Just use a normal phantasm based build right now. Maybe at Oct 15. staff becomes very strong with the con. damage buff, depending on how hard this buff will be. However right now, full zerk phantasm build. Especially useful against world bosses like Dwayna or Shaman etc. Together with many conditions on the enemy, the iWarlocks somtimes hit over 20k. Or sometimes even in dungeons if your team has many conditions.

I think one of the Staffs biggest problems in PvE is it’s horrible Auto Attack.
I remember the last time I roughly crunched some numbers, the condition damage it inflicts, even WITH the doble bounce, would need to be tripled to even keep up with the GS (an already inferior PvE weapon).
Also if they just increase the scaling for the condition damage stat that would mean you could only get more damage in exchange for zerker stats, so the hit itself and your phantasms would suffer…
So yeah unless they like DOUBLE the attack speed staff will stay a really really weak PvE weapon.

Condition Damage? Why? For the few conditions your staff (might) inflict or the cute illusion bleeds?

Zerker is the way to go here, will make your sword, iwarlock and iwarden hit like trucks.

Poison & Agony really hurts the healing efficiency.

Reviving probably faces the same reductions from those conditions. But it’s independent from HealingPower. Instead it’s based on the victim’s maxHP.

No agony and/or poison were involved. The ratio the heals get downscaled stays the same for the entire fight. Heals from others will do the correct amount of healing on me, but every heal that comes from me will be downscaled.

In the past few weeks I encountered a problem with my heals. This always happened to my while in fractals on various bosses and trash. I can’t tell if it only happens there though, since I don’t do anything else then fractals latly.
So what happens is that my heals, all of them (healing abilitys, regen ticks when I am the source of it and even rezzing others), get either downscaled or wont do any healing at all.
They will also all get downscaled by about the same ratio. It varys from 90% of the original value all the way down to nothing. I’ve tried to rezz a player once and the healing numbers popping up were scaled down to 15 so his healthbar almost didn’t move at all. This will stop the moment I leave combat. I tried by saving up a charge of the healing mantra (the first charge was healing for about 400) and ran out of combat, the moment i got ooc I popped it and healed for the original ~2100.

Torch isn't viable in PvE/Dungeons

If you want a viable Dungeon build where you can spec into Torch try Mantra GS 30/30/0/0/10, one trait in Dom is kinda optional and you could switch it whenever you need the condition removal from torch.

Go (0/15/25/0/30) with Chaotic Dampening, Compounding Power and Illusionary Elasticity rest is situational and/or up to your preference.
Use Precision, Toughness, Condition Damage equip to become a solid dps machine.
Or use Power, Precision, Condition Damage for the glass cannon style.
You should almost never use your iWarlock except on big event bosses with a kittenload of Conds on them.

Imo the Feathered armor set matches female sylvari very well and provides the highest amount of eye candy I’ve seen so far.

Scepter is faster in melee

Confirmed for Scepter.
60 attacks in ~65 sec. at melee range.
60 attacks in ~78 sec. at max. range.

The 2nd cast, Ether Blast, is the problem. It will only start to cast once the privious cast hits the target.

Nothing like this on the staff though.
50 attacks in ~67 sec. at melee range.
50 attacks in ~67 sec. at max. range.

Sorry i don’t think I can help a lot with PvP questions since I always focus on PvE in MMOs. That said GW2s PvE comes a lot closer to PvP than WoWs for an example.
So a tool that gives you an idea of how much damage a spell could be doing over given time, even if not 100% accurate, would really help in planing your build. You just need to mix the information with your own battle experience.

On conditions, I think you need to model the damage of the conditions seperatly and then add it to the damage of the spell that applys them. For spells that apply “random” conditions, say Winds of Chaos, just add the condition damage divided by their chance of applying that condition.

Winds of Chaos has a 1 in 3 chance to apply either Burning, Bleeding or Vulnerability.
So for a formula: WoC damage + 1/3 Burning damage + 1/3 Bleeding damage.
Not really accurate on short fights but should do the trick on mid and long scale.
Confusion might get a little tricky though.

Traits are also very important. And if I recall correctly there aren’t any that would be hard to implement, except for the triple bounce of WoC maybe.

A nice little tool, I’ve been loonking forward to when the theorycrafting/spreadsheet thing starts to kick in in GW2. So here are my thoughts.

First thing i noticed, I cant find the iWarlock. Are there more missing spells?

The next step would be adding conditions that inflict damage and merge them with skills able to apply that kind of condition. Of course then you’ll need to add the condition damage stat as well.

Adding a way to calculate Dps over a given time would also be really cool.
