I agree to the OP.
I am level 73 with gear over the level of the quest. Maximum I get is 50% health, after which it heals back in couple of seconds. Company is dead in seconds and reviving them make no sense – until the second revive is done the first ally is already dead.
I will have to find other means for leveling up.
It’s a shame…

Tick every 3 minutes insteads of 15 minutes

Yeah,

So:

  • Everybody will fight more for supply camp instead of:
“OMG, it’s 10min before the tick, i will come back in 5 minutes so i can cap @ 4min30 and my server will have the tick of this supply because of the 5min buff on the boss.”
  • Defense will be better than: “OMG they is a 30 bus people attacking our tower, we are only 10, let’s teleport and do otherthings” => people will fight until deaths because every 3 minutes they defend their tower, it’s a +tick for their server.

Seriously why are the benefits for a 15min tick instead of less ?

Yes, this would give a more accurate result.
In theory this summing is Riemann integral of the current points function.
So as frequent the sample taking is done the result would be more accurate.

Also some anomalies would be eliminated like: holding a keep for 14 minute, loosing it for 2 and holding it another 13 would not yield any point.

It was 5 min first 2 weeks or so when the week long matches stared, if I remember correct. But the dominating server got too far a head from the other after a couple of days the other just gave up. So AN changed it to 15 min instead because a lot of complaints it ruined the fun not just for the dominating server, who had none to fight, but also the other servers who saw no point in playing.

This is a valid point, altough it can be resolved, by summing only a fraction of the total points.

Something like this:
in 15 minute sampling take the sum of total points as 695
for 3 minute sampling take the sum of total points as 139 (695 / 5)
for 1 minute sampling take the sum of total points as 46.3 (695 /15)
