As this is a feedback thread, I just wanted to add my feedback.

I am not bashing the game or the company, just stating my enjoyment or lack thereof of this event.

All I can say is, for a one time weekend event, I was sadly disappointed. Not in the content, but in the performance and level of problems. For something that is marketed as being a one time special event (I’m referring to the start of it and the tasks to perform), I expected it to be a little better.

The performance of the event kick off was pretty bad, I think most of us can agree. I can accept that pretty easy, it’s a lot of people fighting a lot of monsters with a lot of effects in a confined area. However, the fact that all the NPCs were bugged on top of this was the end for me. Once I found that later on I was still unable to perform the tasks of the event phase, I simply didn’t log on again for the weekend and went to play other games releasing new things to do.

I have been enjoying GW2 as a casual player that can pop on and do whatever, whenever. I can jump in and enjoy events that happen ( I really love special events and new tasks to do), but I just couldn’t be bothered to log back in for this one after having my expectations so thoroughly trashed.

Still think it’s a good game, but I was turned completely off this event after the first day.

easter eggs and references?

Sorry, but I don’t remember exactly where this is, but there’s a pirate guy that you follow around in an event. The event has a few steps, then he runs off to his home point after. I followed him one time to see where he was going.

When he gets to his home spot in a busted up ship/town/townmadeofships he starts belting out “I am the very model of a modern pirate general…” (pirates of penzance) or something along those lines. He actually goes through an entire round of this song modified for the game and NPC. It was one of the most hilarious surprises I happened across and loved sitting there laughing my kitten off at the lyrics they came up.

Great stuff….I wish I could remember exactly where that was..

EDIT: looked it up..wasn’t hard to find…imagine that…his name is Captain Penzan. You Anet guys are great.

Is it just me or is Minion AI a little "whack"?

I’ve found that the best way to get my flesh golem to fight is to slowly get closer to the mob without it getting angry at me….then my golem will run in and start attacking since I haven’t done anything and the baddie hasn’t either…..then I can start.

Ya know, it almost feels like I’m the minion and it’s the master….hmmmm

So, I’ve been playing my necro since the start and just kinda dealt with it assuming that surely someone else has mentioned this somewhere, but I didn’t see much when I did a forum search on “minion”.

The problem is it seems like minion AI is reversed more than not. What I mean is, when I’m attacking a baddie….my minion stands there like a bump on a log not helping me out at all, or jumps in at the last second to go for one shot….OR…..when I’m not in combat they will run off and just attack whatever they see in the distance.

The flesh golem (if that’s the right name) seems to be the worst for this, but it is not limited to him alone. I’ve seen my bone minions do this, seen my shadow fiend do it and of course the tropical bird that spawns from pirate mods or the ember from the consumable are just not even close to under control. They just do what they want, when they want.

So, is this just a problem I’m experiencing? Surely this is a problem that’s been brought up somewhere….anyone?

I’d be happy if they would just attack what I’m attacking, when I start attacking it or attack what’s attacking me…like a good little minion. I didn’t kill them, I brought them back to “life”, they should be thankful and do what I say!

Post here if you GAVE UP on the Clocktower!

First off, I want to say wow…a dev that comes in the thread and says, “hey ya know, it sucks that so many didn’t like it and I feel for you.” is a big deal lately. I appreciate that you understand the frustration of so many.

I thought the clocktower puzzle was super cool, however I did give up as this was a limited time event and there were other things I wanted to get done. I could not spend hours on end trying to get ONE extra achievement before they were all gone.

I just don’t think something this difficult is something to put in a holiday event is all. Something like this out there, maybe even a little harder, that the average user can dedicate time over the course of much more time outside the holiday events would be great, but in a limited time event, it was just too much for people that couldn’t spend 4-10 hours trying to get up there.

And what’s this about “first chest”. There was a chest not at the top I couldn’t even get to? Well that’s just fantastic…..sigh
