I don’t mind if it direct or dots just want to be able,to hold my own. I love my uh dk in wow with his dots though so that may be an option.
Why don’t you give spvp a quick go of each class you don’t need do any leveling or gear grinding. The mechanics of spvp is quite a lot different to WvW but you can at least get a feel for class mechanics.
It does depend on what you actually want to do in wvw too. General consensus is that engineers have one of the highest skill caps in the game if that’s what you are trying to go for, although the versitility of the elementalist might draw you in.
Do you prefer to play direct damage or DoT’s, support, control or glass cannon because while every class can do a bit of each but some are better than others. It just depends on build because you can be a tanky support guardian or glass cannon guardian with a simple change of traits (for minimal cost) and armor.
Sorry if I was unclear, I just meant I didn’t want some to say this is the most op class therefore pick this one.
I think I will do mostly world pvp with some bgs as well.
I don’t mind fighting with np s if the AI is ok in this game. I don’t have much knowledge of gw2 which is why I asked for help picking a class.
I don’t have any guild or many friend in this game yet so need to be effective on mynownnor with randoms etc
I just want to have fun , another detail I forgot to mention is I don’t generally like glass cannon unless they have decent escapes. I usually like to be in the thick of it.
your post doesnt make any sense. you want to know what classes are “pretty good” to play in pvp but not hear/discuss about what is the best? what should we judge on then given your zero information? coolest class name or what? also what pvp are you looking for? realm vs realm (zerging, roaming, guild runs) or spvp? in general in gw2 all classes have a lot of options, there is only a real distinction in melee / ranged which you dont seem to have any preferences about and most classes can do both anyways. best to watch introduction videos to all classes and rule out the ones you dont like i guess. like if you are not happy with npcs fighting on your side you can pretty much rule out rangers, necros and mesmers.

I am going to start playing gw2 and am most interested in pvp. I have been playing world of Warcraft for many years and had a dk and war as my mains.
Basically , I wanted to get the opinion of some experienced players on what class to try as my time is limited and want to avoid re-rolling if poss. Does not have to be similar to what I have played before either.
What classes are pretty good to play in pvp would you say, I am trying to avoid the whole “what is best” just want to get an idea of a general direction to go in as I am sure with time you can make any class good. Any advice will be much appreciated ty.
