as to where/when/how many of you were, if ever spotted.

You guys used to literally scare the crap out of pugs….informed pugs the most. Not patronizing a bit at all here. If you all take the high road and stick it out in DR you’ll be Legendary if not already (as a post exodus IoJ’r I hope you do). You’re awesome players, very organized & very much a threat. If you were to branch out and teach the masses I’d be very afraid of DR.

I only say used to because I’ve yet to see more than 10 of you in a group this matchup. You used to roll your own mini zerg. Either way, I say it all out of respect. It’s been a blast playing against you guys because it’s been well known that you are indeed a challenge.

My only excuse for being a tool in this thread is simple, DR has in the past been tools towards us on IoJ….a lot. Whatever happened to you guys, stick it out. You’ll recover eventually. If IoJ can, you can too. Bottom line is, a lot of us have wanted to beat DR for a long….long time. And it happened. So it’s over as far as I’m concerned. Hell you beat us out of how many tiers? Either way, it’s been a blast. Clearly this has been the best match for IoJ since Christmas. And despite any nonsense I’ve posted, it’s been a blast.

Aw, how nice :p yeah, we haven’t fielded many numbers, but that’s okay. We prefer small skirmishes anyways, typically, few and far between those are. Thanks for the compliments though.

To say this has gotten out of hand is an understatement.

To Oozo specifically, I had a bad night last Thurs and mouthed off on the forums when I shouldn’t have, I blamed other people (your group) for my bad mood and fabricated a BS story that you easily disproved (and I agree with completely) to make myself feel better. I believe I said it before but here it is again: I’m sorry I insulted you and caused negativity.

I’m pretty much the only one in my guild that ever posts on the boards and I usually try to represent us better than I did at that time. I regret that our first interaction was in such a negative way just because of my own selfishness. Seeing as how this thread has turned into a kitten-storm I want to make clear my guild has no ill-will toward you guys, and I’d like to try to be a civil opponent. This drama with the couple choice people I don’t agree with at all and I’m rather ashamed that my guild is being lumped in with them because of a mistake I made last week.

So consider this my olive branch. I hope we can both have good fights regardless of the numbers involved and maybe even become respected opponents. I know I’ve already made the latter a little harder.

The only reason I mentioned Splt recently is because I’m referring to fights that happened awhile back ago and I have to include your numbers since you were there. BTW, you guys are also a hard fight. Especially those rangers. I hate them and their binding roots. :P

I understand, just wanted to be clear. You guys are definitely the toughest crowd we’ve come across recently, hoping we can make some groups to give you a decent fight soon.

On a related note we were actually running around 10([Splt] and [NSP] + probably some pugs last night and ran into a NoQQ group a few times, though we didn’t get to brawl it out as long as I would’ve liked it was fun while it lasted. Those necro/engineer killzones are nasty.

Hey, I might have been of those those engineers! Yeah, having both an engi and a necro to apply then spread the conditions like that is great, especially when we can you all corralled up in a nice little guardian circle! Haha Looking forward the brawls [:

…so I’ll blame that guild of shifty eyed weasels, prancing wannabe princesses, and daring swashbucklers, RegA. More specifically, I blame Rahge. See, he repecced this week, and whereas last week he was the Charr version of Clint Eastwood, terrorizing EBay everywhere with his flamethrower and pistols, and basically singlehandedly fighting off your hordes with a cutting one liner, now he’s, I don’t know, some sort of kitty with toys, hardly fearful, and clearly the only reason why your server had the remotest chance of winning this week.

Did I mention there’s that Lunar Week thing going on? No, no, nothing to do with us having a bunch of East Asian guilds on vacation, it actually has to do with half of our server being lycanthropes, and have been spending the majority of nights growing facial hair and howling away for some kitten reason.

I feel that this is a logical fallacy of at least either inconsistent or incomplete comparison. In this case, the extremely public and vitriolic nature of whoever this Yorgy was somewhat demands to be responded to. The bottom line is can we have the responsible parties that have upset each other to please take a breather and handle their issues separately.

While I recognize that immaturity on some level will be ever present in online gaming (as will back seat commanding in wvw, I suppose), I also would like it if we could try to self-police these kinds of outbursts and disagreements when they can be a negative force for a server in a game that requires some level of cooperation. Yay, RegA was mentioned! And we cannot, for fear that we will feel the wrath of Angry Unicorns. I do not like hitting myself to death ;-;

Engineers are pretty rare and hardly recognized as a class, but even they can be commanders. Bunker engineers put out pretty negligible damage, but they can certainly run into a zerg and live long enough to have their group engage in combat, living through that as well.

I don’t use a single kit on my engineer at the moment. I might try out other builds with kits, but right now, I use P/P with Elixir H, Elixir B, Elixir U, and Elixir S, with Supply Crate as my elite, and I deal out some pretty decent damage, especially when fighting off a group. I’ve got 30 points in alchemy, 30 points in firearms, and 10 points in explosives. PM if you’d like to hear more!
