So I’ve seen a few people mention the secret area where the line “The owls are not what they seem” is said, but I thought I’d share my theory on this. First off, let’s note that the NPC that tells us this line is a Shopkeeper. Next to this secret area is the shop with one of the flute songs, leading to a secret basement filled with… owls! So this got me thinking, what better way for shopkeepers to make some extra cash that filching it from passing travelers! I suspect that owls serve as an indication that a shop (secret or in plain sight) is nearby. Some areas that support this include the second hillbilly encounter in 2-1 where the shop hut has owls assailing you from the nearby trees and the nun-chuck shop in 2-2 has an owl in a nearby tree.

Anyone have any other opinions or evidence of owls assisting those thievin’ shopkeepers?

Ran CM twice today, once Seraph, once Butler, first dungeons of the day, got only 45 tokens each. Ran TA Forward, forward, received 30 tokens. My party members all were receiving 60 tokens for all of their runs that day. At this point, with this buggy DR system, it’s just not worth the effort. Fix broken system please?
